I think this has cemented this channel as the goat for camping. Clean footage, incredible editing, perfect comedy, unbelievable scenery and the perfect blend of teaching without being boring at all. Bravo sir, Bravo.
Absolutely adore your big kid energy Xander. It's so refreshing to see an adult man be silly, confident, deferential and willing to learn all at once. I'm sure you don't imagine yourself as a role model, but you've got all the right vibes to inspire so thank you for sharing your experiences.
Unblinkingly action-packed, wonderful, 10/10 viewing. Absolutely loved your edit, so many shots I'm jelly of, so many laugh out loud moments I didn't capture, and so interesting to see the shots and edits that came out basically the same as mine (just about done now), and some that are completely different. I learned so much from you on this trip, and have a ton of respect for your focus on continuous learning. Can't wait for our next trip brother! PS Watching the pliers on the poop tip is so agonizing 😂
Thanks brother glad you enjoyed it :) I'm pretty happy how it turned out! Can't wait to see your edit! Looking forward to getting out with you again :) aye its funny to see the pliers in that shot :p
Talk to Xander about wearing a life jacket. For his safety and others that watch these videos and think it is a good idea not to wear a life jacket because Xander doesn't. Lead by example especially in times where people mimic what he and you do.
When you burn yourself instantly rub it with the back neck hairs grease. Just keep rubbing and getting the hair grease from the back of the head. It works like wonders avoiding blistering
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh! Hell of a fun time so far ill be back to finish the rest soon. Thanks for the poop tips & glad u found Waldo 🎣 gotta love the pretty ones 🍻
I said to myself "this is really long... I'll just skip around to the interesting parts" and then I watched the entire thing. AWESOME video and trip! Great editing, fun and just beautiful nature. Well done.
This was so satisfying and entertaining to watch! Definitely one of the most underrated camping-related youtube channels out there. Keep up the awesome videos, Xander!
Sitting here, in Tel-Aviv, beer in my hand and a great joy in my heart...watching your adventures is the closest thing to realy traveling, witch turned into a nightmare these days......you give us "Couch traveling" at its best...spiritually too.....thank you for everything you are
As a kid, My dog and I literally lived in the woods. Then schools, more schools, life, profession, cities, etc. Childhood memories were subsumed. Guess the all-knowing algorithm knew that and here I am. I will no longer resist: Subscribed. Thank you.
By far your best adventure yet. I love your solo trips, but the solid camaraderie between you and Jon made me shed a tear in memory of the adventures I had with best friends when we were young. These memories you have made together will never become too stale to recite, and will be an invaluable joy for you in old age.
This was amazing. I felt like I was on the adventure. The two of you had such good chemistry which made it even that much more enjoyable. I’m a city boy, but am enthralled by all of this.
Hey Xander just wanted to say how inspirational and fun your videos are they are honestly incredible the way you mix humour and entertainment together is incredible I especially love the * to catch a fish you have to be the fish line and your face 😂 thank you for inspiring my 15 year old self to go out and enjoy the wilderness love from Australia!
You guys are a blast to watch! Just gorgeous camera work, and who knew pasta water tea would be the next craze ;-) The caribou was magnificent as well as all the other great shots on this trip. Rock on gentleman and thanks SO much for it all!! 🙌Barret
I've watched everything Jon posts, and he put me on to your site...and now I'm enjoying all your trips too! I watch a multitude of wilderness, hiking, canoeing, and camping...and bushcraft...but frankly, many do too much talk-a-thon about useless stuff. As I watch yours and Jon's experiences, I really feel like I am there...and I feel like I know you both. Some day I will organize a UA-cam site and maybe even learn how to use my GoPro 7 Black! Yes...that and my cel phone are my Hollywood skills, however, it's about sharing more than anything, I think...so thanks for sharing. There really is nothing like a wilderness experience!
I've never camped before but I have always loved relaxing around a campfire and fishing. Watching your channel for the past few weeks has made me realize just how badly I want to go camping for a couple of nights.
Enjoyed this collaboration!♥️ Erin and Jon’s adventures at Lost Lakes are great to watch too. Good fishing, good paddling, good food and good times. Thanks so much!
this landscape is really great and nostalgic for me because i use to go camp in the forest with my dad. i live in Estonia and there are a lot of these small sorts of pine trees like in this video
Hey Everyone! Hope you enjoyed the Video! Tonight i'll be live at 7:00pm EST on the @Canoehound Adventures Podcast! Come hang out and ask some questions - It'll be a fun one :D ua-cam.com/video/oLgnfDP3wII/v-deo.html
Honestly, it is a treat I couldn't even imagine! Seventy minutes of relaxation and reflecting. Could it get any better? I doubt it. I also like the partnership as all of us, and you as well learned something new. Thanks for sharing, and keep safe! Tons of appreciation from BC.
