i guessed an Oni correctly last night on a single piece of evidence based on its behavior and what ive learned from watching these videos. Keep grinding Insym
I will say, having a 'truck person' is handy for huge maps like asylum and highschool, as long as you're actually using the tech like the motion sensors and tripod cameras and sound sensors, because they can help to narrow down the ghost room early, monitor it for evidence while everyone else is still setting up more equipment or running other tests, and can track everyone's position in real time to help them find items and important locations or even track the ghost itself but yeah, AS someone who prefers to play 'the guy in the chair', we're useless on small maps so I just join the rest of the team for those But on HS and full asylum? Truck time, baby~
I think the thing you're missing with some items is the value of the range to newer / easier spooked players. With experience and solo play, tier 1 is definitely superior for some items. But for people without more intricate game knowledge some of these tier 2s would be really helpful. Especially the thermometer. If you don't know about using the temperature rising/falling to find the ghost room the tier 2 is *huge*. As for the UV, in multiplayer you could potentially scan faster while letting someone else with a camera take the pictures, and it'd help those more easily spooked players be useful to the team as they could look for that evidence from a distance. That's that reason why I feel like they've added upgrades for, "truck dwellers", it's letting someone who's been scared still be of use to the team! I feel like a lot of these upgrades are targeted at less experienced players, and I honestly love that. This game genuinely does scare some people, and now there's even less reason to get upset with them.
Insym, the Paramic is not hearing aid cone from WW1, it's an electronic digital device capable of filtering sounds, e.g. the ceiling fan. When you "turn it on", player character effectively puts on a noise cancelling headset. Similar to night vision goggles, the interpretted value (sound or image/light) is never going to be overpowering, deafening or blinding, which means that some sounds might be more loud without the paramic than with it, it's all about the volume settings on paramic and it's filtering capabilities.
Hey insym, I’m sure I’m actually one of the people who you played with in the past, I deeply appreciate the teaching you are providing for people who haven’t touched the game in a while. Keep up the good work. Cwilfinger

It's a cool update, but I'm baffled about how they could release a major update with bugs like this... 47:36 They probably fixed it by now, but it shouldn't even be there to begin with.
Really active ghosts you can hear from anywhere in the truck...but it's been very useful because I've been in the truck considering what to bring in and hear a door touch, so I grab the glowstick.
considering how impatient i can be sometimes, I personally think the 3 second wait is better than waiting for the teir 1 to even move. i get what insym's saying but that's defintiely a personal preference take imo. i'd rather 3 seconds i know it's freezing, vs having to wait a minute to figure out if that's the case, or if it's just a ghost room. but hey, to each their own!

Hey just want to say Insym you inspired me to play this game I begged my brother to do family sharing bc he had it every day till he did it I’m almost prestige 1 and this game is so much fun I still even though I’ve watched your ghost guide and your tier 1,2,3 guides like 5 times I still reference them to see if I can learn something and see how much I know. Your absolutely amazing Insym and thank you for the inspiration to play this game and get over my phasmophobia. Also congrats on almost 1 million!
It really surprised me that tier 1 and 2 uv isnt the other way around, everyone always used glowsticks as the premium fingerprints finder before the update lol
The T1 photo cam isn't electronic. If you check the shop, you can see it's missing the Electronic tag that most other items have. For science, I stood in a closet with it out and the ghost didn't find me despite walking past me twice, and then when I turned on my flashlight, it instantly threw the doors open and grabbed me. So unless this was a bug, or changed since I ran this experiment at launch, then it definitely is not considered "Electronic" for gameplay purposes.
1:34:28 I'd rather see tier2 and 3 items be more expensive than tier1. but after prestige2 all tier2 will be unlocked, and after prestige3 all tier3 will be unlocked. and only then you'll have to make a choice what tier items you're bringing to the mission.
