“There is good in every matter”. This is true. I have sought God’s wisdom and guidance all my life and this has brought me at 86 years old to a close fellowship with my Creator. All you say is the glorious reality of every believer. I am a 50 year student of the story of JOB. In the beginning I hated this story, but a teacher i respected convinced me of the integrity of scripture. Now I love Job’s story. Four thousand years ago he became, in my belief, the father of prayer. All the evil God used to test Job, purified his prayer. In my life now, I bless EVERYTHING that stretches me, humbles me, strips me of all but faith. Thank you for teaching the goodness of God’s testing and training. May Allah bless all you share with us, making you a fruitful tree in His garden.
SubhanAllah! What a profound and heartfelt reflection. Your journey of faith, trust, and love for Allah’s wisdom is truly inspiring. The story of Prophet Ayyub, (peace be upon him) is indeed a timeless reminder of patience, humility, and unwavering trust in Allah’s plan. Your perspective on embracing trials as a way of purification and closeness to Allah is a lesson for all of us. Tests, as difficult as they may seem, strip us of everything except faith, reminding us that Allah is sufficient for us. May Allah continue to bless you with wisdom, health, and a deep connection with Him. Your words have planted a seed of faith and inspiration for many. JazakAllah khair for sharing this beautiful reflection.
Job was indeed humble, patient and trusting, but his story is far far beyond these glories of faith. The issue is INTEGRITY. Job never spoke ritual words to God. His friends and his wife wanted him to bless God for the genocide in Salem. Job was willing to ACCEPT God’s test but in all honesty he could not bless the horrors. Four thousand years ago the dominant religious idea was that pain was punishment for sin. Job did not initially debate this. He simply wanted to know what sin he had committed. HE HAD SEEN THE CONVERSATION IN HEAVEN. Should he believe God’s testimony as to his wholeness and decency, or should he conform to an era specific ritual, a general confession of inadequacy? His final words, his deposition, caused a young man to rant outrageously, wanting Job dead. When that young man said “GOD WILL NOT ANSWER!” at that moment God answered. This is a story for NOW. Genocide is suicide for all who support it. God demonstrated His own values, giving Job the justice the law required AND making him a voice for humanity FOREVER!
