Hey Jack, just came across your channel and really enjoyed the first 3 videos. Just wanted to share with you a quick fix for the steering wheel buttons. If you remove the steering wheel, and fit a momo or similar with no buttons, this will stop the issue of the oem buttons not working. Hope that helps!
I bought a cheap unit like a this, even worked wireless for apple car play, it was very good. But I did experience the same difficulty in the sun, plus after 6 months it just kept rebooting as it maybe got too hot? But basically you'd be ok for ages then it would just reboot over and over... Steering wheel controls on these are just impossible too.
@@tjscotton could be. I have purchased a more expensive pioneer unit but it was hopeless and had nowhere near the features or ease of use... So I have sent that back. Now waiting on an atoto a6 which appears to be a good compromise. More reliable hopefully but also better featured.
I found (on my Rover/ BMW unit) that the steering wheel controls where separate to "normal" radio wiring loom and needed some tweaking and splicing (and an additional component) ... or just tape the remote to your steering wheel like i ended up doing. 😉🤣 Great video. :)
Unfortunately not. It’s one of the draw backs of the cheap Chinese units is they are usually slightly bigger than the standard size. If I’d bought a pioneer unit for example I don’t think fitment would have been an issue
great vid and put that in my basket haha , what seat and rails did you use as looks great compared to the sprint.

Thanks Mattius, glad you’ve enjoyed the videos! I’m determined to get the buttons working… when I can be bothered 😅

Good to hear. My thought is I can buy 3 or 4 of these before getting anywhere near a popular brand cost

Couldn't you just unplug the Radio and put the trim on from the rear? That's how I've done it in most cases 😅