I reckon the sound sensor screen should be put next to the camera screen in a dual monitor setup, seeing as there is already speakers there and maybe have an option to select sound source or maybe have it auto select the closest microphone to your active camera feed. Another nice change would be for the head torch to simply be bound to the flashlight button. You're either using the head torch and a flashlight or just the head torch by itself. I can't think of any scenario that you would want to have one turned off and one on. The only problem I can see with this is if you turn on your head torch and pick up a turned off flashlight so that one of them is always on Edit: I forgot about the nightvision goggles
"Mimics are terryfying" Yeah, you tell me. Just had one that decided to show itself right after we crossed over Poltergeist (freezing temp and orb). Instantly after that it just decided to do 2 or 3 explosions clearing whole room of items (Willow master bedroom, very cluttered one), dropping our sanity from 70 to at least 30 (if not 0) then immedietly starting a hunt. In all that there were 2 funny things - before those explosions I saw one notebook thrown through doors I was going through, then I hear mass of items flying, fast. My friend was in the middle of it all. Then I turn back to look and ghost starts hunting, from the hallway near doors, basically cutting me any way to escape. And the second thing (probably funniest), that ghost was so angry, that after I died and my friend was in the truck, it decided to hunt again, despite no player being in the house (I thought it was no longer possible, but apparently it is in the new update). At leat it seemed like a hunt, since after dying I went to check sanity, my friend returned and then I went back to check on my body to see how my badge looks. Doors to the house were shut for some reason and I heard ghost hunting in the basement, but couldn't confirm, since it ended before I was able to even get to stairs. On a side note, we also stumbled upon Twins that were doing twinteractions on top of twinteractions, so it might be possible that todays update spiked ghosts ability usage rate (and for some reason that empty house hunt could've been Demon's ability Mimic borrowed).
I honestly love the update - I don’t like some of the “content creator” voice additions. Just doesn’t sound that scary, and seems a bit off sometimes. I wouldn’t mind if like hunt sounds, voice box sounds were locked for a game - meaning one voice per game randomized. It ruins the immersion to hear different voices.
Paramic idea: on the display, put a table of arrows. When a sound plays around you, have jt display something along the lines as "SOUND INCOMING FROM THE LEFT".
I think the thermo depends on how you want to use it, the higher grade ones are better for speed runs where you need to find out if it's freezing quicker. but just for finding the ghost/room and don't mind waiting for freezing, yeah the tier 1 is better
Instead of bashing the paramic every chance you get, how about use it on large maps like it’s intended for. An item that muffles sounds is obviously not going to seem good when you play Tanglewood for 80% of your games. T1 paramic is able to pick up sounds across the map and I’ve found it super useful on Maple and High School
They need to increase the range for the photo camera to get a tier 3 photo for higher grade camera like Tier 3 camera should be able to do twice the distance of a tier 1 and tier 2 in between that.
the paramic isn't to listem for sounds in the room your already in, like a book being thrown, it's to listen for sounds when your still looking for the ghost room, and for banshee screams
the headlight would have saved me some annoyance on update day where I got chased into the attic and stuck up there because I couldn't find my way out and the ghost couldn't find me for two-three hunts
Have you tried turning off V-Sync in-game, and then going to NVIDIA control panel to then set V-Sync to “Fast” or “Fastest”? It worked for me, but if it is related to shaders loading, I’m not positive on how to fix that.
