Ben, sick value video. Couple of questions - 1. 27:25 - Do we peel SB w a lot of A/K high w bd flush draw/bd st8 draw on the flop? If yes, those are the prime candidates to folding turn. Jx is way too strong to start folding. What are your thoughts on your turn calling range? 2. 39:06 - 3b BB vs BU w T4s? Isn't it much better to have a blocker hand like K3o or Q4s? 3. 58:15 - J7ss blocks IPs top pair and flush draw - and we get far too many folds imo. What do you think about keeping this combo in X-Call range instead of X-Raise. If you x-raise - what frequency? Also, what flush draws are best as XC and which are best as XR?
1. as I said, of course Jx is too strong to fold in theory but in practice it is a different thing. Based on my experience I see people way too often waking up with trips. 2. Yes in theory, uut he was folding a lot vs 3bets and then T4s is also profitable to 3bet. 3. Of course you can also check/call. Evs should be similar. Based on my experience people are way too sticky and lose and non believer in HU and I prefer going straight for value. A lot of my plays differe a lot from Theory optimum and I do adjustments based on my experience what is max ev against certain players or against the pool.
13:00 can you please breakdown how you call such a big turn bet with k8ss. Why do you think he can’t have any Ax hands. What do you do if you brick river? Is there any cards you would go all in on the river? Amazing content btw
13:25 I guess that double-barrel without equity always means bluff, but you refer to hands like J8, T8 that are blocked by K8s, but not blocked by K5, K6...However, J8, T8 are always behind Kx, on this board, so it's not a bluff, right?

Ben I have a hand just wanted to see if u could give me a quick general answer, I know there's icm involved but I had 33 4 handed on the button, 12 players left in the tournament I was in 10th with 18 big blinds, small blind has 7 bigs and big blind had 25, like I said I know I'm not listing pay outs here but I ripped it in thinking it's ok if small.blind calls and big blinds range should be pretty tight he was in 5th out of 12 want to know if this might have been a huge mistake

That was interesting video. 3 handed play in particular I saw a lot of overplayed hands or miss placed sizing. I also think Your SB 3b range is very wide 3 handed vs shallow stacks that have no fold equity. 55 was one of those spots and before that there was one more where You had even 86s. You definitely put yourself vulnerable to 4bets and even in 3b pots with such hands shallow You will be dominated significantly. Any post flop OOP overplay will cost You a ton of chips and EV in the long run. Wish You all the best Ben. I am fan of Your and Fedor's NLHE friend Steffan, Fedor also but I am starting to follow Your work. Just calling how I see it.
Ben here. 55 is a pretty standard rejam, just unlucky outcome. If you dont play those pocketpairs under 30bb aggressive, the BU can just run over you and it will hurt your winrate. The rest I agree from a theoretical standpoint, however, if you play exploitative, you will always be vulnerable for a counter strategy. Thanks for your input!
@@benjaminrolle7004 Hi Ben, Appreciate You responding man. I used to do SNGs, HU hypers, Spins and now do NLHE 6 max. I have done a lot of work in HRC (holdem resources calculator) for getting bubble ICM type of ranges. From SNGs I know when in bubble (which is similar to Your MTT spot when each pay jump affects equity of ranges), stack size matters a lot. If I recall correctly, with 55 You had a short stack somewhat solid player who knows how to slow play post flop open that BTN. If he is short stack, he is already aware that he should be much tighter in RFI as both CL and 2nd stack will attack him with 3b due to ICM factor. Even if he was 2nd stack in this spot, or You were 2nd he was 3rd stack for example, he will still not go monkey crazy with BTN RFI because as both 2nd and 3rd stack in those spots, he will face aggression from blinds via 3 bet jams due to ICM. As 3rd stack he will be scared of both stacks while as 2nd stack CL (chip leader) can own him pre flop and apply pressure. So with all that in mind, I mean well when I say 55 is too wide in such setup - as general expectations in these spot are that opponent will have very little to none FE (fold equity from BTN). All the best and look forward to Your content. That video with Steffan was gold (HH review and also interview - despite audio cutting).
@@benjaminrolle7004 Forgot to add about 86s 3b a bit more info. When shallow stacked, best 3b hands will be hands that have SDV (showdown value). Scs (suited connectors) are best used as 3b when deeper as they can realize their equity and get paid off. When shallow stacked or even with mid stacks, these hands end up being weak pairs with kickers or hands without SDV. So in those spots with lets say 30bb effective , if You prefer to 3b, better option is to go for linear 3b range which will consist of PPs , Axs , stronger AXo (AJo+) and then KTs+ QJs JTs type of hands. This range will be much better off vs shallower stack OOP where post flop often hands are played maximum 2 streets. All the best man, Charlie S
@@charlies3795 I disagree, I prefer to polarize my 3bets with 25-40bb eff with the focus on ax kx blockers. So the 54s and 55 3bets didn't make a lot of sense to me. K2o and T4s were good although the K2o shouldve been a little bigger

against my overall calling hands that contain pairs and better flushdraws it is a bluff
@@RaiseYourEdge right, but why is it better to bluff vs the range that contain more J8, T8? More FE for the 2nd barrel?
because they have equity to make a straight and folde equity against a Q and a 9.
