That was me too! As she was reading the instructions they were busy not following them, and it cracked me up! As for the Stimtastic family moment, it was so beautiful! It was like they were finally speaking her language, instead of getting her to speak ours. They joined her, in her reality, making a new connection. I loved it so much!!!
Wait what's bitcoin it says it's a currency thing but their going to a event somewhere sensory friendly so what is it a different bitcoin type of place is there 2 types or something??
Jascelyn Holland I think you’re talking about VidCon, which does kind of sound like bitcoin. VidCon is like a convention that you tubers go to and they can go to seminars and learn more about creating for UA-cam.
“Maybe your voice is always lost”. This made me literally bawl my eyes out. My nephew is non verbal CP kid. He stims like this and I desperately want to understand what he’s communicating, desperately.
Hi Fathering Autism family!! I am a therapist who works with kids with ASD and we often choose to join our kiddos in their verbalizations because we work from a relationship-based perspective, and we’ve found it leads to great moments! I’ve even had some kids start a call and response type of engagement with a therapist (if they’re able) with their preferred sounds. You guys are the experts on what works for your family and specifically for Abbie, but I love that you share your willingness to always try new things. This is a such a beautiful moment, thanks for sharing! Love your channel (:
When you stemmed with her it’s like she was not afraid to do it, to me she seemed like she had to keep walking or moving just to not feel like she was in trouble for something she is doing stems can be stopped but you guys made it fun for her and that is a precious moment she will remember.
When you all stimmed together and Abbie smiled...I couldn’t help but smile with her!! She looked like a “typical” teenager getting embarrassed by her family but also loving the attention. What a wonderful moment!
That was so beautiful seeing the connection between you all when you joined her stim. Please don't worry that joining with her stimming will reinforce it. We've joined our son's stims for years, and the more we did it the more he would connect with us and in the long run the less he would stim. He went from hardly talking to being fully verbal and very social.
That was like the most relatable moment ever! She's busy reading the instructions and they're busy not following them. The look on their faces was too funny!
The moment of her hiding her face when all of you started vocal stimming with her was an amazing moment!!! The smile on her face...the seemingly embarrassed reaction...do you think that’s what the reaction was? Embarrassment? I don’t recall ever seeing her in videos display that kind of reaction.
I think she felt connected in a way she may not have felt before, like they were finally speaking her language, not just getting her to speak ours. It was precious! When Asa showed them stimming with her, and they all had their hands up to their mouths, like her, it cracked me up! I just assumed they were just making the same sounds...too cute! 💜
I get really embarrased if people acknowledge my stims, if they pointed them out when i was doing them i’d react the same. Stimming isnt a concious thing for me so for someone to acknolwdge it in the moment means they are noticing and pointing out my anxiety, sensory difficuties and the fact my body behaves differenltt to cope. Its also ironic because it is like the person understands you that little bit better.
@@penglingwhisperer3382 I totally get you! It's embarrassing say first, but if someone is kind about it, you can have a chance to understand each other better. Life is all about the learning process, so don't let it get you down! 😊
I’ve had a week or so without videos. I’ve been in a low place and just didn’t want to do anything. Then I come back on and watch until the the end of this video. Oh my gosh! You lifted me straight up. I haven’t smiled like that in a long time. You got a look that said “you guys are crazy” and it changed to “guys, stop. Just let me do it alone!”😂 Thank you for always making me smile!
Ive rewatched several times just smiling at the part where abbie hides her face in her shirt when you are participating in with her stimming and it was the sweetest and most innocent reaction i have seen… brought emotional happy tears to my eyes!!! You are such a beautiful and supportive family! Just such an inspiration
@@eskil3394 It was like she felt like they were joining her in her reality, instead of them trying to bring her into ours. Like they were speaking her language, not just making her speak ours. It was beautiful! 👍
The biggest BIGGEST smile! I loved this vlog so so much :) it defiantly made me happy! A family that sticks together... stays together! Also.. Asa I totally called the whole “we packed away our pots, pans and Priscilla’s!” Y’all truly make my day!
