@Frank Castle I disagree, there are simply too many book established key scenarios that point towards Lyanna Stark being Jon Snow's mother. HBO wanted at least ten seasons, which would have solved many of the major issues. David and Dan were the ones who said, “we can do it in less.” They were wrong.
The hilarious thing is that it’s almost certain that the red priest on board has done some kind of magic to the horn so that if it’s blown nobody in the iron fleet or the iron islands will be in control of the Dragons. It’s clear in the book that the horn has an owner and the owner doesn’t have to be the one who blows it. Therefore there is some kind of magic involved with the ownership of it
@@Divinemakyr Im inclined to agree. Euron would not send Victarion with the horn if it wasnt bound to euron. We will have to see what Euron has planned.

omg waaaa the show couldn't be exactly like the books. Go cry about it. Or better yet learn a thing or two about film and understand why changes always have to be made when adapting literature.
Just because the show has to be different, doesn't mean the show has to be garbage. May be you need to get off the blind fanboy bandwagon. Everyone here loves the series, and if so many people are disappointed, you need to accept that the writing for the show has been shit for the last 2 seasons.
Ya know what would be a fun twist - that the Dusky Woman is the one who infected Victarion's hand in the last book, and that she did this as a result of never washing her hands. She'll only infect him again when she bleeds him this time. It's such a small way to kill such a big man - hilarious because it describes how overwhelmingly stupid Victarion is. He knows that Euron's gifts are poisoned, but he trusts this strange lady regardless.
@Frank Castle, For sure. If blood is the reagent, he could just as easy swap Victarion's for another's. For that matter though, so could the Dusky Woman. Again, "dumb as a stump"
@The Law Well, since getting Moqorro on board his hand healed and his fleet grew exponentially. If we're talking facts and not speculation, Victarion is in a really good place. He's an experienced battle commander with a huge fleet going to a city ravaged by war and instability. Also, unlike Stannis, he doesn't have the morals to hesitate when the priest demands sacrifice, which makes his magic stronger.
@The Law I don't know why Euron would send his whole fleet to die. He surely must trust Victarion somewhat, given that he told him about his plans to get dragons and all. Also Victarion has proved loyal in the past, helping Euron get the Shield Islands. It seems to me like Euron has no idea his brother hates him.
@The Law I've read The Forsaken. It's great. Still, just because Euron doesn't care about the ironborn doesn't mean he doesn't recognize them as valuable in achieving his goal. Of course it's possible that Victarion is doomed, but I don't think GRRM would make him a POV if he wasn't really important to the story going forward. Think about Quentyn Martell. He already traveled to Essos looking for Daenerys and got roasted by a dragon. Do you really think GRRM would do the same storyline twice?
@The Law What if Barristan Selmy forges an alliance with Vic? Remember how Daenerys has been looking for a fleet since book 2? He could be the way for Dany to reach Westeros. I really like what you're predicting but I think George could be have something even more unexpected in mind.
i don't think it will work, blowing the horn might not be all that is needed to controll the dragons, maybe it's just one part of the ritual, or maybe it will only work if one of valyrian blood sounds it.
There must be more to it, Euron would not give up this horn you spent a life time looking forward and also supposedly has the power to tame dragons. Victarion called Euron a fool for giving him the horn, a red flag there. Euron is no fool, he has planned for something else. This reading reminds us that Euron has already betrayed Victarion to get what he wants whilst leaving all the heavy lifting to Victarion. Could this be another betrayal of our favourite iron born?
Even before the series became the biggest book in the world every book took about five years or so to write. This book is probably going to be half as big again as the biggest book in the series. Probably 150 170 chapters at least. So his usual writing time, plus a bigger book, plus being the worlds most in demand Author who is also involved with TV and all the offshoots of the ice and fire series in terms of merchandise etc etc. Was always going to take a long time. In many ways the success of the show has probably stolen the time he would have used to write
I think the book readers deserve a dialogue from George of what's going on in the books to get us back up to speed. I read DwD BEFORE THE TV SHOW STARTED

George I will thoroughly enjoy these well earned 9 minutes
I needed to hear this after the travesty HBO did with the final season...
Fernando Simon Music D&D not HBO
Fernando Simon Music 👍
HBO wanted at least ten seasons, which would have solved many of the major issues.
David and Dan were the ones who said, “we can do it in less.” They were wrong.
Crybaby bitch
Benioff and Weiss
Bravo 👏🏻 bravo 👏🏻 can’t wait for the full release !!!!
Good luck waiting forever
See you in 12 years
Lol.
Therefore there is some kind of magic involved with the ownership of it
Euron is most likely the owner.
@@Divinemakyr Im inclined to agree. Euron would not send Victarion with the horn if it wasnt bound to euron. We will have to see what Euron has planned.
@@flahoo2807 As GRRM says, Victarion is not the sharpest blade in the armory. He believes blowing the horn will make him control the dragons, but Euron is the smart one and knows who the true owner is and it's not Victarion.
@@feonor26 I think Victarion has some skepticism especially since Moquorro has clarified the rules of the horn more. I think there is going to be pandemonium in the wake of this, because you have Victarion as one of the dumbest characters and Euron as a conniving blasphemer with probably real magic. Its gonna be really great. He will have someone blow the horn and its going to bring hellfire to meereen.
