Hi everyone, I know now thanks to your comments that Esprit is pronounced "es-pree", most players I've met have pronounced it es-pret and is why I pronounce it as such in the video. Unfortunately since I cant change the video, you're gonna hear a lot of the "-pret" and not "-pree". I also realized a bit after uploading the video that the tool tips for DNC was not highlighted correctly. To be honest, I rushed putting this video out and didn't realize this mistake even after showing the draft to others before posting. Please keep in mind that this video was just made for fun and to bring awareness to DNC players who still live in SHB (or are misinformed) and think they won't get esprit if they DP someone who isn't a melee. I didn't expect this video to blow up the way it did. Thanks again for the support and I hope you all learned something! I stream on Twitch almost every night and I'm always documenting my FRU prog with my static on AST if you guys are interested (link in desc). Oh, and DP is always on my static's caster unless he is doing less DMG than the melee. :) TLDR: I know now I pronounce Esprit wrong. I made a mistake in the tool tips highlight, oops. This video isn't the bible for DNC and this video isn't perfect.
Wound up getting dance partner in one dungeon as a DRK. INITIALLY the RPR was the one with it, but later it got switched to me. RPR threw a fit, but DNC responded with "start doing some proper damage for once and maybe ill put it back." I kept dance partner the rest of the dungeon
Also: 2 Dancers partnering each other does stack. 2 dancers partnering the same 3rd dps doesn‘t. I still see people not partnering the other dancer in a dungeon.
One time I was tanking as a GNB with 2 dancers. One of the dancers partnered me which got the other dancer mad and abandoned the duty. a SAM got substituted then quit immediately for some reason. then finally a Roegadyn monk wearing only a Chocobo head joined us. To this day I have never had a funnier experience in a game that didn't involve someone dying.
Yeah, I play DNC and got a light party roulette where the the other DNC wouldn't DP me. Didn't quit, but did politely inform them they were doing it wrong. Not that they listened.
I only play casually, so no current savage or extreme content. As such, I usually just give it to the DPS with the highest HP, whilest taking into account the different max HP due to roles.
Here are some tips and tricks regarding Dance Partner from a Penta Legend DNC main. DISCLAIMER: These are just general guidelines that are not objective facts. There too many variables like content type and others' individual skill; and these are for people that don't or can't run ACT such as myself. Starting off with The current (7.05) Dance Partner Priority Guideline: Pictomancer > Viper > Melees > Black Mage > Casters > Ranged >>>>>>> Tanks > Healers Your job is not to worry about esprit, but to boost the highest DPS in the party. Make sure your buffs aligns with their buffs. If your current Dance Partner dies. Swap to a new partner. Buffing someone with Weakness or Brink of Death is terrible as you are buffing 5% of their 50% or 25% damage output. Dancers can DP each other. Standard Finish 5% buff does stack. However, I recommend one of you delaying the party buffs (Technical + Devilment) so that you both get 40 seconds of buff instead of just 20 since Devilment doesn't stack, and the rest of the party only gets one Technical buff. It does mean whoever delays it won't have a full buffed burst, but it's better for the party overall. And remember, your job is to buff others. That being said. Two Dancers giving DP to some other, third player does not stack at all. If you aren't sure of which DPS to give DP to, check their gear. You want to give it to the person with the better ilv gear (starting with the weapon) as that means they will just naturally do more damage. As a last resort, you can use the aggro list to see which DPS is doing better. (the numbers and bars below the job icons on the party list.) This is to keep track of enmity, which a lot of things generate it. Tank stance, healing, and damage dealt. However, a great DPS player will do big damage, generating a lot of enmity, pushing them to a higher number in the table. It's not super reliable, but in some scenarios, it can be a good educated guess. Cuz that's what it is, just a guess, as a last resort mid fight. Bonus tip outside of Dance Partner. For the love of God, don't use Devilment on its own. And don't use it before starting Technical Step. Its Technical Finish then Devilment.
Almost correct except the General Dance Partner Prio is : PCT/SAM > RPR/VPR/MNK/NIN > DRG/BLM > RDM > SMN > MCH > BRD > DNC And for ultimates you usually want to give the PCT if there is one
Im a healer ive run many dungeons and a few i end up with 2 dancers. And only one dungeon were the dancers paired up with me and the tank. It was a really enjoyable experience.
I find that funny enough, the dancers arent the ones that need to hear this but Samurai mains throwing an unholy fit about not being the golden child lmaooo

@@icebarrage_iwc yeah i wish it always worked that way haha. I've had several dancers keep the PCT dp'd even with situations like i mentioned because " hah hah funny paint class do big dmg". I hate the discourse about PCT dmg being busted because it's attracted so many dogshit players to it and a ton of DNC's just keep them partnered for that very reason.
But PCT isn't even the best dps for dance partner even when you ignore the myth of espirit. Yes, the rDPS of Picto is currently the highest in the game from the 40th percentile all the way to the 99% cheesy stuff. But when you go to adps, as in, when you remove the benefit everyone else is receiving from Starry Sky, they're always behind vpr/sam/blm (as they should be btw), which means that all three of the selfish dps's would benefit more from partner providing they aren't brain dead. Its not like Dance Partner is going to contribute to Starry Sky's inflation any further. This is all observable as data in fflogs, but since the community is incapable of reading or even knowing what rdps even _is_ or why its the metric used you'll get people thinking pct should be the default. So ironically people misunderstanding epsirit is/was helping the proper people get it regardless.
im sure its not optimal but since ppl always tell me it doesnt reeeaallyy matter in regular content, i always liked giving it to the "weaker" DPS, buffing them to be stronger instead of the one whos "already good"
I mean it does turn a class who's already doing good damage into doing great due to how damage works, but ultimately it doesn't really change much. Maybe you spend 10-30 seconds extra in the duty? So nothing to cry about. What will matter is if someone's geared and someone isn't though
Kinda weird they use the French word considering how much German the Dancer class story uses. Even weirder now considering Thavnair is basically "not India". Dancer's kinda all over the place.

@@emurray304 and there hasn’t been any confirmation on how much this affects each role since DT Testing is still happening for dancer esprit generation and the calculators won’t come out for a few more months. My counter argument is that in casual content, the difference is negligible anyways. I just give it to the player with the best glam. :D
My favorite is running a dungeon as DNC with another dancer and they won't partner with you.
My favorite is running a raid pre-60 and the other DPS's are arguing over who gets the buff.
I'm not a Dancer player, I play melee/tank, but on the off chance I play Dancer in something aside from dungeon content I'm a gear checker 😅
The weapons look great with your glam gotta say! As a DNC main this helps a lot!

just always partner the Picto
depends on the PCT. not a good idea to default because ive been in plenty of PF parties as SAM where the DP'd PCT is still getting outdamaged by me.
yeah you could say that then half the time your picto is dogshit and if you had a dps meter you'd know you should be partnering somebody else.

SAM is still an ideal Dance Partner candidate due to 2-minute burst configuration with Devilment. Boosting their guaranteed Crit hits is optimal.