As per our occupational therapist’s request we have been mimicking our sons stimming behaviours in hopes to promote eye contact and or a positive reaction. Seeing their reactions is the best part! LOVED this vlog!
I almost overflowed with happiness when she got embarrassed and smiled and hid from them it was the cutest thing in the world! And I think that when they did I think she liked it a little but because she didnt feel so different she felt the same as her family!! And for you guys to do that and not be embarrassed yourselves just because you love her that much is so amazing not many families would do even half of what you do for her!!
I dont normally comment but just wanted to say that I love who ever did the captions for this video! Normally when Abbie does her verbal stim, the captions read yelling, grunting, or noises. However, with this video they read verbal stimming. I hope I continue to see that in the upcoming videos!
You all stimming with Abbie and her reaction made me cry and smile at the same time straight away right till the end. That was one of the most wholesome and beautiful things I've seen in my life.
Aw, I wonder if Abbie is starting to realise something is going on, with the moving/packing boxes. The joint stimming seemed to work, her smile is everything 😊
I was thinking the same thing. Abbie knows that she will be a different place than the current one she feels safe and comfortable in. She is not looking forward to the adjustment.
I genuinely think she enjoyed you guys stimming with her it was the cutest thing I've ever seen I love your channel and I love your family you are all amazing people!
That. Was. SOOOO worth it. I am in tears from laughter and my heart being warmed. You guys effing rock and you make every day better for so many people. You're all literally my heroes
I have always wanted to suggest this but just didnt feel comfortable for some reason. We always stimmed with my nephew and it comforted him and definitely DEFINITELY lightened the severity of his stims! We are always expecting our autistic children to adapt to our language weather its signing, speaking, etc. For our Jacob stimming with him brings him a lot of comfort. There is no expectation of him adapting or attempting to communicate with us. Our ABA therapist told us it is the equivalent of living your entire life surrounded by people who spoke a completely different language than you. Some parents have a fear that stimming with their child will cause them to stim more. For us, that was the farthest thing from the truth. YOu arent reinforcing a behavior. Stims arent behaviors. YOu tell us that all the time. That look on her face was like. FINALLY!
I don't have a family member with Autism or anything, but I'm learning to be a Special Ed teacher, and we had a course on Autism where we learned about that exact thing! It was so cool to see the Maass' putting it into practice and to see Abbie's reaction! It really seemed like there was a shared space there between all of them and a really natural form of communication! So awesome to see, and Abbie's smile is priceless!
That's exactly what I thought! I told a few other commenters that it seemed like, for once, they were speaking her language, instead of making her speak ours. As if they had joined her, in her reality... I'm so glad you shared your story and I totally understand why you didn't suggest it before, you never know how something like that might sound. Someone might have thought you were making light of their stimming or even making fun of it, but that's not the case at all! I wonder if there are any other videos of folks doing it? Abbie was so adorable!!!
@@IAmSuzyQ Yes exactly right. And it does feel strange at first to stim with them because it feels to US like we are mocking them. But when you see how they respond, especially when you just sit and rock with them quietly or whatever stims they have...its really cool. I dont know if we would have ever really stimmed with Jacob if we hadnt watched his twin brother stim with him basically his whole life. I wish youtube had been a "thing" when the twins were little. It would have been amazing to share that with the world. No other bond like a twin bond!
That was amazing! Especially at the end when you said can I give dad a hug you can hear in her stim shes trying to communicate with you and say yes and when you said i love ya, I could hear abbie trying to say I love you too. You are an incredible family
Nanny’s story was priceless. What a sweet person she is and so patient with Abby. The stimming made me laugh out loud. You might be onto something, lol. Hope all comes together for your new house. Sending lots of hugs 🤗
When y'all were stimming with her I caught myself stimming right along with you! Loved her little embarrassed teenage "let me hide inside my shirt" moment!
