Welcome back to another toy review video with me Pixel Dan! Today I'm reviewing the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem Pizzafire Van. Regarding the Pizza Shooter, I have a feeling some will ask if it tilts. IT DOES NOT tilt downwards. It can slightly tip upwards (not far), but the sculpt prevents it from tilting downwards at all. So those pizzas will continue to sail right over the bad guy's heads. 😂😂
not if you sacrifice some styling and put smaller rims and tyres on the van. Got to think outside the toy-box
Honestly it was odd that it doesn't tilt down. Especially where that screw on the side makes it look like it's meant to tilt down. Maybe if you loosened the screw a little you could get it to tilt down a little.
@@Nightshade794You can see the inner section on the tilting section of the shooter has an extra chunk of plastic sticking out stopping it from pointing downward, I feel like that’s probably a design issue they’ll fix if the line continues beyond just a movie, though to be fair the baddies will likely also get vehicles which is really the reason why the Turtles build a custom van that can chase them down rather than trying to attack them on foot.
It's interesting that they combined the Van with the pizza launcher. You'd think they would try to sell two toys. This represents a pretty great value. Those motorcycles on the back of the box looked pretty neat. The motorcycle (with trash can sidecar) was my favorite vintage TMNT toy.
The Sewer Cycle! So good! I also like that the Van now has a functioning component to it.

Feels very inspired by the updated Ecto-1 from Afterlife.
Honestly I think it’s more a problem with the villains being too small than a problem with the van itself

@@Pixel-dan July 20 marks 50 yrs since Bruce Lee died , he likely died due to drug abuse per Bob Baker letters that came out 2021. Ive got his nunchucks that he used at Golden Harvest studios. Splinter actually have Tao of JKD in his book shelf in a Mirage comic book.
The problem is the video itself. It's a cannon. It's made to arc the pizzas at them from a distance, not point blank range.

I think the idea is that the villians have to be further away like the original pizza thrower.

I see these flying off shelves if they ever hit clearance, an easy repaint for a 1/12 scale vehicle or a NECA news van
That's a really cool Pizza 🍕 Van. I remember having the original Turtle 🐢 Van from the cartoon. Unfortunately it was lost to time and second hand ones are pricey $$$

Great review! Thank you!. It's a nifty mash-up of TMNT vehicles, but it definitely looks like all the budget went into that amazing pizza shooter.
This line up is really nice, villains might be a little small but the turtles really have personality to them.
My van's front cabin door doesn't have that problem but the side door does pop open fairly easily if you slightly tap the pizza. But I've found if I give it a better push it will lock in better.
So tempted by this! I guess my only thing I would have liked alternate stickers for just blue windows instead of having Mikey in there, lol.

The sewer set is weird to me, it has subway tracks on the pedestrian level (I get it’s to accommodate a play feature but still a strange decision stylistically) also it has a whole ton of character stickers which probably won’t bother kids but definitely irritates me in a similar way the window sticker of Mikey does Dan (which does make it seem he NEEDS to be the one shooting those pizzas to make sense)
So cool. I will definitely get that, who doesn't want a TMNT pizza firing van. The price isn't bad either.

Wow.. I was almost considering collecting all of the new stuff because I loved the new movie.. Until I saw how flimsy this new van looked.. As someone who owns the 2012 Party Wagon (which admittedly felt less heftier than the Shellraiser), I can proudly say that it's still in GREAT condition, same as it was the day I opened it (minus a few stress marks on the mirrors somehow). This new vehicle looks like it's going to cave in and crumble over time. What is it with everybody using flimsy plastic for things that should be sturdy nowadays? I wouldn't have minded if the plastic was soft around JUST the front, but it's practically the whole vehicle!
The figures look really nice, I might get them, but I'm not sure about the van.. Thanks for the review though! It's amazing to see how much something can change within almost 11 years.

