Refurbed or similar style bbs’s or Alpina style wheels are WAAAY nicer. Other than the overspray and poor exhaust welding (which tbh you’ll never know is there unless the cars in the air) … the car is great. Love the content as always

A project car is never trully "finished" there is always something that can be improved, tweaked etc. That is why i love working on cars, i am always learning something new.
I have no clue how many of these comments you read, but if you do pay attention... I'm a 59-year-old retired custom paint sprayer and airbrush artist. I reckon that I could teach at least one of you how to use a spray gun and properly refinish a car within a week. I am not looking for any UA-cam content, I would just like to help you guys expand your skills.

Australian here. We never got the E30 tourings sold here locally. At least here in Victoria, we can utilise club rego which is for historic cars 25 years or older. Glad that Taylor's car is going to a new home.
To all complaining that the welds ont he exhaust are crap... It's called the "the MOT is booked, we've wasted too much on this already, just get it on and air tight and we'll sort it later" Also, it's getting an engine swap, which means a new manifold, so it'll be removed with that anyway. 🤷♂️
I’ve got a turbo M54 e30 coupe and the little comment at the end when you said “a successful summer fixing them up” It’s been ‘summer’ since 2017. And although it’s 540hp - it’s still broken as of now

For e30 those are not jacking points! Its factory assembly chassis holding points. When you use them as a jacking point you break the seam sealer and they start to rot. Real points are: diff, center of front subframe and 2 on the pinch welds on both sides. So yes you can remove them when you are just repairing the panel it gives a cleaner look and less place for moisture to creep

Absolutely love this BMW E30 touring. Something about the more slender a minimalist body style compared to the nearly comical bulging angry body styles of BMW today. Good on you for giving this one another life!
If the Kiwk Lift is similar to a QuickJack you're using the frames the wrong way round. The lock bar should always be on the outside of the car so you don't need to be under the car to release the locks or have to put your hands through the hydraulic jack itself. You'll probably be fine doing it how your doing it but considering you just need to swap the frames round its best not to risk it!
Really happy with the look of this car, however the respray worries me. It looks like they were respraying it in a dirty workshop as opposed to a clean spray booth. Also, I can see sooo much overspray and some paint runs 😢
Loved seeing Roger back and seeing jooshy becoming one of the main presenters on the channel now. A underrated member of the team. Could give Taylor some competition as fan favourite.
One piece of advice about ice blasting from someone who used it: be EXTRA careful with it. Think of it as pressure washing but with small chunks of ice (not water but CO2), and those chunks are coming out at very high speeds so it can really hurt you, even coming back at you after the rebound from the surface you're cleaning. You really do need (I can't emphasize it enough) to protect your whole body and protect it well. . Also, secondary anyway but worth mentioning, again, it's CO2 so you shouldn't breath the gases from the contaimer.
Reporting from Perth Australia here, will be keeping an eye out for that e30, nice Manta B in the background at Yorkshire car restorations as well which is something i imported from Scotland to Perth Australia.
if you watched till the end Alex mentioned it will be getting a m54b30 engine so the manifolds dont really matter because they will be changed with the engine swap
You are so lucky that you get all that work done for free. But can you give us (the normal people who don't get work done for free) an idea as to how much the work you had done costs so we can work out if we can afford to do it.
Get an Hartge 2.7 or Alpina C27 engine dropped in it. You will not be disappointed. An M20 long stroke with high lift cams is superb. I have some C27 chips for the ECU.
Brings back lots of good memories of my almost identical 318i back in 2005 that i brought back from the brink. One of my regrets of getting rid that and my 325 sport 😢

Was going to just sell the car off but I love it too much it’s a 1.0 golf it’s only got 110hp but it’s well fun. I was thinking of buying a gti rear subframe and axle and swapping it out right how hard do you think it would be?

As much as I enjoy watching this channel, there seems to be a serious lack of actual work being done by the person whom the channel is named after. Too much getting other people do all the work {Taylor, Tom, Josh} I've been watching you for years now and i want to see work being done, fixing, painting, tuning, racing etc etc. But it seems to be a whole lot of videos for not a lot of content. How much would it cost to fix all that rust on a car? I know its depending on how rusty a car is but I really want to do something like this myself but I dont know how to weld so having a workshop doing it for me.
My wife has just got me a mk5 vw jetta cheap last week needs few bits doing to it but I've started. Just waiting on payday so I can get some tyres and brake pads for now to sling in for mot see if anything else is needed. I've got 2 jobs left on my little clio to finish off the work I've been doing but got pushed back due to doing work on 2 of my older sisters cars. Plus odd job need to do on my dads. But my first vw I'm finding new things nearly everyday I like about it. And can't wait to do some styling and tuning mods. Any ideas for a 2009 1.9tdi jetta please. Minis are easy compared to the BMW. All the panels are available so you could easily replace the entire floor. No making patch panels by hand.

But the conectors on the headlights are switched.
The highbeams is on all the time and the lowbeams are flashing as highbeams.
As much as I enjoy watching this channel, there seems to be a serious lack of actual work being done by the person whom the channel is named after. Too much getting other people do all the work {Taylor, Tom, Josh} I've been watching you for years now and i want to see work being done, fixing, painting, tuning, racing etc etc. But it seems to be a whole lot of videos for not a lot of content. Please kindly revert back to the old Alex and get stuck in. It doesn't take 2 videos for us to watch you put a set of rims on a BMW that was completely renovated by other people!!! SORT IT OUT!
How much would it cost to fix all that rust on a car?
I know its depending on how rusty a car is but I really want to do something like this myself but I dont know how to weld so having a workshop doing it for me.
How were you driving with the central high beams on and the low beams only on park?
My wife has just got me a mk5 vw jetta cheap last week needs few bits doing to it but I've started. Just waiting on payday so I can get some tyres and brake pads for now to sling in for mot see if anything else is needed. I've got 2 jobs left on my little clio to finish off the work I've been doing but got pushed back due to doing work on 2 of my older sisters cars. Plus odd job need to do on my dads. But my first vw I'm finding new things nearly everyday I like about it. And can't wait to do some styling and tuning mods. Any ideas for a 2009 1.9tdi jetta please.
