After Jacob bullied the other teams with his strong Pokémon he decided he was going to take a more subtle approach and let HIS Pokémon get bullied. Now that’s equality
TBF, the video he was reacting to was a pretty legendary Pokemon challenge run. It's Gamechamp's video on beating Pokemon Blue without taking any damage, which is especially hard/stressful in that generation because of the 1/256 glitch- almost all moves, even ones with "100%" accuracy, have a 1/256 chance to miss in Gen 1. She also, like a madwoman, decided to do the run savescum-less, unlike smallant's Pokemon Platinum no damage run: ANY damage would result in a deletion of her save file and force her to start over from the beginnning.
I feel with these challenges the real "story" is the puzzle solving of the game, not the "can you" aspect. As you showed, Colress could mess up nearly your entire team if you weren't careful and triple battles were nearly a run-ender.
This strat only worked against people who spammed legendaries and had no idea how to play the game competitively. Competitive players would always set up weather, stealth rocks, and use status effects, and they had no problem defeating such a gimmicky team.
It's a strat in any generation in 4 and beyond. Competitive players in any generation are stratified between those that know how to use non-attacking moves and those that keep attacking into Pain Split Nosepass until they lose.
I have seen an incredible spike in the rising popularity of the Unova Games lately. And it speaks volumes. Black 2 was my first Pokémon game, and it will always be my favorite one, no matter how many games they make. So I just wanted to say thank you, Icarus.
I think it was Pokemen7 or MandJTV who noted that part of why they're so popular now is because the people who were kids playing them are now older fans who can have nostalgia for them. The cutscene of said dragon being spliced into Kyurem? The sheer perspective of Castelia City? Love it. Love Black 2, love the look of Gen V.
If you think White 2 has amazing presentation, you don’t remember experiencing Skyarrow Bridge in White for the first time. God, this is why Gen 5 is my favorite generation.
the nostalgia from when i played black and white is crazy. it was my first pokemon game and i remember struggling so much being a dumb little kid, and i see Alpha winning with level 1 pokemon and i just feel embarrassed for me younger self
For the triple battle you couldprobably swap out one member for a mon with wide gaurd to deal with spread for a couple turns, or just use fake out and attack into it with 2 other pokemon.
Good job on making this entertaining! The fact that Iris's Haxorus specifically could invalidate your entire team if it chose to and you could only win by it being stupid was a really nice unintentional final boss. Also, man, what is it with DS ROMs and being incredibly unstable? Is it just BW2 that are like this? Has anyone...looked into this?
Imagine you meet Rick Astley. In his possession is a DVD copy of the Disney Pixar movie “Up”. Assume you were to ask him for the DVD. Rick Astley claims that he will never give you up, but by not giving you Up, he’s letting you down, which he also claims he’ll never do. Along with this, if Rick Astley were to do neither, and just walk away instead, this would also be a problem because he claims that he’ll never say goodbye and desert you. If none of these options seem viable and Rick Astley instead decides to kill you, that also wouldn’t work because he will never hurt you. He can’t lie about not owning “Up” because he won’t tell a lie. Rick Astley can’t deny the paradox because he knows the rules, and so do I

But I also liked seeing Jacob rapidly descend into madness as he just rambles about trying to make a script about doing the exact same thing for an entire game. I do love Unova, though. I played a lot of Black 2 and it was my reintroduction into Pokemon. Seeing Kyurem legit try to kill the player only for N and his dragon to save the day? The cutscene of said dragon being spliced into Kyurem? The sheer perspective of Castelia City? Love it. Love Black 2, love the look of Gen V.
If you think White 2 has amazing presentation, you don’t remember experiencing Skyarrow Bridge in White for the first time.
God, this is why Gen 5 is my favorite generation.
"Gen 5 is overrated"
Now who decided that?
It took up a tiny part of the video but I love the Pokemon Stadium references
Elesa R34 does go hard... And yes I didn't know it existed before this video, ty Alpha for the good content and good recommendations
Genuinely the only negative thing about Alpharad's videos is that they're not longer! Favourite youtuber atm hands down!
“level 1 Pokémon should be banned” Pokémon showdown never ceases to amaze me
I love the poke showdown meme in the middle. That exactly what they do in every video. XD
the nostalgia from when i played black and white is crazy. it was my first pokemon game and i remember struggling so much being a dumb little kid, and i see Alpha winning with level 1 pokemon and i just feel embarrassed for me younger self
For the triple battle you couldprobably swap out one member for a mon with wide gaurd to deal with spread for a couple turns, or just use fake out and attack into it with 2 other pokemon.
I love how he said I just cheated instead and then played dream music
the fucking showdown clip had me laughing way harder than i should have been
RUH ROH RAGGY
Gave me temp6t vibes
Fr tho
@@der_saftmon that’s because it was from Temp6t. He’s credited in the description
temp6t makes LOTs of videos like that, i don't even play pokemon casually NOR competitively but his videos are great
Good job on making this entertaining!
Having the C-gear (the thing in the bottom screen) active makes the game crash a lot
“Aw they died” Alpharad 2022
You succeeded in making this VERY entertaining because this is hilarious and a genuinely really fun video to watch!
2:48 another golden clip
that Pokémon showdown thing was the funniest thing all day I’ve seen
Alpharad showing how to lame someone out in Pokemon has made me realize that, with determination, you can make anyone else suffer with you :)
This video has higher quality comedy than 99 %of what i saw the last 8 years. GG
I love how the guy on showdown criticised you for having a stall team yet he had a blissey
Rick Astley can’t deny the paradox because he knows the rules, and so do I
You just never cease to drawn us in with these titles
3:05 Oh, so it was Mario who had captured a Blissey.😮
Ah yes the Temp6t brand of going into showdown with a gimmick team and watching legendary spamming noobs MALD. Never gets old
I love how to this day Jacob is still salty about Braden's infamous strategy for the jynx in fire red. And tbf I don't blame him
I just love how accurate the Pokemon showdown clip is
2:29 They may be able to kill God, but they can't kill FEAR itself.
I love how he trolled people on showdown just to assert his dominance
Also it has been 9 years since I have seen someone use F.E.A.R and h love it
I like how Jacob censored a lot of the swearing from the Showdown segment. Anyone using that team who encounters a level one stall team would be swearing if not slurring a lot
Very happy that this video uses my favourite ‘mon, Shedinja, and the first evolution of my second favourite ‘mon, Aron.
I'm loving the B2W2 appreciation towards the end of the video. Best main series game
