If you have a subwoofer in your trunk then the Arnold's would compliment it. But if no subwoofer in the trunk and you just want to replace the door and rear deck speakers for overall bass, mids and highs, I would definitely go for the Orion.
Not sure if i agree with that. Having a sub doesn't dictate it. All depends on what your complete setup is. Are you looking for a higher note mid speaker or lower speaker mid. Do you run tweeters and component sets already? What does your sound stage sound like and where do you want? Just more questions then if you have a sub. Most things come down to personal taste.
Impressed with the Orion at high volume, but it sounds very muted or muffled at lower volumes. The Arnold appears to sound good at both high and low volume. Has a nice open, airy, and accurate sound whether being played high or low. I don't always want my volume cranked, so, personally, I'd go with the speaker that can play good at both high and low volume...Arnold. And no I'm not being biased or paid to praise Deaf Bonce. They just seem to make a nicer overall sounding speaker. If you want bass, get a subwoofer. Another kool vid! Thanks! Keep em coming!
It.'s not about volume, it's about power. The Orion would sound better at lower volume with more power, he just didn't do it because that's not really a fair comparison. Mike did juice 'em up near the end and you can hear the difference. I have 4 of these in my Wrangler with an Orion XTR750.4 and they RIP! People ask me all the time "What you got in there!?" even when the subs aren't in the back (I take the box out sometimes).
Orion has more body to it full range! Deaf Bonce is more tinny so when adding a tweeter the high will be too overbearing! Orion's midrange is very thorough and has a phase plug for better controlled direction;)

Cory Petersen man car audio is all what you want plenty of good stuff out there and yes MMatts is great stuff love their amps and subs particularly. Right now Alford is hard to beat for the money! They got good stuff and it’s as cheap or cheaper then comparable stuff from other big names! They are where twisted sounds was at for a while they got the same good products but right now are selling so much they can let it go cheaper to establish their name! Good time to buy.
I love the DB but compared to the Orion it sounds a little too much in the mid section. Doesn’t sound as flat as the Orion. So unless you have a kick ass EQ the Orion is going to sound a little better
DB for straight clarity throughout the Hz range. You buy dry mids for midrange. If i want bass i will buy a midbass speaker. So for pure mids DB all the way. Makes your setup much easier.
Hey Mike , great job . Got some info on the orion speakers, they will be back in stock and available at the end of November thru orion !... Now give me some speakers ! Ha..
Orion has fuller sound, but still it apears to be singing like from a cave, i hate these ProAudio speakers having this echo/cave sound. They're not warm like a good sounding speaker should be
the deaf bounce are too high, sound more like a coax then a true mid. To each their own. Guess it's going play out whatever setup you have and are looking for. My 1 setup already has 2 component sets @ 6-1/2 in front and rear and 6-1/2 "subs" in the sails along with a 10" sub in the back. I'm replacing my 6.5 "subs" and are going with a true mid. Don't need higher mids, looking for more low mids and punchy. Orion will be for me. Both sound good, each its own beast.
The Orion mids are true mids they are made for words and mid-bass unlike the deaf bounce mid which has hardly any bass at all just they just have words and tweet which in nobody needs tweet out of mids that’s why we have tweeters so in my opinion I like Orion better
