Spring can't come soon enough! Starting to get cabin fever with all this snow up in the north. Redeye Shad two tap and thunder cricket are my favorite pre-spawn baits.
Only been fishing like 6months so I've never fished a pre spawn , very excited for it here in MD , tired of all this snow. Definitely gonna try the thunder cricket out

Man, I can't wait. Spent this evening in long lines for groceries- big snow and ice forecast for the next few days. Can't wait for spring. Probably another month here...but 2 months for shorts, lol. A bladed jig and a stick worm...2 of my favorites! The footage of the Thundercricket underwater was superb.
I live near where Jeff does. It is fishing paradise in the spring. The cricket is hard to beat in the Spring it is my favorite. I have seen Jeff on the water and he is the consummate pro. I have seen him demonstrating how to use his gear to others on the water. PS he can crappie fish too.
Strike King Thunder Cricket, Skirt color is Black and red or chart/ white with color matching swim baits, menace grub, or rage bug. That’s all there is to it really.

Man would love that rod and reel! Spinner bait for pre-spawn. Water is muddy a lot of the time due to rain, which will sometimes knock fish around where they suspend. The blades call them in.
For sure the first set-up I pickup almost anytime of year is the ThunderCricket. Excellent search bait and of all the blade-baits, the TK moves the smoothest.
Last year was the first year I really started using the thunder cricket. Tied on a green pumpkin with a honey candy rage menace inate April in clear water. I just hammered'em. Landed 25/26 largies. One was 4 Lbs, and one was just over 4-1/2 Lbs. Those are hogs here in Michigan. It is now a bait and I have extreme confidence in. As long as the pike don't destroy'em or break'em off.
My favorite is the bluegill pattern thunder cricket. Most of the lakes and ponds I fish have bluegill as their main forage. That color is the perfect imitation!
Since those craws are starting to turn red, and the water is still a bit chilly. I think I’m gonna throw a Strike King Chick Magnet (Spring Craw color). This has the right action, and color to produce bass!‼️🎣
Bass Wishes! Like throwing suspending jerkbaits in the pre-spawn. Would be willing to try a bladed jig now. What's Andy Montgomery's go to gas station snack?
Here in Bennettsville South Carolina our lake is grassy with that being said my favorite is a Green Pumpin Thunder Cricket along with a Green Pumpkin Rage Bug with the appendages off to give the bait lift, Bass primarily feed on Bluegill in the lake and nothing works better at imitating that than Green Pumpkin 😎 #FishOn #StrikeKing #ThinderCricket #RageBug
Well if we are talking pre-spawn then you will see several different Strike King Red Eye Shads on and the two tap one. The water color will dictate the kind of red I am throwing on the flats, but mostly likely you will see the Delta Craw color Strike King Trap hooking them.
I like the thunder cricket. It’s a great bait. I wish the skirt was hand tied with a wire so the skirt could stay in place a little better. Other than that, it’s awesome.
He’s close to my home of 59 years in Central Texas. Ray Roberts is my home lake. It’s hard for me to keep a big spinnerbait out of my hands during pre spawn. One of my 4 double digits came off a spinnerbait. I lost another one that I saw clearly that was a double digit and she broke my spinnerbait arm at the R bend.
Fork ? Tawakoni? Bob Sandlin? Fork is 6 ft low. We need rain in north Texas. This has to have been filmed last spring because we just got hit with another mini snowmageddon. But the spawn will be on soon here.
36 and raining here in MD , it's about the warmest it's been in about a month, ice everywhere pretty much but this got me so fuckin hyped for warm weather and power fishing 🙌🏿

Man this video is giving away my pre spawn secrets lol. I love throwing a 1/2 oz thunder cricket but I use a rage bug trailer not the menace
Looking forward to giving the ThunderCricket a try. I'll have to compare it to my jackhammers though, see which is most effective. Tight lines!
Love Buck N’ Bass and Jeff!!!
My favorite pre spawn bait is a red eye Shad…
Let’s go! Ready to get on em