This is my first Xander video and a good one it was. I enjoyed your wide eyed wanderlust and love of nature, and of course your great sense of humour. I’ve been following Lost Lake for quite a few years. Jon and Erin are awesome. I’m glad to add you to my list of adventurers. Looking forward to going through your library of past adventures and to future one’s. Thank you for sharing.
This is like the 4th video I've seen from Xander and one thing I absolutely love is his respect and love for nature. Making sure to fully appreciate what he uses and even seeing the remorse for having to use it is beautiful. To Xander I just want to say thank you for the amazing content and keep up the good work!
I just happened to catch you live on canoehound tonight and then jumped over here to watch your video. I've never watched your stuff before...and WOW! I loved it...the beauty of the landscape, the awesome wildlife, the humour, the camaraderie, the fish that got away and your appreciation for the entire experience. You and Jon made a great team - I enjoy Jon's respect and love for all things nature and I sense that love in your video too! Subscribed!
Wonderful! What a trip!! That rain!!! Beautiful locations. And the Caribou!! Wanted it to swim right over to you 😂 53:37 - 53:47 - stunning shots 👍🏻 Thank you both. Glad you enjoyed it as much as it showed Xander. ☺
The beginning of the day 5 had me speechless and just in pure appreciation for what you do , and what you are able to show us. I live in Texas and could never dream of seeing what you love to do! MUCH LOVE
YES!!! What a great episode! Love that you two teamed up! I watch both of your channels, and was really excited for this. I busted out laughing a few times also! Thanks guys, do this again!
The ways your subs are rising I’d start planning your own merch and survival gear.. I don’t feel u need to suffer without food or warmth to entertain. I loved the burgers steaks and new gear you would test. Keep up the good work. Love the positive comments from your followers.
Saw one of your videos and I quickly became a fan. Almost can feel as if I’m camping there with y’all. Your honest pure day by day blogs are so entertaining I can’t stop watching. This channel is gonna blow up. 10/10
I just couldn't imagine how much reoccurring thoughts I could process if I'm on this trip. How I wish I could do these things someday. My mind really need this. As always, thanks to this Xander! so nice feel like I'm always on your trip.
Congrats. Looks epic so far. Also with all the rain it looks like my canoe trip in sweden this year. I would do it any time again. Thanks for taking the time to let us take part. I will watch those Videos again when recovering from my upcoming surgery.
I made one trip to the BWCA in 2016 from Texas and it infected my soul. I live vicariously through yours and Jon’s videos weekly! Thank y’all for the amazing content!
Finally, after watching hundreds of camping adventures, someone actually addresses what having a No.2 in the woods is like...an appropriate demonstration sans naked and a quick where to dig etc. I give major marks for realism.... will subscribe for certain
1:08:45 I watched this whole thing and I loved it.. It is amazing how much one can vicariously learn from watching this, and it was an absolute treat to see your amazing photography and comraderie with John. Can't believe you guys got to see the aurora borealis! I guess that's one reason it is called the boreal forest.... Thank you again for the motivation. I am now looking to buy my own canoe and take it out on a lake 5 min away and do some nice fishing.
Glad you shared this adventure with Jon. Been following this guy for a while and like your channel look forward to every adventure you both post. And now I get to watch this trip twice from different angles, especially all the fish you failed to net, lol. Big request, do a winter trip with Jon and Joe Robinet, that would be epic and awesome. I'm sure Joe would be interested just have Jon ask him.
Just found your channel last night in my recommended, I’ve seen 3 videos so far and can’t wait to binge watch your channel 😁 definitely an underrated channel.. deserve more than 266K subs 🙌🏽
This is one of the best videos I‘ve seen on UA-cam. The sceneries, the story, the nature, the adventure combined with great cutting, pictures and a smooth narrative. Congratulations. Loved to watch it. Thanks.
New to your channel and I must complain! I need the full version of it please. This 1hr isn't enough. Absolutely love the energy, fishing, sightseeing and creatures-that includes the 2 two legged ones as well. You both are so respectful of your surroundings and it's inhabitants and you just gel so well. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming. Hugs
One hour long! Finally something of substance. I got sick of the endless, lovely, amazing shorts, I NEED a MOVIE of your adventures :D Thank you sir, love your content, the more the better
It's crazy, isn't it? I remember back before 100k watching you challenge yourself to clouds of mosquitoes or chilling colds on some 3-days, some 5-days, and even an 8 day! Now here we are watching the first Xander 12-day adventure! I have to say, I truly am proud of watching how you respected the challenge before you in the first few days yet grew to truly admire the adversity and beauty around you for the rest of the trip. Watching you bond like that has a magical effect that I cant really put into words. Here's to 200k and the eventual day we build that spaceship and explore the universe!