I usually watch the entire vlog but when it got to that 12:45 point, I understood why you told us to go there if we weren't going to watch all of it. That was very sweet. Abbie loved it and it seemed clear that it was a way to really connect with her. Her smile of surprise was priceless and then pulling her shirt over her head - too cute.
That was so cute when she covered her face. That was such a reaction a kid would have if they were embarrassed and now she is doing it because she likes you guys doing it too.
Wow! What a great reaction to you guys starting to stim! She clearly recognized it and genuinely seemed to enjoy you guys doing it with her! I had wondered about whether that would be worthwhile to do and curious whether it would bother her or not. Obviously she's not getting the same physical sensation whne you guys do it, but the aural qualities are still there, I'm sure she enjoys hearing how your voices change the way hers does when she puts her arm/hand near her mouth. What a lovely way to end the day.
When you guys started stimming together and Abbie just started smiling and giving you all the faces I just laughed so hard the whole time, I cant imagine how happy and shocked she was. I imagine she felt really reassured with her communication and connection with you, so happy you guys thought of doing it. Might be something you need to try in the car to help calm her a little maybe? It might reassure her in a way she feels she needs while being in the vehicle.
I love her face when you guys all made the stem noise with her!!! She looks so happy! I bet she thought you were all crazy! I could not stop smiling! Beautiful girl
I haven't been watching your blogs for long but Abi's reaction to your stimming is the most immediate and pronounced reaction I have ever seen her make to you. It was beautiful.
I live in Scotland and work in a pre school nursery and when we are working with children with autism we do something called ‘intensive interactions’ which is basically copying everything the child does, noises and movements. It is a great way to communicate with the child and they really respond positively to it! Abigails reaction to you all copying her was amazing, I love watching your vlogs they are informative as well as entertaining, thank you x
Nanny is awesome. I feel she doesn't work with Abbie, she loves and understands her and is an extension of the family. Miss Brandy is awesome too bit fees like a different dynamic. ( Miss Brandy is just brilliant I'm in no way saying she doesn't love Abs , just the dynamic is different)

Your family and every single post you all share make my whole day brighter. I am so grateful I came across your channel because it has truly helped brighten the dark place I am currently in. So thank you all so much.
The story that nanny told with the shoes was so funny. When everyone did the yelling stim with Abbie was priceless. I love her reaction. She looked at everyone like what are you doing? Then later she looked like she was having fun with it. You never know maybe you reinforced the behavior or maybe she will be like maybe I shouldn't do that.
I don't have a family member with Autism or anything, but I'm learning to be a Special Ed teacher, and we had a course on Autism where we learned about joining stimming. This so sweet you guys stimming with her! Those hugs especially to her brother are so precious 😊 I couldn't help laugh at crazy nanny saying she chucked her shoes because of the cupcake 😂 love you Abbie girl you rock 😘
Seeing Abbies reaction to you all stimming with her MADE MY DAY. I am in summer classes in college and I've done homework all day. This has made it all worth it!

It's just contagious!❤❤❤❤ Also- Asa: time for bed Abbie: nods head no Asa: ya you didn't sleep last night either Abbie: smirks 😏 🤣😂🤣❤
Genius to try the chorale of dinosaur roars. Abbie is too cute. Way to go Crazy Nanny for refusing to be manipulated. Abbie is a smart girl and she was pulling out all the stops to get her way. It is a great thing to have behavioral expectations of autistic kids and watch them rise to that level of expectation!
When you guys started stimming back, that was such a sweet loving moment. I almost feel like she felt the connection and acceptance. Maybe you can do that on the flight, too! ❤️

The family stimming was so awesome ! And Abbie’s reaction was priceless! Had to watch it again. Just love this family’s vlogs. Positive attitude in every situation.
Your family and every single post you all share make my whole day brighter. I am so grateful I came across your channel because it has truly helped brighten the dark place I am currently in. So thank you all so much.
That is TOO CUTE! she's like " why are YOU guys doing it? "Lol
Abbie‘s reaction to the you guys repeating her vocal stem and then getting embarrassed was sooooooooo cute!
