USPS warns of a texting scam imitating package delivery service

- According to Roseann Freitas of the Better Business Bureau (BBB), scammers send out the messages broadly knowing the odds are that many people have placed an online order of some sort on any given day and try to catch customers off guard.
Got one the same day and time I was expecting a package. These scammers are getting too good.

You just have to know how the USPS functions. #1. The USPS does not text anyone about an undeliverable package - EVER. #2. Go to USPS.gov and seek the info there. #3. The USPS sends or returns undeliverable letters and packages back to the SENDER.

The USPS will NEVER text you about an undeliverable letter or package sent to you. Undeliverable packages and letters are sent back to the senders.
As I’m typing right now I just got scammed I can’t believe how real the website looks I was looking forward to a expensive package and it said in the text that ur package shipping needs to be updated and I did and then asked for $1 too help pay protection fee if delivery doesn’t happen so I did … then 1hr later I check my bank account I see a transaction of $164 dollars my heart dropped I really hope I can get my money back from the bank I have to shut it down now I’m never trusting Nothing anymore people will take ur hard work money for anything .. 💔

Same thing happen to me and I paid $3. I kept looking at it and said something isn’t right about this so I contacted a friend about it. He said immediately it was a scam. I transferred my money and called the bank. This happen to me on yesterday
I did it too and it spent money on my card
Happened to me too and I feel so dumb. They took 300 dollars out of my account and I had to close my card and call my bank. Now I gotta go get a new card and change my passwords. All happening at 11 something at night. I really should have been more careful. Thankfully I don’t have bills to pay or it wasn’t thousands of dollars.

Fell for these last week, but I guess they don’t have the credit card info since it said, try again later. and no money was stolen
I got one last Friday, knew it was a scam right away because USPS doesn't do that.
I got 2 of these texts in one week. It's funny cause the website looked identical to the real deal but nothing on the site was click-able except for the part where I had to put in my info. Everything else was just text and images or usps icons and such.
I'm not a moron so I obviously didn't put anything in cause I never even ordered a package to begin with. But it looked believable and I'd fall for it if I didn't know any better

It's not that people are stupid, the sad true, is that every officials are corrupt, from the Children's Bureau, police officers, landline carriers, cellphone carrier's, electronic devices, DPSS, DCFS, children protection workers, social workers, medical provider, pediatrics, teachers, postal workers, physicians, priest etc.., To the Plummers, no one can be trusted, therefore, we need to learned to do things on our own, cooking, cleaning, secretary, including cutting our own haircuts etc .,
I don't have a cell phone, so text messages don't come through. But this morning I got a call that said "US Postal Service" but the phone number carried a local area code and prefix. I did answer, thinking it was a scam, but after I answered I only heard a lot (LOT) of voices in the background, like he (she) was sitting with many other sales people in a room. He didn't answer me, and I didn't say anything more than "hello." I hung up. I think that with Christmas coming, there will be a lot of these calls, and people will think a package has been undelivered for Christmas and will bite on it. I looked it up, and found that the post office will not call you. Usually they leave a note in your box that there is a package that you must pick up. I checked the phone number and it doesn't match.
got one and thought it was real, thought it was my mom and somehow texted me. imagine i had my debit card access, im a 14 year old and was not aware of the scam of the time. i learned from one video that usps companies dont go out of the way, and i never contacted usps so yea, i literally almost got scammed since im a kid and dont have access to my card. wouldve tried it, and would have gotten scammed, literally a dumb and a smart way to do this. literally got one again and messasged back saying, you tried, but you are not reported lol. im not falling for it a second time
I think it only works with credit cards they don’t accept debits for some reason or my debit cards are invicible to scams
I put everything in except the Card info, but they have my address, cell phone number and email… should I do anything, I don’t know if I should call and cancel anything

I got a similar text this morning and now I’m scared
How are they getting this info? I have never received one of these messages and the one time I send something in years, I get this message the next day exactly during the timeframe of the delivery. They have a breach of their system.
Data breaches happen all the time and scammers buy up whatever they can get
I got one today sayin that my address was incorrect that my package couldnt be deliver cause of that and they wanted to know my full info and wanted me to put my card's info and pay a 3 dllr redelivery fee
I put all my info , cause I was expecting a delivery today . But when it asked for the 3$ that’s where I stopped .

@@ricogil2932 well I got one or two scams emails in my email every 2 or 3 days....but I am not stupid no more. There is a Facebook login scam too going on and I see that in my junk mail. It looks real, but it's a scam.

I got this message yesterday. One of my packages was supposed to be delivered yesterday. Afternoon. It never came. But got this message around 10am. But it showed up on my phone as spam. This happened to me before about a month ago also. A package was running late. Got the same message. Can't remember if I clicked the link or not. I was asleep when I received it. Sometimes I respond to text messages in between sleep, without realizing. Till I wake up. Look at my phone. When did I respond to this?

How do u know it’s fake check the app if there isn’t a message saying delay then it’s fake also report and block them

I think I’m screwed cause I put my card and my address in. I did freeze my card so no one uses it just in case but now I have to wait for a couple of days to get a new card :/

i JUST got one of my package today and USPS knows that they don't message you unless if you sign up first for notifications so here's a message for you scammers: STOP trying to intimidate the USPS and get a real job

I just got a scam message it was so fake dumb scammers one usps will not message you unless you request that service
i know these are fake because i get them at 3am