@@flahoo2807 I just want the Winds of Winter in my hands now. I have given up hope of Dreams of Spring, but let me at least have The Winds of Winter and I can make up the end in my head on my own. Thats all I ask.
I love hearing authors read their own work. They should get George to do the audiobooks, but I doubt he will because of time.
Story writers are not always the great story tellers.
Man he is amazing!
I wanna read this damn book man. Hope it comes out soon.
Whoo thanks for this! More GRRM clips please!
This book needs to come soon.
Hehehheeh
@@aaalucasaalucas8788hehehehe
heres a little reminder its been half a decade
All hail the one and only Song of Ice and Fire!
Such a great writer. I can’t for the release of every book. That will be the only way to forget about the horrible fanfiction D&D created.
Arpad Szabo oh man
Have you seen the 5th episode?
omg waaaa the show couldn't be exactly like the books.
@@Oswald_Thatendswald Bullshit. season 1-4 worked just fine.
@@mizusecond And a fucking ton of changes were made from the books too, so thanks for proving my point.
Came here to have my faith in the series restored after that tragedy of a series finale.
5:00.
GOD DAMN!
Look at those people. Never seen this many so attentive and unflinching.
Respect to Roy Dotrice but this too much.
2:22 I was scared, I thought the lady is gonna laugh again
Victarion is my favourite character
Stannis
Ppl in the audience who only saw the show are like "Wtf is he talking about", hahahahaha i love it.
xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Fans can have little a Winds of Winter as a treat.
I love the fact that these videos of GRRM are being recommended to me after that disappointing final season of the TV show.
This was three years ago. Still not released haha
That's just this particular upload. This interview/reading is actually from 2012.
George doesn’t write ........He sings ♥️
Truly fantastic writing!
Oh, George.
Please save us.
3:42 Ya damn right! That's all of us listening to George.
Damn!!! This man knows his craft.
I feel like I'm in elementary school again, someone reading to me
This little snippet was better than the entire season 7 and 8 of the tv show
3 years ago, *sad noises*
Can he do an audio book? Like seriously I wanna hear just him read it
Just a taste...with a lingering after taste..
D&D preferred to spend 8 years ruining potentially the best show rather than 13 on the actual best show.
Great to see that Martins writing is as good as ever. Age did not take his wits
Anyone after Game of Thrones ended?
I swear i wanted to hear Moqorro's voice so bad in the TV show but it wasn't possible.
I wish the show was longer so they could include Victarion stuff, some of my favorite chapters.
I love listening to this man read his work! Fantastic
They’re all in trance
Victarion will be the king of the iron islands!
@The Law he has the red priest with him though
*I require more*
Honestly I would have loved George narrate all audiobooks of ASOIAF, but he would never finish the series then sadly.
So my theory is that they will successfully blow the horn and summon rhaegal and viserion nearby in Meereen
i don't think it will work, blowing the horn might not be all that is needed to controll the dragons, maybe it's just one part of the ritual, or maybe it will only work if one of valyrian blood sounds it.
I think he didn't count on Victarion finding the red priest maqorro. who seems to have changed ownership of the horn.
@@tec5412
"Euron's gifts are poisoned."
Moqorro may very well be deceiving him, using him as a means to an end to get the horn to Daenerys safe and sound
It’s been 2 years and the book still hasn’t come out yet.
@@conors4430
There was 2 years in between the first 3 books..
@@coldhands2802
So what. Don't care how long it takes as long as it's good when it comes out
@@conors4430, he should have splitted WoW into two books. Why all the need to have seven books, not the eight?
@@coldhands2802 Not true, it actually took 6 each as they were already written. The 2 years between were editing and other shit
You can really tell which of the audience members are fully engrossed, and which are completely confused.
I'm too hyped for this book, have been for 3 years.
3 years? oh my sweet summer child.
Jack in the books we call them green children.
I have small hope that george will finish Winds and Spring. As small as it is, its there.
George please mend what those writers did to your work.
To lose this man would ruin society
Martin, finish the damn book.....God.
I would like him to narrate the winds when it comes out
George is such a good writer.
George: euron
Caps: ~urine~
Can't wait, I am curious to see how different it will be from the show.
I think the book readers deserve a dialogue from George of what's going on in the books to get us back up to speed. I read DwD BEFORE THE TV SHOW STARTED
I finished the books just before season 8 started and I want a full recap already! Moving onto Fire and Blood and A World of Ice and Fire 🔥
book : iron borns are some badass lovecraftian vikings with amongst them pure badasses like Victarion or mystical psychopathic maniacs warlords like Euron.
show : iron borns are those weak-ass sea-pikeys who piss off people from time to time. And Euron is just some dude.
Awesome. I can see it all. I knew the brute was gonna be bald. Cant wait
I didn't know Victarian stole the horn.
It takes me 20 minutes to read a single chapter, im too slow holy shit
That’s faster than average. Most are like half an hour, it’s not an easy read a lot of the time
@@henryruston9572 For a AFFC chapter, 20 minutes could be average, but the average for the other asoiaf books is definitively under that, at least I hope so.
