Quadruple A gaming sounds the same as Surprise mechanics. A CEO trying to convince people of their garbage. So utterly detached from reality of knowing how cognitive their customers really are.
The real reason it's 70 bucks is probably because the development of this game has been a nightmare that has lost Ubisoft a ton of money and they are *desperate* to break even.
My theory is: it's PR bullshit for an exquisite group. The message is primarily aimed at the major shareholders. Otherwise, they would look for a new table (company) in the casino (stock exchange). And all the small shareholders would then go with them.
Typically, the 3 A's in "Triple AAA" means the amount of time or money the company puts into their games. If you call your game QUADRUPLE A, and it looks like THAT, boy you lost my money at record-breaking speed.
A true Quadruple A game should look like it had passion poured into it as well. If the people who made the game enjoyed making it, it will be a better game for it. God of War, Elden Ring, Control, Baldur’s Gate 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, Super Mario Odyssey, and many other triple AAA games fit this bill I feel. It’s a shame they aren’t as common as the deluge of terrible offerings big companies offer.
Hardly record-breaking tbh, with how often this game has been delayed, it's been bleeding money slowly, slow enough that I'm convinced that Ubisoft is in no way going to get that money back and probably didn't actually realize how much they were putting into that.

What baffles me is how Ubisoft is still alive. The only good Ubisoft games in recent years were the Mario+Rabbids games and those games were liscenced by Nintendo.
I’d rather watch a pirated super bowl stream than ever hear anything about this game again.
It also sucks as a ship simulator. Obviously it doesnt have to be totally historically accurate, but broadside canons firing in all direction, ships behaving like cars, no wind directions and no real damage system is a bit much
Calling Skull and Bones an AAAA game is calling Sea of Thieves an SS+ game
I love how when I saw this, I realized my Stepfather was trying the game 💀
And is still playing as the time as this video and my text is being sent
Me seeing the trailer: "hey this is interesting. It looks like a sea of theives nockoff but maybe its like palworld where its just heavily inspired."
Me after seeing who made it: "wow its a cheap cash grab sea of theives nockoff"
Sea of thief definitely has its faults but its leagues butter than what Ubi puts out
skull and bones is medival world of warships from what i got from this video
has anyone else noticed the push of skull and bones ads on yt? It seems like goobersoft is actively trying to get people to play their game.
Now that I feel like everyone is going to be craving naval warfare games I’m going to just say from the depths is THE BEST naval warfare game I have ever SEEN, and it costs only 25 buckaroos
Ubisoft should be comfortable with them being used as a case study of being delusional
That actually says about zaslov when you said that the exec never played the game. Try not watching the movie & then still deciding to delete the movie after public backlash. Worse still is that his address got leaked. During the protest.
Well the animations look pretty cool from here.
