Smashed it. I've signed up to run the Yorkshire marathon next year. It'll be my third marathon and I can't wait. Hoping for better weather than you lot had 😵
I’ve done it a few times and this years weather was the worst ever! Hopefully you will have some great weather next year! Thank you for your comment. 👍🏼
Really enjoyed your vlog Ted. You captured why I got round cos the support in places was amazing but the bands around the course were so appreciated so thank you if that was you. I had very little training so ran with a pacer till 18 miles but ran 3.35.26. Leant many lessons it’s true a marathon only starts at 20 miles. You managed a superb time and well captured.
That was a great video and quiet emotional to watch back,it was my 1st marathon,I met some lovely people on the Facebook page and the actual day,and did a time of 4hr 30mins which I proud of.well done everyone.
What a great comment, thank you. It was definitely a fantastic group of people of the Facebook page but I met lots of nice people running too. Well done on your run! 💪🏼👍🏼
Confessing that I may have posted about "Maranoia" in the facebook group! 🙊😂 Absolutely incredible effort! Sunday's Yorkshire Marathon was my first ever marathon and I had the best time 🥰 4.24, and can confirm the wheels fell off for me at mile 22! But managed to team up with another lovely woman, who was also struggling, and we fought through the last 4k together after some run walking! :") A really incredible day, with lots of amazing people and yorkshire spirit! Thanks for sharing this really lovely video! :) Subscribed!
@@thristytothrive - Thanks for this message, it has made me smile! Well done on your 1st ever marathon, what an achievement, you should feel really proud. Here’s a fact for you when telling everyone of your achievement, the internet suggests that only around 1% (or less) of the global population has run a marathon! Impressive. 😃👏🏼👏🏼
Well done! Really enjoyed that especially as I ran York on Sunday too. I was going for sub 3:30 and was just under until mile 22, which, as you say, is where it gets tough. My pace dropped off and I finished in 3:33:09 - still a pb tho! But I cannot work out these last few miles of a marathon at all
Great video. I deferred this year due to injury, but the long stretch from Stamford bridge to Dinnington is dull at the best of times, but looked horrific in those conditions. Incredible time
It’s a long haul along that stretch of the route and the gradual climb each way is a killer, I was glad to get off it and back onto the country lanes! 😅
I think it could be a PB course but I haven’t run that many marathons! 😂 There is some undulation and I clocked 705ft of elevation but I guess you will get that with most marathons. It’s not a PB course in a storm though!! 🤣🤣
Haven’t watched the video but how do you determine the word ‘no training’? Do you mean no official plan or were you sat around doing nothing for last 12 months?
I run everyday but I didnt train for it building up the miles etc. If I was following a plan, by the time I got to the final longer miles I was enjoying an all inclusive resort in Rhodes and very limited running! 🙈🤣
Hi & Thank you! No, however I probably should! 🙈 I live in Nidderdale so spend my life on the hills & trails which I think helps with strength training and most of my runs are slow & leisurely however I do try and do a training session on a Tuesday and I put an effort in at Parkrun each week.
@@Ted-offroad Thanks Ted, Otley based here so not too far away. I’ve had 2-3 years of repetitive injuries so was just curious as you always seem so consistent with your running. Great running, sub 2.45 there at least with proper training 👍
@@Ted-offroad Fingers crossed, rolled my ankle coming down the Chevin so haven’t been able to run for 6 weeks and counting. I’ll be spectating Chevin Chase if I’m not ready to run! Good luck with it, and the Chevin Parkrun is a great route.
Great stuff. I did my second York marathon,at 61yrs old, after starting running a couple of years ago. To be honest,I don't think I will do another, too painful-5.24!. I decided I enjoy running, but only on trails👍

Thank you! 3:02!! That was so close! Next time. 😅
Well done and great video those conditions looked pretty grim, great how many turned out to support the runners despite awful weather.
Thank you. The support was brilliant given the rubbish weather! 😃
Great relatable content
Was feeling your pain in those last few miles

Well done mate. I was in that 6:20 group fair play for giving it a crack
Nice one, that was a tough pace to maintain, well done! 👏🏼👏🏼
Great run!! I had crazy maranoia for this run the night before and couldn't sleep at all. Managed 3:54 though which was a pb so am happy with that.
Nice one (the pb, not the Maranoia!), Marathons are crazy! 😂
Forgot to add, Well done on the PB! 👏🏼👏🏼
Unbelievable well done I managed 3:35 but fell apart in last 10k that’s super impressive
Thank you for the kind comment and great effort on your run, marathons are tough, especially in a storm! 🤣👍🏼
Cracking Effort in those conditions. I was with you during most of the Marathon. I am in the blue Ranelagh Harriers shirt. I smashed a 2hr 55min.
Ah, nice one! Huge well done to you too, that wind & rain was tough! 💪🏼👍🏼
Awesome buddy. I managed 3:15 on the day. Great day with the support considering conditions
Great result in tough conditions, well done! 👏🏼👏🏼
I did this last year..my very first marathon! I did it in 5 hours 15 mins. I was well chuffed and I enjoyed it. Congrats!
Well done & thank you! 😃👍🏼

Awesome effort on no marathon training 💪

Would you say this is a tough, hilly course or a PB course? And well done on the sub-3 with minimal training, that's a crazy time!