I have to admit I absolutely love the original playmates partywagon van but I was always disappointed in it. It's pains me to admit this but in the cartoon, which I was a massive fan of, had computers in the party van and when the sidedoor opened it had a laser. I always wondered why these weren't included in the party wagon toy. I mean my imagination changed it in my head, but i have always thought that this should have been included.

Pizza launcher can be rotated upwards and downwards so you can aim better at close ranges.

Looks nice. The actionfeature is cool. But like you said the plastic is a little bit to soft and that the doors not close perfectly is dissapointing. But still cool.

The action figures pale in comparison to the original. Random, but I remember having an A Team van as a toddler...that van was made of real metal. Lol our toys were heavy back in the 80s.
They were heavy back then.
@@Pixel-dan literally & figuratively....I remember the metal Voltron toys or the large WWF toys from the 80s. The detailing was truly masterfully done. Little did we know that we were playing with things that could one day be in art exhibits.
Ugh stickers, I used to have a lot of lego so stickers were dreaded. That van is pretty cool and it could be good from making customs.

Dan, how wild is it that we get excited about the actual TOYLINE being displayed on the back of a box? It is literally bewildering to me how may marketing departments get this SO wrong for SO many toys in the modern day. I'll say it again for the corporate schmoes in the back - THIS IS FREE ADVERTISING! This forces kids who open this to SEE the rest of the line, to elicit a curiosity for other figures, to create aspirational play. Playmates gets so much right these days - I think just all around they are the best TOY company for their brands. I didn't say the best "figures" or "vehicles", the best TOY COMPANY. They are getting it so right in their packaging, their theming and the incorporation of the retro toys we loved. I never thought in a million years to include both the Pizza Thrower AND the Turtle Van all in one. Genius!

I haven't seen a review on the mutant mayhem turtles in disguise party pack. I seen it for over a week and waited to get it and it's like nobody knows about it. I don't have a target just Walmart and that's the only place you can get them but not baby Turtles for me

@@Pixel-dan Yes I did! The stickers were kind of annoying, and the back door wasn't closing properly at first (I bent it back into shape), but other than that, it's really good!
A good tip wipe down the van with Alcohol so stickers have better adhesion to surfaces

I think the van is cool but the stickers suck. I don't want to see stickers of the turtles permanently inside. Still a great modern turtles van!!!!!!

The Van is sitting high with those large tires compared to the past releases with smaller wheels. The plastic quality is questionable, and the way the figures sit in front doesn't have a way to secure them. The rear hatch is kind of useless not having a tiny turtle cart-type vehicle. The scooter that was released won't even fit in the rear, and Ralph doesn't even have a chair to sit at the back.
I still like the old TMNT van from the 1987 series and the 2012 series as the design certainly can still be used with the TMNT Mayhem figures. You're actually paying for the battery operate pizza-thrower gimmick for this van. It's not perfect, but for those who just want to have this for their figures, it is for what it is.
This van dose one of the most annoying things any play set or vehicle can do that being permanently, putting one of the characters on a sticker

I doubt the kids these toys are intended for will care about this but it does bug me.

It seems a bit cheaply made, especially for a kid's toy. One day in a toy box with something on top of it im sure will warp that flimsy frame. It looks decent in design but poor execution. I like the video description, seems like a Playmates spokesperson wrote it. I don't understand the "intricately designed" and "unique features" part though. This is basically a cheaper re-skin of stuff we already have seen. Customizing it for a display piece on the other hand, now there's an idea...just as long as nobody drives it because they won't fit anyway, lol. For reals though, good review.

Admittedly, it does look kind of cheap and a bit stupid that it doesn’t really aim at the bad guys at all…and my kid will probably love it! It kind of reminds me of all the Little People vehicles he has, especially the Food Truck.

It's really hard to get any figures inside where the launcher is.
When your action feature won't work the way its intended because you made the villains too small.
They aren't supposed to be right up on it. That wouldn't make any sense. It's made to be fired at them from a distance.
