I could definitely see Eomer or Theoden deciding that if the Dunedain or elves can't hold onto it then they will have to do it themselves as regents till angmar and other enemies are destroyed ^^
@Rampaned what you could do, is take over and run the settlements and then once angmar and the goblins are out of the picture and destroyed, give them all back in one fell swoop 🙂
Eomer's army was absolutely R*PED by that auto-resolve ... what the actual hell?!? *edit* the catapult at Cair Andros is a game-changer ... hold at the gates and it'll be safe 👍
Hello, friend. It's sad that the Dunedain cannot help you, because Angmar has become too powerful and they cannot recover. Possibly the Elfs can do better, albeit you have problems in giving them garrisons. I suppose that even if the Dunedain have garrisons, the Angmarim armies are too powerful even for the garrisons to counter and they come in full might, possibly because Angmar is dueling the Dunedain. If they fall, this gives you the opportunity to recover and conquer their regions, apart from some that will have to go to the Elfs. This means that you might have to get some of the weight of the defense against Angmar yourself. Eomer has a new mission, to help Gondor by fighting Khand to unite their own regions. Though one thing I would do before is to clear the lands out of possible rebel armies that roam around - one of them is the Dunleding one, that is close to Byrig. I simply don't want them around, they cause devaststion. He has an easy road till Dol Amroth, from then on the fight will begin. If he acts close to Elfhelm, those two have many options how to move from then on, especially if Elfhelm gets reinforcements. Otherwise, start looking for the One Ring, that will finish both Mordor and the campaign. And now, let's get another small episode for our story: The messenger from Theoden came around Eomer's camp. A rider from Hornburg was it, that took the message via the relay system that Theoden had established after he countered the influence of Saruman. Eomer read the letter and then moved on from Byrig south. Anborn was, as usual, by his side. "We are going south", he told him. "The King ordered us to enter Gondor via Cirith Iaur. We'll pass from your lands". Anborn seemed clearly happy about this. "Gondor has retreated to its feuds", he said. "We'll get a good and warm welcome there. Steward Duilin has not forgotten his obligations and many supplies run from Cirith Iaur, despite the difficult hour of Gondor". "They sent you at the beginning", Eomer said. "That prooved to be more than enough". "He!", was the Gondorian's reaction. "I am not but a mere horseman, who has just travelled a lot. I am not even a knight. And we could not give more at the time, as Steward Denethor's attention was towards Mordor and we could not spare more". "But that was enough", Eomer said. "You did most of the job", Anborn said. "By resisting to Saruman, you got the power to get rid of his influence and run over Dunland and Enedwaith. That was enough. Theoden's character, so different than Saruman's, and the unity policy he followed, much better than even Steward Denethor's, gave the courage to your adversaries of old to take up their arms, join your ranks and kick the asses of Saruman's minions. That was enough. But now, we enter the big game". Eomer didn't reply instantly, showing with his silence his agreement to these words. "Do you know the new Steward?", he asked him. "What kind of man he is?". "The Numenoreans of the Neck", Anborn said. "They are pure Faithful, except for a minority, which is gone by now. They held firm when the others fell in the battle. Steward Duilin took over after the death of his father Duinhir and his younger brother Derufin has to be somewhere around there. Loyal men, we all have passed some very difficult eras and battles, hardened by the invasions of the Corsairs for centuries. The battle is in our nature, we don't falter and we don't surrender. And those are our governors now, what Gondor needs. It's no surprise that our borders are secure - possibly even more than anything else these days". "I've heard of the heroic defenses of old from your people", Eomer. "King Theoden often told us histories of them when we were young boys. And Eowyn loved them more than me and Prince Theodred". A smile was in Anborn's mouth when he turned to Eomer, but he didn't say anything. "That's why Lord Hirluin sent me north to come to you", he finally said. "We are loyal to our friends, in times of need that matter the most. Despite that Steward Denethor could not spare any forces, he told our lords to do what he couldn't, if we could spare anything. Those were my orders, that's what I did". "And now, it's time for Rohan to answer", Eomer said, with a warm and friendly hand on the shoulder of Anborn.
The whole North focus is dragging out the campaign; your trying to help Allies isn't working. I would either abandon that and leave them to their fate, or cheat some of their troops into the settlements when you hand them over so they get a garrison. The cheat is (for example): create_unit "Bree" "Dunedain Rangers" 5, or "Amanyar Swordmasters" for Elves.
As long as we hold this city Gondor shall never be threatened again!
and don't forget to light the beacons if you're enjoying the campaign!

That's definitely what I am leaning towards with how they keep failing to defend themselves xD

That auto-resolve though! You were facing nukes for sure 😓
