Absolutely! Although I don't think having people involved on site is a good idea... It would be better just to make the whole thing automated! Make the facility close to a Space Station though incase something needs to be repaired that can't be fixed by a robot.

Yes definitely. You always need the outside the box thinker or the person who understands how the walls of the box works as if the box was made to hold more than its supposed to be able to but yet its light you see what i mean..? A cardboard box how its made its durability is outstanding but yet its light do they make rocket walls like this? Or they solid and insulated and solid again with air chambers to balance and shift weight or angle adjustment with water weight or even and aird angler thatd shfit the force direction without thrust or gas or feul. Water has electric ions or as whatever keeps it together in a liquid form use water from all around buid a turbine for it exactly and harness the water and the power from it. As well as air holes with air turbines inside to build a charge. And why cany we, say take a magnifying glass and the sun you focus the beam and its powerful so why not do it with solar panels for solar power magnifying its rays received and harness more power faster and continuously

If I were young enough, I'd work in space, or on the Moon/Mars. The reputation of the company would affect the choice as well. No space sweatshop for me. Adjusting to a challenging living environment, and the potential inherent dangers are an acceptable risk for such a new human endeavor that pushes us into the future.

Don't ignore SpaceX for things like this, Musk may very well do it on a whim once Starship is operational.

Blue Origin and Boeing need to call it quits and concede that they cant beat Space-X in the launcher areana and instead, partner up with him. Shake hands, say, lets colaborate, you talk to us, we'll talk to you, We wanna build stations and bases, you wanna build lifters... We we can help each other achieve our respective goals and add some perks along the way, we wouldn't mind throwing in on some of your other projects as well... It would push the technologies forward at a stupid fast pace and take away the costs of competition, Space-X probably wouldn't have any problems sharing ideas and innovations with like minded collaborators.
Hell, I would go so far as to push for starship to launch inflatable station hubs that starships could lock to, propose to take a branch of Kimbals food production into space as well as develop the groundwork for microgravity production facilities.

Make due due more excited for Rocketlab's Neutron with is Large diameter and cheap launch costs. It might not be able to carry a hige payload to LEO but because it will be almost fully reusable launch costs will go down significantly with each launch it was also made to launch in incredibly short time frames so this might be serious contender for getting stuff to the ISS replacement or any other spacestation for that matter.

I don't think they said they "would" build it. I think it is a proposal to NASA to replace the ISS. But I am sure that if NASA doesn't pay for it, it won't be built. What would be the reason if NASA doesn't select Orbital reef? Well, forget for now that NASA has already accepted a proposal to some degree from Axiom for their private station. But, the participants in Orbital Reef don't have a good reputation for cost and efficiency. We'll see what proposals NASA entertains.

In the slightly longer term, where the real money is will be in situ utilization of materials on the Moon and asteroids. Making metal plate; parts from magnesium, aluminum, manganese and titanium will enable making space liners to go to and fro to the Earth and Moon, Mars and beyond. Building orbing space stations and resorts from lunar materials can be done at a cost that is affordable. High tech items and people can come from Earth. Materials including volatiles from permanently shadowed lunar craters can provide methane, ammonia, carbon dioxide, oxygen and water for lunar bases, orbiting space facilities and large space craft. It is believed that the Moon has ores of rare lithophile elements such as beryllium, lithium, zirconium, niobium, tantalum, and so forth. They could be brought back to Earth for use.

I believe that starship as it is now is actually able to make it to extended low earth orbit(~400-500km height). Once on orbit, the inners of starship fuel tanks could be changed into habitable volume. Volume many times larger than what blue origin plans. If only could the SpaceX pull its head from the ass(Mars) and do something more meaningful than Mars colonization(which i believe is a resources sink bound to fail in the end)

I hear a lot of hating but not a lot of consideration for the person that had the vision of Tesla and SpaceX. Where they could be in the future and what they will do for us. Imagine being on the other end of the bench and having to put all of your expertise, time, money, blood, sweat and tears into something hoping it would be enough to make a difference! Tesla and SpaceX wouldn't be what they are today without Elon Musk in fact they probably would not exist. Let's look at the man who is a multi-dimensional thinker. Who is only looking out for a humanities best interest. Hearing him be ridiculed by a one-dimensional thinkers I find to be disrespectful. Considering he is the man of the millennium and I don't know if we'll know who Ben is next year, let alone in the next decade! Everything Elon is doing at this moment benefits humanity five to ten years down the road. Think about it before you become too judgmental. It's easy to point the finger but there's always three pointing back at you!