Abby melted my heart with her reaction. She is starting to get such a personality now. Love you guys!
That was beyond sweet. I loved Abbie's reaction to you stimming with her. It's awesome that you have her reaction on video. Thanks for sharing
I love how you allow us to see Abbie's moments of growth. Her smile makes my Heart so happy!!!
Awe. Loves the family stoning with Abby and she really seemed to enjoy it too. So so cute. Warms the heart. ❤️
I’m totally crying happy tears from the stinking together part!! Cutest thing ever!!
It was so cool to see you guys putting it into practice and to see Abbie's reaction! It really seemed like there was a shared space there between all of you and a really natural form of communication!
So awesome to see, and Abbie's smile is priceless!
My new favorite vlog!!
Aww that smile is just adorable!! I love Abbies smiles!! Just love your family!!
her reaction was SO precious!!! and then she looked like she was thinking “i’m usually the only one that does this, why are you all doing it?” abbie is the cutest.
This so sweet you guys stimming with her! Those hugs especially to her brother are so precious 😊 I couldn't help laugh at crazy nanny saying she chucked her shoes because of the cupcake 😂 love you Abbie girl you rock 😘
Oh my gosh that was so cute when y’all were doing the stimming. That smile .....so in love with this sweet girl 🥰
Seeing Abbies reaction to you all stimming with her MADE MY DAY. I am in summer classes in college and I've done homework all day. This has made it all worth it!

When you asked her to watch a movie... I swear @ 10:48 she said “over here” clear as day...
Why wouldn't we watch the whole vlog? I am hooked on your video's, love the fam and more educated about autism. Thank you! Thank you!
Your vlogs make my day, especially today with Abbie she’s so precious. A family that stims together stays together! Love you guys! ❤️
Okay my favorite video use to be Abbie at the beach. Playing free and running and laughing and splashing. But, that smile and adorable covering her face moment when you guys were stimming with her was just priceless. What a precious smile she has too! Cant help but smile with her! It's just contagious!❤❤❤❤
Also-
Asa: time for bed
Abbie: nods head no
Asa: ya you didn't sleep last night either
Abbie: smirks 😏
🤣😂🤣❤
Genius to try the chorale of dinosaur roars. Abbie is too cute. Way to go Crazy Nanny for refusing to be manipulated. Abbie is a smart girl and she was pulling out all the stops to get her way. It is a great thing to have behavioral expectations of autistic kids and watch them rise to that level of expectation!
When you guys started stimming back, that was such a sweet loving moment. I almost feel like she felt the connection and acceptance. Maybe you can do that on the flight, too! ❤️
That was so cute!!
This is the most wholesome comment section I've ever had the pleasure of being a part of.
Y’all are so cute. Y’all stimming with her was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
Priscilla!! You are absolutely BEAUTIFUL fresh faced!!! You are a natural beauty, and you are killing it with your weight loss!!! Of course you were always beautiful, but you can really see how far you’ve come!!! Congrats girl, you’re such an inspiration 💕 I just adore you guys!!!
So sweet!
Everything is out and off the walls... it echoes more. The sounds are different. Could that be a reason?
You all stimming together was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen! The laughter was contagious!
You guys are awesomely real and seem able to make the most of every moment!
That was the absolute cutest when y'all were stimming together! That look she had on her face was just so sweet, it made my day!!! Love ur family!
I have the biggest smile on my face! That is so adorable. Her smile and laugh brightens my day. 😍☺
That was the most precious thing EVER!!!!! Me and my girls just love Abbie
Yeah I think she was a bit shy at first but her face and mine blossomed. It reminds me of my nieces playing in my wheelchair and pushing me. They love it. It's completely normal to them. Thank you for sharing this magical family moment. Literally goosebumps. ☺
Everyone stimming and seeing Abbie’s beautiful face smile is amazing! Gave me such a smile to see her smile
I joined to be one of your patreon peeps today!! "IM SO EXCITED"!!