Possible buff ideas: 1) UV - it's understandable why the Tier 2 beam is so narrow, otherwise it would just be another flashlight, however the actual UV lightup cone can easily be much larger than the visible beam of light. Problem: Tier 2's annoyingly narrow UV lightup cone Solution: Give Tier 2 specifically a larger UV lightup cone, the size of the screen essentially, so that it doesn't matter whether you're using glowstick vs flashlight. Better yet, also give it extended range so that it's actually better than the glowstick. If UV lighting up way outside the visible beam looks jarring, make the visible beam much wider, but much dimmer so that it still can't really be used as a flashlight. Problem: You need to switch to camera quickly which you don't need to do with a glowstick. Solution: make UV decay from flashlight _much_ slower and charge up _much_ faster. Better yet, throw away the charge up mechanic entirely and set the charge based on how centered and close to the blacklight the print is. If the player barely grazed the print with the cone, it's low charge and will disappear quickly. If the player shibes the light straight at the print, it immediately gets full charge and decays over like 10 seconds so there's ample time to take the camera out. Wider beam also will allow to drop flashlights in front of most prints like you can do with glowsticks - a little more annoying, sure, but utility partially saved. Problem: how do we make Tier 3 better than Tier 2? Solution: even wider charge cone (wider than the screen so you can have placement utility, maybe 180° or even bigger), higher max charge when aimed at print (20 second decay) and visible beam actually bright enough to be useful as a crappy flashlight. 2) Temp Problem: can't immediately tell if the temperature is going down or up Solution: both Tier 2 and 3 get little arrow indicators that immediately tell you whether the result temp is gonna be higher or lower than the previous one. A little bit clunkier but what can you do. Tier 3 upon turning on will also start to update temperatures automatically every few seconds, keeping a little log of like 5 previous temps on the screen. This way, you can always keep track of temperature changes no matter the tier. Alternatively you can nerf Tier 1 to not get room temp immediately, but please don't 3) Tripods - rotating the camera is pretty fun, if pointless, but we can do better than that. Tier 2 - adds a single device holder in front of the camera. You can put thermometers in there, as well as EMF readers, para mics, etc. Anything with a readable display. These are visible and readable from the camera when it's mounted on the tripod. If this is deemed too strong, it can be delegated to Tier 3, but I've got a better one for Tier 3: RC robot. Basically a tripod you can drive around the house, all with a camera slot and one equipment slot. This one should be a _really_ difficult feature to implement, so as alternative Tier 3 can add height/pitch controls and turning the equipment in the slot on/off. This will actually make tripod tiers exciting to buy, instead of just "less likely to fall over" thing 4) Photo cameras - can literally give flat bonus points to pictures they take so that it's easier to get 3 stars at higher tiers
an hot take or something. the big range of the crucifix. just put the crucific in a bad sppot where it could hunt if it was a normal ghost but just enough for a demon not to hunt? atleast not likely. like put it in a dif room or in the hallway something like that could resolve that problem. just try to work around the problem instead of directly changing it. 1:37:00 and then u can also put it in a good spot where u would be safe ( i love watching the game, but im too much of a pssy to play alone im a loner as a gamer :( )
polaroid camera is a bit misleading, it *is* electronic, but only as it's taking a photo, so taking a photo during the hunt will still get you killed, but just holding it in your hands won't xD
For your game freezes, you should also check your task manager while it freezes, and note any abnormality. There are also tools that can be used, which are commonly used to investigate potential hardware issues, but these require a bit more knowledge. Having the task manager open is the first step. You can detect Hard drives that go to 100% and end up in a bottleneck, or you can also see the graphics card go to 0% possibly, which could indicate something else. Since you are also a big player of phasmo, it might also be related to the game itself, maybe since you have a lot of games, their stat system is messing up somewhere and it causes the game to freeze while the operation is ongoing. You could play on a new steam account and check whether you have the same symptoms or not after playing some games. Good luck trying to investigate and fix these freezes :)
When you unlock all tier 3 items, ask one of your viewers/mods/friends to bring all tier 1 and another to bring all tier 2 and compare them ingame for a separate video, I bet it would be very helpful!
I personally think they should lay a heftier filter over the Spirit Box, as i don't like the clear voices without this distorted sound. But hey, just my opinion so idk if they'll ever do that
I think multiple cameras would be useful if you could setup laptop inside. For small maps it would be useless but for sunny meadows you could sit in church during hunt and find ghost on cameras
as your loyal follower i'm asking for your help: i've gained almost 4k lvls watching your videos and lost them all after reinstalling the game - "legacy badge" kinda uses local files instead of your real in-game lvl. It would be awesome if you'd share some light on the issue, as the discord is flooded with those questions w/out any answers
35:25 Truck dwellers are great, as long as they put in all the money. It's unfortunate if I die before getting the ghost type or all the objectives because my friend will just leave and not finish the contract but oh well, nothing's really lost. If they don't put in the money/items though, they better get their ass inside. Lol
Majority of the tier 1 items are significantly worse, including the thermometer mainly in retrospect to what difficulty you're playing on. If you're an ameture or intermediate player pin against the timer in which a ghost can hunt, especially on an medium size map or bigger, all of the tier one items will make an ameture player significantly more likely to lose time and unable to identify the ghost even if the ghost is literally at entrance of the map, where the tier 2s will do much better in the same scenario except the glowsticks should've been tier 2. Only advantage is with the uv light you can just aim it. You don't have to be on top of a fingerprint that has shown up way across the room on a window in a corner where you could be trapped and caught off guard by a hunt using a glowsticks and stuck in a really bad spot cause have to be almost on top of whatever you're trying to reveal
We have one team member that will not come into the house once sanity hits 70. He is terrified to do anything. It sucks because it makes the three of us have to do everything, but that's how he plays.
