A very good spot on a weekday during cool weather. TWRA is doing a great job with the trout stocking program in East Tennessee. During the weekends in warm weather, too many swimmers taking a dip in these cold water pools around the bridge. They usually do not show any respect to the anglers. Not a lot of parking near by on the weekend. Very limited land access to the river here. If you can time it right on a weekday with the stocking schedule and cooler weather, you’ll catch some nice ones here, Eggs on small hooks, Trout Magnets, and Roster Tail Spinners are the baits. Lite line on an lite action rod are the secret.
I loved this video so much I loaded up and headed down there from my home in Chuckey, Tn. This was back in October, middle of the week. I got to see some beautiful scenery. This area is so pretty even up by The Pitman Center. I did not do any fishing there but had all my tackle with me. I have a Jeep Liberty and there was no space big enough anywhere close that I would have felt comfortable parking. The one small spot that I could have parked had a big busted bag of trash someone had tossed or left. I carry plastic bags and gloves with me just for times I find this. But there was nowhere I could park just to do that. Plus signs all around stating private areas. It was apparent to me that they really didn't want just anyone parking and fishing this spot. I drove along the creek away from the bridge for about 2 miles and it looks like a development of nice cabins and homes that are mostly way off the road. I found one area with a picnic table that had parking, and there were about 8 people walking their dogs along this area. They said it was a private picnic spot. they were very nice and friendly but made no suggestions as to where I could park to fish. So I rode around for about 2 hours marking other creeks and spots with parking areas, for future trips. Its only about 75 minutes from our home. . I did find a pull-off about a half mile from the covered bridge that I noted. Next time I will just park there and walk to the bridge. Its a beautiful area and enjoyed the day even without being able to fish the covered bridge. Oh, as the road is not very busy, I stopped beside the bridge and with my binoculars, I could see at least 8 trout swimming in that area. Thanks for the info on location, hope to get back down there before Thanksgiving and give it a cast or two.
Been there once ... BUT, lots of private property all around there. If you leave your vehicle, it will likely be towed away she you return to where you parked. No fish is worth the tow fee, time, and taxi to the tow yard. Not again.
I live about an hour from Gatlinburg. Some of the hotels in town have balconies right on the river and I have actually caught nice fish right in the downtown area of Gatlinburg.
That’s my favorite spot up there. Can be a little crowded with swimmers in the summer, but still great. On the parking, if you’re willing to walk, there is a church a half mile up the road with decent parking.
Awesome video guys! I live in Maryville not too far out... question, do you need a Gatlinburg fishing tag in that location? Keep the TN vids coming! Thanks guys
I live 5 min down stream from there I fish up an down through there it pretty good fishin weekend be there early lot of local fish here to stay away from town an traffic
Thats awesome guys ill be in gatlinburg and pigeon forge friday to monday, do you know how much the non residential liscense is ir do they honor the nc trout stamp
They don't and Tennessee does not sell just a stamp was on the phone with the Twra last week now if ur fishing the national forest nc license works within the park boundary and if in gatlinburg I believe a daily permit applies also
In the video you say this is middle prong. My understanding is you're on west prong little pigeon river.. middle prong is in tremont area near townsend.
Love watching the video but am I missing something when reading the fishing regulations concerning the use of salmon eggs or any scented baits. I’m from out of state planning a trip don’t want to break the law.
I fish in 4 different states. Not all 4 have the same regulations, so get the official state regulations and guidelines for *each* state, national park, etc. Not worth the cost of fines (or criminal charge) & loss of gear. This specific location, never again. After a scenic drive I drove past this place last year (having flashbacks of the previous incident) and there are now small boulders along this road to show the private property lines, a sign on an adjacent road saying *if you're here then your GPS is wrong,* and folks will walk out of their cabins/homes to look at you to let you know you don't belong here unless you only pause to take a photo of the historic bridge. There is good fishing downtown Sevierville along that shallow river with trout, small mouth, sunfish, more.

@@TeamPautzke Thank you for the reply. I plan on releasing everything as well. Just need to make sure I'm not inside the park boundaries while fishing. Tight lines.
Probably because they have shown the spot to a bunch of people with this video. Lol I live down the road and that used to be a great spot. You have to hit it when they stock it.

Here is this location my friend? I try to put the name as it appears in the video but can't find it on Google maps.
Thanks

Is this emerts covered bridge?
Awesome video guys! I live in Maryville not too far out... question, do you need a Gatlinburg fishing tag in that location? Keep the TN vids coming! Thanks guys
Phil,
You do not. This is stocked by TWRA - not the city of Gatlinburg.
going ther tomorow yay
Can you catch smallmouth here as well?
Yes small ones and brim too
I live 5 min down stream from there I fish up an down through there it pretty good fishin weekend be there early lot of local fish here to stay away from town an traffic
Levi, its a beautiful area, you are fortunate to live so close.
I hear this is no longer open to public?
Hey Levi, I live about an hour away and wanted to come up and fish with my Dad. Where’s the best spot to park to fish the bridge area? Thanks!

They don't and Tennessee does not sell just a stamp was on the phone with the Twra last week now if ur fishing the national forest nc license works within the park boundary and if in gatlinburg I believe a daily permit applies also
@Toby Henderson The trout stamp pays for the trout stocking.
Great video! Love the creek scenery! By the way, where did y’all park?
There are public spots designated that we parked in.
Being a tourist that’s only been there a couple times it’s hard to pin point unless we get a mapped location
In the video you say this is middle prong. My understanding is you're on west prong little pigeon river.. middle prong is in tremont area near townsend.
Adam, according to the local biologist - and TWRA, we are correct.
That’s the Little River. This is the Little Pigeon River
I can’t find this place
How do u guys catch so much on fireballs I can never get any bites on them and I use a bobber
light line and small hook are key
Pautzke Bait ok thank u so much
@@clawzz2346 I use trout magnet fluro in either the 2lb of 4lb and it helps tremendously
Going camping and Townsend and fly fish but I will definitely after saying his video get some of those eggs
What do I look up
Where is this at
The video states - exactly - where this is.
Never saw the location
Nevermind..not sure how I missed that.
Those orange deluxe eggs seem huge compared to the ones I usually use from yall
These are the new style.
I have that same reel
Can you catch them on a fly

Ken,
You can't use eggs or any bait in the national park.

We fished two sections, parked in designated spaces and had no issues, luckily.
There is a church .3 miles from the bridge and there is a commercial building about .2 miles from there
The Golfer where is the church? What’s the name of it
dig it 😈
Illegal bait?
Why would you think that?
Game and fish rules for smokie mountains read about it.
No eggs in smokey Mt national park...don't think emerts cove is in national park..so eggs are legal
Isn't it illegal to use salmon eggs in this area? I'm heading there November and have been looking at rules and want to fish, but not go to jail. lol.
No, but it is to use them in the national park. Please don't use bait there.
@@TeamPautzke Thank you for the reply. I plan on releasing everything as well. Just need to make sure I'm not inside the park boundaries while fishing. Tight lines.
Just went, place sucked.. not a fish in site. Can park at the church 0.4 miles away, for everyone asking.
Is that Hills Creek Church that you parked at?
That the locals spots lol
You giving away all the secret locations bruhs. Lol
We found it on the TWRA stocking map - where tens of thousands of anglers look;)
That spot is bad fished there all day no bites used your bait
Hi Jill, sounds like someone beat you to it, maybe? What month did you fish it?
Probably because they have shown the spot to a bunch of people with this video. Lol I live down the road and that used to be a great spot. You have to hit it when they stock it.
I have had bad days there as well, try again if you are in the area...
