- With the rough weather coming through in wave after wave January has been a tough month for finding and landing numbers of Trout. With water temps in the upper 40's Trout are stacking up in the bends of the creeks and looking for easy meals. Come along as I explore various creeks with some nice depth changes off of the Pamlico and apply some easy principles that you can apply anywhere that you fish as well! You mentioned Salt Strong as a club that helps you find the fish. I struggled until I found Salt Strong then now I think joining Salt Strong is an IQ test that I chose to pass! I look at Salt Strong as a lure that I put on the night before I go fishing.

What color was the lil slick?
Man I am going to be honest I am not sure. It is a Lil' Slick and I got it from Eastside Bait and Tackle in Washington NC. It call it a Troutcicle purple color. I don't know it it is a custom they carry or what but it works!!! I have the full sized in it as well from Eastside! Call them and I know they possibly will mail them or if you are close by stop in! They have a great selection!