I played with my friend, guessed the ghost type without using any evidence and in the lobby, for my friend, it showed "hacker detected" or sth like that under my name but idk why
I don't think there's very complicated electronics in the Polaroid. The film has a battery built in to it. The top is spring loaded, not electric. The light just shows the flash is charged and flash is only active for a fraction of a second. The film eject is probably just a little motor. To the argument you made of letting people sit in the truck and play how they want, my friend will very rarely say yes to playing phasmo and when they do, they only sit in the truck all game and then complain that the game is boring because nothing happens. No matter how hard I try to tell them that this HORROR game is only fun when in the actual horror bit, they still refuse to go in
Haha, Insym, i have funny future proposition of challenge for You, referring to your digression about old multi phasmo experience, and new possibilities of playing from the truck challege is: Play on Duo with a newbie/non-professional player, and thing is - you need to stay on truck, and TELL second player what to set up, what to do :p
So before the update I only got to level 69 (noice). I’m already at 50 and I’m enjoying the game much much more. I’m not as good as insym at all but I okay professional for the first time today! I think I’m hooked to the harder difficulties. It’s so scary and so fun! Can’t wait to try professional alone. Definitely doing a tangle wood for that 😅
When you reinstalled gpu drivers did you do Display Driver Uninstaller? Just doing it in windows leaves files behind same for perform clean install. Also use a graphic overclook tool like MSI/Evga if you down clock your core by 15-60 and it stops having issues might be a gpu stability thing cause the game does use a decent amount of gpu. Also clean your pc
I might actually like the headcam light better than tier two honestly. It is dim, probably makes for poor content, but it is immersive and spooky. And since I play the game primarily on VR, not having to hold a light to take care of and drop occasionally is super convenient, not to mention that I use a Valve Index which makes some things tiering to hold in some games. Speaking of which, more VR Support based Fixes when? My friend who also has an Index deals with a massive grab detection problem where he would be death gripping his controller but objects occasionally drop anyways. I may have forgotten if there was a toggle crouch for VR, but dropping items and struggling to pick em up because I am too tall and the table gets in the way of me bending to grab object since my trackers are on a table is rough, even more so when I am in a place where I don't want to be bending over and struggling XD Another thing, the main reason I love these kinds of vids from Insym, is in fact because he looks extra ratty just darting his view around and explaining things in a house that is meant to be a "check in, not check out" kind of place. Honestly it makes me whish there was a sort of spectator mode for Ghost Hunting games where the view occasionally switches to the POV of the ghost. It would look cool to see it trying to path around the house, along with occasionally B-Lining it to the player who you would see get scared from the Ghosts Perspective. P.S. I am sort of an Elitest myself over walking in the Haunted Building. To me, the experience is meant to be the spooks had and the laughs that could also be had from them. They can't be had if they are just watching what is essentially a stream of what is going on in the house, they "really didn't" just spend that money to look at a monitor on their monitor. You bought the Haunted House simulator game, you should expect to have to go in that Haunted House to finish the job. HOWEVER!!! Having someone talking to you on the radio like Oticon giving you small bits of info is actually really cool in my opinion. But at some point I will feel like they have to go in with me so I am not the only target, and so my already spooked nerves can be soothed with another person sharing those spooks.

