Great vid and well done for taking part knowing the PB wasn’t expected. Thought I’d come back and say thanks again. I nearly pulled out after missing my march training block due to injuries. After seeing your recent videos about going to enjoy, I decided to take part. 1st Marathon and race in general - 3:38. I’m over the moon. Thanks man!
Wow thanks Samuel, that’s really great to hear! Glad you still went for it and 3.38 is a seriously good time for your first marathon, hopefully see you there next year 💪
Congratulations on that time Harry, I remember you saying you weren’t expecting anything special given your lead up but 3:33 is superb. I had you down (privately) for a 3:42 as I thought you’d do far better - and you did. Great video, you captured the atmosphere well and as you say, the crowds are amazing, they’re all over the course and it helps with that distance. Good to see you at 4 and 6 miles😊
Well done Harry. I was there on Sunday, in fact my mate is running in front of you for a chunk in the middle. He's in the red and white Knowsley Harriers top. I did 3:22:03 so was equally happy as I had an injury during my block that set me back 3 weeks. Still a 4 minute PB and 7 minutes faster than my time from last year on this course.
Well in mate! I did the Manchester Marathon as my first ever one. Had to start alternate between walking & running on the second half. Did it in 5 hours 30 so I’m soooo slow loooool
Amazing run, superb time. Manchester was great. I managed neg splits too and got my first sub 4, just, by 19 secs. 9.15, 9.14, 9.10, 08.58 at each 10k.
Well done Harry, great effort, I could only dream of getting a time like that so should be proud of that mate. I did it in 4 hrs 25, slow start being so congested, had a good pace and felt strong up until 19 to 20 when my right hip started going a bit. Had to shake it out, then did half a mile then walked a minute which helped. Best event ever. Like you said, crowd were amazing, never had so many people shouting my name out I loved it. Definitely doing the half later this year, finding it hard to recover though. Massage later this week thank god, hows your recovery going?
Thanks Dean and great effort by you to! The event was amazing, I’m so glad I took part. Massage sounds like a great idea, might try a slow recovery waddle tomorrow and then lots of stretching and chilling out for me 👌
@@harryruns1 😅 a waddle sounds about right mate. I've come to lakes for some hiking to recover, That's my favourite way to rest and relax, What's next for you?
Great video. You really captured the atmosphere of the crowds. They were brilliant! It was great to have lots of strangers shouting encouragement and using my name off my Bib. The most important question I have for you is this: what were the tiny tots quoir singing when you ran past? For me they were belting out Nirvana's smells like teen spirit. It was very surreal and I woke up this morning wondering if I'd imagined it 😂. Anyway great running dude. Well done. I'm happy with mine and ticked all my goals.
@@harryruns1 I ran it in 3:52. First ever marathon (and I'm not planning another). My optimistic goal was under 4 hours and my realistic goals were to run all the way without walking and get under 4:30. So I am really, really happy 😊. Absolutely smashed my goals.
Thanks Ian, I didn’t leave a bag in the bag drop but I did spend quite a long time lying on the ground in that area after the race so could have well been me 😅
Thanks for all the kind messages 😊 Please consider subscribing if you’re not already 👌
Awesome running. What a fantastic time 👊
Thanks Stu! 💪
Well done mate. I’m running this next year and hope to get a similar time as what you got 👍 🏅🏅🏅

That’s not a bad effort at all and you still got it done which is a great achievement in itself. Have you got another one planned?! 💪
@@harryruns1 going to defo do another one, would like to get a sub 5 hour. Up until I started pulling up I actually enjoyed it!!!
@@Costilicious3 you can definitely get there, I’m sure you learnt a lot from your first marathon training block to take into the next one

Well done Harry. Do you know btw, there’s an ultra runner with the same channel name as you @harryrunsUK
Thank you! And yes someone pointed it out to me recently. I’m just thinking of a name change I like 😊
