I think altar calls are good if the people in them truly mean what they are going up there for

Nope nope altar calls are scriptural and it relies on believing God is real not fashioning him into some image you think is right and holding onto that.. its the difference between Genesis 22:18 and Numbers 14:22 with an understanding that on the day of Pentecost his Holy Spirits presence came to live in his children and that they would be the living witnesses Heb 4:2,7, 1 Pet 1:22, Acts 10:19,20 , 1 John 4:6 John 15:26 in which the lost would hear and come to faith Acts 2:38,39 through his children Heb 11:40 Acts 15:7-9 faith comes by hearing there is no other way to enter into his rest! Saul is blinded on the road hears Jesus obeys goes into the city and is justified Abraham hears God tell him to sacrifice his son goes from the pew walks the aisle to the altar raises the knife and is justified Rom 4:13 all altar calls!

If you don not think the hearing of faith is not hearing God think again Paul speaks clearly in Gal 3:2,3,5 to the galatians about how they came to faith not by the works of the law but the hearing of faith and you see the same thing he preaches to the Galatians applies to his own coming to faith verse 2,3 is his coming to faith (Gal 1:15,16 immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood) verse 5 is Ananias and he did it by the hearing of faith what did that entail? he shall testify of me! 1 John 4:6

@@TheB1nary The book doesnt save its hearing his call that saves by the hand of a preacher born of God... its why Jesus says he shall testify of me John 15:26 its why Heb 11:40 says God having provided some better thing for us that they without us should not be made perfect...( think of Saul who ministered to him the spirit? how did he do it... by the works of the law... or the hearing of Faith) its also shown in ACTS 15:7-9 by my mouth they hear the word of the Gospel, and believe... God which knoweth the hearts bareth them witness... which talks about how one hears also spoken by Peter in 1 Pet 1:22 seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the spirit ... and John 1 John 4:6 and Paul who also came to faith by hearing.. there is a hearing and coming to faith its how I came to faith at an altar call... Mat 7:21 should show you its not just belief in Jesus or presenting your works to him but he that doeth the will of my Father... there are only 2 ways you can interpret that.... John 8:47 He that knoweth God heareth Gods words ye therefore hear them not because ye are not of God.... there is a way that seemeth right unto a man but the end thereof is death... You either enter into his rest Gen 22:18 or you dont Num 14:22... Heb 4:2,7