1:41:05 I have had a crucifix pop in the van pre-ascension update. They definitely work "outside"
They need to increase the range for the photo camera to get a tier 3 photo for higher grade camera like Tier 3 camera should be able to do twice the distance of a tier 1 and tier 2 in between that.
Hi youtube is a trademark of insym haha its wild on livestreams, man just pulls it out of thin air like he hasnt already been streaming for ages.
Here before he removes p from the title
wat
What was it then?
Are you pulling my pizzle?
Hasmophobia?
@@glitch1792only some people get this 😂
Yes the tier 1 motion sensor also stays on if the ghost, or you, stand in the beam. Had that happen multiple times.
the paramic isn't to listem for sounds in the room your already in, like a book being thrown, it's to listen for sounds when your still looking for the ghost room, and for banshee screams
The first time I heard the parabolic microphone whispers ingame I got so scared that I stood still and got myself killed lol
the headlight would have saved me some annoyance on update day where I got chased into the attic and stuck up there because I couldn't find my way out and the ghost couldn't find me for two-three hunts
Have you tried turning off V-Sync in-game, and then going to NVIDIA control panel to then set V-Sync to “Fast” or “Fastest”?
It worked for me, but if it is related to shaders loading, I’m not positive on how to fix that.
I'm sad to hear you can't choose to take lower tier items, because I agree, I would take the glowstick full time.
Possible buff ideas:
1) UV - it's understandable why the Tier 2 beam is so narrow, otherwise it would just be another flashlight, however the actual UV lightup cone can easily be much larger than the visible beam of light.
Problem: Tier 2's annoyingly narrow UV lightup cone
Solution: Give Tier 2 specifically a larger UV lightup cone, the size of the screen essentially, so that it doesn't matter whether you're using glowstick vs flashlight.
2) Temp
Problem: can't immediately tell if the temperature is going down or up
Solution: both Tier 2 and 3 get little arrow indicators that immediately tell you whether the result temp is gonna be higher or lower than the previous one. A little bit clunkier but what can you do.
Tier 3 upon turning on will also start to update temperatures automatically every few seconds, keeping a little log of like 5 previous temps on the screen. This way, you can always keep track of temperature changes no matter the tier.
Alternatively you can nerf Tier 1 to not get room temp immediately, but please don't
3) Tripods - rotating the camera is pretty fun, if pointless, but we can do better than that.
This will actually make tripod tiers exciting to buy, instead of just "less likely to fall over" thing
4) Photo cameras - can literally give flat bonus points to pictures they take so that it's easier to get 3 stars at higher tiers
i aint reading all that
@@lyft-ni6jpAnd you felt the need to inform me of that because..?
Been loving all the new update content, it’s been loads of fun!
an hot take or something. the big range of the crucifix. just put the crucific in a bad sppot where it could hunt if it was a normal ghost but just enough for a demon not to hunt? atleast not likely. like put it in a dif room or in the hallway something like that could resolve that problem. just try to work around the problem instead of directly changing it. 1:37:00 and then u can also put it in a good spot where u would be safe ( i love watching the game, but im too much of a pssy to play alone im a loner as a gamer :( )
"And then put this back." _Throws lighter on the floor._
polaroid camera is a bit misleading, it *is* electronic, but only as it's taking a photo, so taking a photo during the hunt will still get you killed, but just holding it in your hands won't xD
Devs: i think headcam should be bound to a different key. That is all.
Or able too, like in the journal you can change the head-cam key
I miss the old sound of the spirit box response.. like.. "I'm behind youUuu~"
1:20:15 Damn he sounded just like a ghost fr
I think the voices from Spirit Box could be distorted, pitched or something like that. It feels way too "normal" now. It was creepier before
For your game freezes, you should also check your task manager while it freezes, and note any abnormality.
