Refurbed or similar style bbs’s or Alpina style wheels are WAAAY nicer. Other than the overspray and poor exhaust welding (which tbh you’ll never know is there unless the cars in the air) … the car is great. Love the content as always

I love how subjective it is. He was all over the Moon for these wheels and when they showed them, I tilted my head a bit and muttered "Really? These?! Well, you do you." IMO it now looks like an old Passat with a BWM logo on it.

I like the appreciation for the Yorkshire Car Restoration guys, I wish all the car UA-camrs whose cars they worked on gave as much back. Don't mind the Hartge wheels as much as some commenters but I'd definitely rather have the original BBSes.

I'm a glass half full kind of guy and never negative in the comments... but... I'm disappointed... After all Ryan's hard work this car deserves the time afforded to it for a complete strip down and a 1st class repaint rather than the blow over YCR only had time for, I bet they're cringing right now. Love the E30, had a '86 325i BITD, this one could and should be one of the best.
But it's MOT'ed and saved and loved and ready to march on to 500.000miles! - oh and the wheels... Because Hartge! - I approve!

A project car is never trully "finished" there is always something that can be improved, tweaked etc. That is why i love working on cars, i am always learning something new.

It's called the "the MOT is booked, we've wasted too much on this already, just get it on and air tight and we'll sort it later"
Also, it's getting an engine swap, which means a new manifold, so it'll be removed with that anyway. 🤷♂️

Must admit, i used to own a Calibra turbo 25+ years ago and i fitted a Scorpion exhaust to that also-it sounded fantastic.

For e30 those are not jacking points! Its factory assembly chassis holding points. When you use them as a jacking point you break the seam sealer and they start to rot. Real points are: diff, center of front subframe and 2 on the pinch welds on both sides. So yes you can remove them when you are just repairing the panel it gives a cleaner look and less place for moisture to creep
Loved seeing Roger back and seeing jooshy becoming one of the main presenters on the channel now. A underrated member of the team. Could give Taylor some competition as fan favourite.
Looks good I just hope the weld on the suspension legs/hubs is better than the weld on that exhaust 🙈🙈🙈😎🤣
Australian here. We never got the E30 tourings sold here locally. At least here in Victoria, we can utilise club rego which is for historic cars 25 years or older. Glad that Taylor's car is going to a new home.

The Hartge's are a bit marmite - tbh, refurbing the original wheels would have been my choice. But if Alex loves them, it's his car so that's what matters.

You better take care going over speed bumps because the alu sump pan is fragile and sticks out below the car.

Did a pigeon shit on that exhaust? Finished you say what about the roof lining? Old wheels were better.
If the Kiwk Lift is similar to a QuickJack you're using the frames the wrong way round. The lock bar should always be on the outside of the car so you don't need to be under the car to release the locks or have to put your hands through the hydraulic jack itself. You'll probably be fine doing it how your doing it but considering you just need to swap the frames round its best not to risk it!

Not related to this video but Moog from Mighty Car Mods is one of the presenters on Top Gear Australia - I posted this on the MGM2 - Would be great to see TG Australia in the UK - It will be so interesting to see someone from the on-line world in the traditional broadcasting space - In the UK there was a lot of discussion about the demise of TG in the UK and if it could be resurrected with more relevant presenters from UA-cam for a younger generation - Well done Blair for getting the gig on TG and it would be great if you could do a UA-cam video with Tavarish - Matt Armstrong - AutoAlex ....... I think it would be a great chat :)
Alex you and Taylor should get a Toyota aygo / Citroen c1 / Peugeot 107 budget of £2500 for cost of car and upgrades they are really interesting little cars and I think you two would enjoy driving an underpowered lightweight car that’s the closest you can get to a go kart race car with a strict budget

Minis are easy compared to the BMW. All the panels are available so you could easily replace the entire floor. No making patch panels by hand.
What can i say. Fully restored? Overspray on everything. Headliner thats falling apart. The engine is puffing blue smoke. No lads this was not great. And love the hartge wheels but not on the wagon. Was really hoping on some 3 piece bbs .

As much as I enjoy watching this channel, there seems to be a serious lack of actual work being done by the person whom the channel is named after. Too much getting other people do all the work {Taylor, Tom, Josh} I've been watching you for years now and i want to see work being done, fixing, painting, tuning, racing etc etc. But it seems to be a whole lot of videos for not a lot of content. Please kindly revert back to the old Alex and get stuck in. It doesn't take 2 videos for us to watch you put a set of rims on a BMW that was completely renovated by other people!!! SORT IT OUT!

Reporting from Perth Australia here, will be keeping an eye out for that e30, nice Manta B in the background at Yorkshire car restorations as well which is something i imported from Scotland to Perth Australia.
E30 M20 engines can do that jerking when the battery is low and/or not charging correctly. Defo electrical though.

Also from a fellow red E30 Touring owner, your "teething problems" look to be the first sign of the fuel pump giving up, which is common. Easy enough to replace! :)
