and here we are!!! Stephanie didn't attend the show and there were already problems between her and Eric long before Beth and Brooke came into their lives
Thank you for the upload, it's really cool watching these old episodes. Catherine Kelly Lang has been in the bold and the beautiful since day one!! That is a wonderful accomplishment, congratulations Catherine..
9/30/2023: Watching this episode all these years later, I realized that Ridge proposed to Caroline mainly because she wouldn't be physically intimate with him unless she was his wife!!
Another great episode. I really like the two main stories running right now. Boy, I really get the feeling that Ridge is only marrying Catherine just to piss off Bill in the biggest way ever. I really like the acting of Jim Storm. He gives Bill some real gravitas and a menacing presence when the situation calls for it. As for the Brooke situation I find the air of mystery about who the attackers were very interesting. The family dynamic in the Logan home is fascinating here. I'd love to find out more about their whole thing and how it will connect to the Forresters. (I'm getting help with names/actors through the B&TB wiki) Finally, the one person I totally recognize, Susan Flannery! Whenever my mother would watch this soap she'd be the one character I could recognize. She certainly brings an air of class to the proceedings.
Ridge was definitely about sticking it to Bill when he asked Caroline to marry him. But it does eventually becomes something more than that. The dynamic of the Logans is very much interesting. Most fans only know them as the sex kittens that Brooke and Donna have become and the nosy, nagging git Katie is but they were once the warm center of the show. They didn't have a lot but they did have love they shared. Despite their limited space, they didn't hesitate to open their home to Caroline after her attack at her apartment, for instance. It makes it all the more sad that Brooke in particular goes on to screw over so many in her family.
Boy even then Margo was in love with Eric. I can understand how angry Stephanie is with him. Also Eric would find out that `Ridge Isn`t His Son!` The truest thing that Margo said is "You Have Another Son!" It was her way of saying Thorne is just as good but you don't give him the same props you give Ridge. Even to this day there's always been this Competition between the two, kind of like The Spaulding Men on Guiding Light.
I don’t get why everyone says Ridge and Caroline are the most amazing love story. They didn’t know each other well, he was dating other women til he decided he wanted to spite her father and she refused to sleep with him til they were married, so he proposed. He’s clearly doing it to annoy Bill rather than out of love. That sounds borderline abusive tbh, definitely best case scenario, not romantic!
Thank for uploading these episodes back to back. I wanted to see all these episode since I got into the show when it was aired in the UK and was gutted when it was taken off. Keep up the good work watching from episode 1 onwards
Ridge may have liked Caroline, love??? Let's say infatuated with her. He ask her too marry him to pissed off Bill...that reaction is not of a man in love
I love Susan Flannery's first scene. It just hits me that although she was almost 48 here she looks a bit older, maybe producers wanted that look to her or maybe it's the clothing, compared to women today who look much younger at that age. Excellent actress!!
At this time Susan was still beautiful, albeit as an older woman and that’s cool too. But in her prime, she was absolutely stunning. I don’t know if you ever watched “The Towering Inferno” but she’s in that s Robert Wagner’s love interest. She was in her mid-late 30’s in that film.
I started watching this years ago but i was curious about the drama before. Thanks for making this available from the beginning. Still following the show in the current time so im watching double. Hope it doesn't confuse me lol
@@MsCwarrior Exactly my opinion. Because she sounds bitter. Eric always had affairs, she said that later. No wonder then she saw no reason to go to bed with him. Why should she The future has shown that Eric has never changed, he was always after skirts and only thought below his belt. Today he sees where his always young women take him. Now he is in that position.

Started to watch the old episodes again after so many years. I noticed on the present show that the three storylines are always one front story line, and the other two storylines that are always rehashing what in the front story happens or happend. What happened get rehashed over and over and over, while in the old shows you had one front storyline and two other minor storylines, alternating to become the front story line... etc, but the characters had their own stories and where not talking about other peoples stories. So I stopped watching the show after the death of Stephanie.

Eric was always after sex it seemed. Now with his current storyline with Quinn, it seems like that’s been taken away. Stephanie loved him, but he took that for granted.
He wanted affection from his spouse, which included the physical. Stephanie was an excellent character, but she had a tendency to be platonic in her relationship with Eric. The show often had her being a quite frigid in her marriage even when things were good. That's not a good thing.
Why change the aspect ratio? We know that it, like every other show before the late 00’s, was broadcast in full screen. It’s how older shows are still shown in syndication today. Why try to make it look like it’s in widescreen by cutting off the top and bottom of the picture? The close ups on actor’s faces were shot knowing there was more picture on top and bottom but now cropping it to appear to be today’s aspect ratio is cutting off the top of their hair and bottom of their faces. It’s actually quite distracting when I’m assuming the intention was to make the product appear more modern and like how we watch everything now and have gotten used to but it is truly the opposite.