But hey, just my opinion so idk if they'll ever do that
Here's food for thought, if the cam is placed badly or is nocked over you can move it to get a better look
Not sure if you know this or not, but with the Sound Sensors, you can pick up sound of evidence too (ex. Ghost Writing)
I think multiple cameras would be useful if you could setup laptop inside. For small maps it would be useless but for sunny meadows you could sit in church during hunt and find ghost on cameras
Hey Insym! Can you do me a favor since you talk/play with the DEVS? Can you recommend making the Cursor more visible? thanks
Anyone else getting a camera bug where it won't let you switch between them unless there's only 1 in the building/area?
as your loyal follower i'm asking for your help: i've gained almost 4k lvls watching your videos and lost them all after reinstalling the game - "legacy badge" kinda uses local files instead of your real in-game lvl. It would be awesome if you'd share some light on the issue, as the discord is flooded with those questions w/out any answers
Never had that freezing issue and don't know of anyone except you. I think it's still on your side. x)
10:01 that's definitely Insym
It would be funny for insym to be a phasmo character for Halloween
35:25 Truck dwellers are great, as long as they put in all the money. It's unfortunate if I die before getting the ghost type or all the objectives because my friend will just leave and not finish the contract but oh well, nothing's really lost. If they don't put in the money/items though, they better get their ass inside. Lol
You should rate these in VR, the usefulness of devices across tiers is quite different.
The head cam is great you just have bad binds, if it was normal binds which is hold t, you wouldn’t be messing it up
Can't wait for the Insym voice to appear on the spirit box.
You don't have to be on top of a fingerprint that has shown up way across the room on a window in a corner where you could be trapped and caught off guard by a hunt using a glowsticks and stuck in a really bad spot cause have to be almost on top of whatever you're trying to reveal
i could definitely see a lot of people using exclusively T2 items just for the familiarity
No matter how hard I try to tell them that this HORROR game is only fun when in the actual horror bit, they still refuse to go in
Haha, Insym, i have funny future proposition of challenge for You, referring to your digression about old multi phasmo experience, and new possibilities of playing from the truck challege is:
Play on Duo with a newbie/non-professional player, and thing is - you need to stay on truck, and TELL second player what to set up, what to do :p
I wish you could also rotate the tripod on the y axis in case you wanted to focus on stuff on the floor like the writing book.
I think the T1 Termo is better than the T2 and T3.
Definitely doing a tangle wood for that 😅
thank you yinsim for "ALL the NEW Tier 2 Items"
but srsly keep it up you're great
When you reinstalled gpu drivers did you do Display Driver Uninstaller? Just doing it in windows leaves files behind same for perform clean install. Also use a graphic overclook tool like MSI/Evga if you down clock your core by 15-60 and it stops having issues might be a gpu stability thing cause the game does use a decent amount of gpu. Also clean your pc
You can actually take a photo of the ghost when it’s in the dots form and it counts
Insym is probably the UA-camr who I’d want to meet the most irl
I believe the paramic is supposed to let you hear distant sounds, not make things louder
All of these new sounds make me almost too freaked out to play the update alone lol
bro that head lamp is gonna be cracked. i play with brightness 4 anyways so it will be good enough for me to never need a flashlight again
The description of the tier 1 photo cam says that it only affects the ghost while taking a picture, so not when holding it
I love your videos but can you make a video explaining the tiers but with the video being around 30 mins .
OMG!!! I REALLY LOVE THIS GAME!!!! A FRIEND OF MINE TOLD ME TO PLAY HOMOPHOBIA AND I STILL CANT STOP PLAYING IT OMG SO AESTETHIC!!!!!! :3
For the freezing, try getting Revo Uninstaller, completely uninstalling the game with it, then reinstalling.
I may have forgotten if there was a toggle crouch for VR, but dropping items and struggling to pick em up because I am too tall and the table gets in the way of me bending to grab object since my trackers are on a table is rough, even more so when I am in a place where I don't want to be bending over and struggling XD
Another thing, the main reason I love these kinds of vids from Insym, is in fact because he looks extra ratty just darting his view around and explaining things in a house that is meant to be a "check in, not check out" kind of place.
I agree with your assesment of the UV light... I keept it at the UV stick and saved my money
Whenever I use the paramic I can still hear things clearly behind me, they are not as loud but I can DEFINITELY still hear them.
Imagine going to OG Asylum with head mounted flashlight
The camera headset also is electronic now
