That was one of my favourite dresses in movie history. So simple but so elegant. It also shows Giselle’s character and her creativity. It was absolutely beautiful ❤
Wow, your dress is darling. I have been sewing off an on since I have been 17, and I'm 65. I have learned so much from UA-cam. It amazes me that you have been sewing for such a short time. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas. ❤
I use the tape method for making patterns too but if you wrap cling wrap to the dress form beforehand you can cut it off without risking breaking the tape, and it doesn’t have a sticky back anymore! :)
I looooooooove this dress! The length is perfect. I wish I knew how to sew my own clothes. Could you please make a video explaining how to do patterns without a mannequin or how to alter patterns for them to fit? ‘Cause that is my biggest fear when it comes to making a piece of clothing from the begging. Thank you ❤
Honestly, the best way to learn is to do it. Get some yards of cheap fabric, a simple pattern and just go at it. Sewing is always learnt easier by doing rather than watching 💕
This is literally my new favorite dress in the whole wide world!!!!!!! I love everything about it and i loved watching you create it. It is my absolute goal to make this exact dress in the exact fabric! Thank you for this video!!!
Just a tip, next time use blue painters tape. It removes easier and doesn't leave any tape residue on the dress form. I struggle with draping, so I had to find someting that's easy to use and get off the dress form cleanly.
I’m so glad you used the tape method!! I had never seen that done before, but it’s going to make it totally easy for me to use my adjustable dress form (that I can’t stick pins in to drape fabric) to design dresses! I’ve been wanting to make one similar to this but in midnight blue with little silver stars 😁
It would be great if you could share your fashion journey like how you started, which school you went to, your sewing collection/models, etc. your work is amazing!! ☺️
you can also use paper bags like Aldi bags or news paper taped on to the dress form for patterns as well. Just a time saver tip. It works really well for making patterns off of cloths you already have as well.
That’s so pretty. I could never do that. Though my mom is a seamstress and used to make clothes, amongst other things. She used to pay me to feed elastic through anything that had it and to iron her pieces….both jobs she hated.I got good at ironing & elastic feeding but never mastered sewing. I can hem and make pillow covers. I could never make clothes and certainly nothing as gorgeous as the dresses you make.Though my tshirt came out pretty good in homeed in school….way back in the early 90s when they still taught sewing & cooking in school. You are so talented and the fabric you choose is stunning. Hope you find inspiration to do more. You’re one of my favourite content creators to follow.Looking forward to your next project. Hope you find an occasion to wear this dress. It’s too pretty not to be worn.
so beautiful! you can cut out some simple flower shapes from the organza itself, they will look more cohesive with the dress because the colours will match perfectly.
Again you hit it out of the park No words to describe your talent. You Are a designer. I wish I had someone like you back in the 70's when I was taking fashion illustration. I really wanted to have a career in fashion. Again, my dear. Beautiful work. Gorgeous dress. Bravisima!!😊❤
The new Little Mermaid dress would be so pretty!! Also the navy blue dress princess Merida wears in the movie Brave would be pretty also!! Love your vids!! 💖
As a fellow sewer I have a unique challenge, my challenge isn’t to make one piece but rather an aesthetic outfit. The one I would pick for you as a challenge would be adventurecore since it’s different from what you normally make. If you decide to go with it I would love to see what you make!
I really would love to ask for one thing only on your videos, as a new sewing person. Could you maybe add how much fabric yard you used for thze projects in your case? So I get a feeling on what takes what yard to do. If that is not too much to ask, or how much you bought and if you have leftovers... please?~ that would really help
It looks sooooo good so i think i’m gonna do something the same but a little bit different so don’t worry I i’m not gonna steal your dress model I am gonna do my own version of it 😊
Your dress is amazing🌸🌺! I adore it so much that I'd wear it nonstop 😍 The 3D flowers are a lovely , and now I'm feeling inspired to create my own dress too💝🌺
My request is an unusual one. Please make your own version of Scarlett O'Hara's green and white gown from gone with the wind. Or the opening white with a red belt one. Those dresses are absolutely beautiful and would look fabulous on you.
I actually did make her white and green dress a few years ago! I never got around to getting many photos or videos of it, but just a few days ago I posted a UA-cam short and it’s at the end of that video😄 I’d love to make the dress with the red belt eventually though.
@@_alexandra.louise_ thank you for responding to me and for telling me which video to find the green and white dress. I adore your channel. You are so talented
I used to be 425 lbs when I got my plus size dress form so it didn't fit me. Lost 187 lbs so it probably fits now but a tip if you have help for someone with no dress form. You can saran wrap yourself and with a friend and then do this tape technique right on your body just Try not to saran wrap yourself too tight. Cosplayers use this technique for armor. I really should pull that mannequin out and measure it again lol.
This looks gorgeous. If I may ask, could you tell me from where did you learn sewing, dressmaking. I wish to take a course, just don't know where to enroll myself into😢
Amazing dress Alexandra I am wondering if you share the making of Elsa spirit dress and the island princess Barbie dress and wondering where are your furry kitty can't wait for the next video

I’d love to see Giselle’s blue curtain dress from Enchanted, you’d be one of the few who could do it justice✨💓
Yes that would be so amazing, please do it 💜
That was one of my favourite dresses in movie history. So simple but so elegant. It also shows Giselle’s character and her creativity. It was absolutely beautiful ❤

I know it's a newer one, but i would LOVE to see you tackle the Barbie Princess Charm School dresses, with the gem stone- inspired bodice!!

Yes please!😍 i would love to see that
I use the tape method for making patterns too but if you wrap cling wrap to the dress form beforehand you can cut it off without risking breaking the tape, and it doesn’t have a sticky back anymore! :)

holy shit this is gorgeous 🤯 the circle skirt with the ruffled tier, the lacing on the center back, the applique flowers, everything is perfect!

Your work is exquisite, I can't get enough of your videos 😍💖 thanks so much for creating such inspiring content
Think I'd use low tack painters tape. I think its less likely to leave residue on the dress form.
