Thanks I found this very helpful , I understood what you where saying & as new to sound switch I then need to assign the lights to DMX channels to the grid etc
Late to the party, but thanks much! Great video and much neede. Thanks for keeping it simple. I was fine with simple autoscripting, but for some tracks want something more, blackout for the breakdown on some tracks (fun when a track goes silent for a moment and the lights all go out too, creates a nice WTF? moment). Trying to understand what goes in some straightforward way is always a challenge with Denon's great products with piss poor documentation. Now to go back and try some fancier scripting with my GigBar 2s.
what should i do if i want to programe lights that are not in the list? like the laser disco ball that i bought from ebay? or the simple lasers from ebay? i cant find their names on the list, they are brandless
What's up quilla333 and thanks for watching and please subscribe. There are 'generic' lights in SoundSwitch that you can set up, but it will be a trail-and-error to find out what works best for your fixtures. In order to get the most out of your lights, it's best to try and find out the make/model. Do an image search online to see if any of the markings match to give you an idea of who made them.
@@DjVloggers I checked last night and found in one of them the brand and model and got it working. The only thing if I make it run in auto the color don't change. But at least is a first step
Is there a ' fixture Creator' tool? Like if I have a china light that is not on the list where I can input my own channels and what they do and save it as a light?
Hi Charles and thanks for watching. The creators of SoundSwitch are extremely attentive to their customers. If the fixture isn't listed they'll be happy to research and add it to their database. Thanks again for watching and please subscribe.
@@DjVloggers ok thank you for the reply.. it's just the china light are not even proud to put a name on their light. I would be just sending over a screen shot of the break down of each ch for them to input it for me . Would be nice if they let us do that. Then possibly share that file with them.
@@wcjc99 Many times, the China lights are knockoffs of a namebrand fixture. It might be a good idea to compare your fixture to others and find out what is close/same as yours. With that you can test to see if the settings for the namebrand light works for yours. Another option is searching Soundswitch's listing for 'Generic' lights. Perhaps the specs on one of the light specs is similar to yours and will work. Good luck!
@@DjVloggers thank you. Ok last question I promise. With the generic lights, And the name brand ones can I see the brake down of what the channel functions are before adding it?.
@@wcjc99 No problem Charles. Usually your light would come with a manual that breaks down what features/functions that are controled by each DMX channel (i.e. If your light is set up in 10 Channel Mode, Channel 3 controls the color BLUE). Hopefully your lights came with a manual. If so, then you can go online and compare it's DMX features/functions settings with another light (most namebrand light will have the owner's manuals on their website). QUESTION: Did you order your lights online? If so, share the link. Perhaps I can help troubleshoot.
What's up Antweezy and thanks for watching. Yes, you do have the option to change your colour schemes in the advance tab. Soundswitch is free to download so that you can check out the features.
Hi Brian, and thanks for watching! iLok is included with the SoundSwitch download. I'm using a Mac and iLok was embedded in the install process. For testing purposes, I installed it on a Windows laptop and it appears to be the same. Good luck and please subscribe.
Nice work!
Thanks for watching. The 2.2 release is phenominal. Keep up the great work!