So addicted to your channel, I think I’ve officially watched all your videos. Your personality is what makes me keep coming back. Great job, 12 days is highly impressive!
What an awesome trip! I gotta admit that it took my 5 days to finish the video as I always watch your videos before I go to bed. Your videos are amazing to get me really relaxed. Anyway, keep the videos coming my dude! You're bringing joy to a lot of people including myself with this.
I've watched a lot of collabs from different views before but in this case the two of you did a great job in presenting two very different videos each enjoyable in their own right from the same trip. You have a new subscriber from me!
Dude, I loved the video. Trully, you're getting better and better. Love to see the progress in every iteration. Soon I hope you'll be making videos on the snow and I can't wait. Will be a year then from our first journey and there is still lot of place to roam through. Keep on kicking, this is working. Cheers my friend and good luck.
wow what an amazing trip. I watched this entire video from start to finish and was entertained the whole time, really puts some things into perspective and shows a world out there I am missing. Well done to you guys! great job
Hey Xander! I started watching your channel this month, somehow found it on UA-cam, i love all your videos, super entertaining to watch and I can relax to them after coming home from work. This video is by far the best one and this trip really put me into perspective what camping, canoeing and all the things you did are. I have never been to camping, idk if i can survive even one day but you, you went for 12 days and that is impressive. I would love to try camping because of you, please keep making these amazing adventures! Have a good one.
I have never been this invested in a UA-cam video over an hour long. Even when it comes to my usual channels unless it's a feature video, I'm like, "Oh man an hour long I hope it's entertaining the whole way." With your videos it's like, "Ahhh yes an hour long video of Xander's beautiful face". Your channel is like...the camping therapy that I'm not getting right now. Thanks for this.
So enjoyed this one. Great to see you two together. Loved the wild life. I think I felt a chill when you got so wet. Loved all the fires and skies. Well done you.
55:35 The way xander was just peacefully stirring his food and 2 secs later his friend yells “FUCK” has me dying😭😂 - in all seriousness hope he was ok.
Xander These videos you make and the adventures you go on are so good 😭 Kudos to you man for putting so much work into your craft!! I love every second :) It would be awesome to also see a map of where you are as you go. If you need help with that, I can show you my method. Hit me up :)
As a desert rat in Nevada any rain is welcome even when I am out on an adventure. That being said ... we had 3 inches drop in two days here recently (about a years worth of rain for my area) soaked through every piece of gear I had. I cannot imagine paddling through that kind of downpour. You sir, are a legend! What an experience with the epic wildlife, rapids, and food. Incredible adventure! Always impressed with the quality. On a side note that new rig for your action-cam takes some impressive footage through the rapids. Thanks for the link to Jon's Channel, looking forward to checking it out as well.
I think this has cemented this channel as the goat for camping. Clean footage, incredible editing, perfect comedy, unbelievable scenery and the perfect blend of teaching without being boring at all. Bravo sir, Bravo.
Agree. 1h+ never felt so short
Frl, I just found this channel and am very happy with the quality of it as a whole.

Haven’t started watching, and already know it’s going to be good because of the lengthy video 🤩
Thank you Budnick.

55:35 The way xander was just peacefully stirring his food and 2 secs later his friend yells “FUCK” has me dying😭😂 - in all seriousness hope he was ok.
He was fine. The cold water immediately helped immensely
@@XanderBudnick luckily there’s no shortage of water in Canada!

Love these long videos, also really enjoy the snow videos too! This channel is by far one of my favourite
What a video! Your videography/Content is always improving, somebody get this man a nat geo show for real!
Awesome trip! Maybe you could try watching The wild north for different ways to clean pike.
Good call
Xander These videos you make and the adventures you go on are so good 😭 Kudos to you man for putting so much work into your craft!! I love every second :)
It would be awesome to also see a map of where you are as you go. If you need help with that, I can show you my method. Hit me up :)
I love you guys for that, being kind to the fish.
the fact that you’re out there with no piece is brave as hell
My two favorite adventurers together. Yup...watching this one a couple of times.
You both have such amazing comradery! It would be a pleasure to adventure with you both!
