Thanks for the video. It was lovely to meet and talk to you both at Mappleton Beach recently. The Concrete Blocks on the Beach are the one I used to run up and down back in late fifties.
The sea is soon going to be inland a long way by the looks of them low cliffs near to where you got on to the sand omg thank you for this and your other brilliant videos all the best for NY 25 👍👍😊
You're so very welcome and yes, the area you speak of is Rimswell...it will end up cutting off withernsea one day. There used to be a mere there like sand le mere. 😁
Sheila, the chalk layer is - or was - part foundation and part defence. Note the land drains under the chalk [5:10, esp. 5:27, 5:36]. It is very close to the site of a recently dismantled waste disposal facility [17:53, 21:25]. There was also a WWII pillbox (ref. RO77) nearby, which too had to be removed.
Thank you for braving the cold, I noticed the sea does clean up any loose material fallen very quickly on that part, showing that the erosion is very active on this soft cliffs. Happy new year to both of you for 2025, keep them coming .❤
My parents had a caravan on sand le mer in the 90’s. We spent many happy times walking to the beach through the boatyard , which is now gone. The little shop was there and the telescope and the amusements and club. It’s a little heart breaking to see how it is now but there was lumps of that orange ‘clay’ on the beach way back then, erosion is going to do its thing isn’t it? I watched your Hornsea video and will catch up with the others. Really interesting seeing this one as we used to walk along the cliff top into Withernsea then back along the beach. 🙂
Well you can’t beat a good game of wave dodging especially as wing commander was enjoying it herself lol. Great footage as usual mate and the comparison is Amazing. Happy new year to you both I hope you both have a wonderful year 🥂🍾 can’t wait to see what you’ve got installed for us next 👏👏👏👍
@@timothystravels8492 The 'seventh wave' rule may be dismissed as a myth but I find myself half-consciously counting, all the same. Mostly it works. Occasionally not!
Thats shoking! Tunstall uesd to be one of my favourite winter fishining spots for codling, its unrecongisable now haven't been their for 20 years due to illness and old age.
Good idea landing Arthur in your hand. All that salty sand would be bad. When I was a kid I took my RC car on the beach it and corroded and sand grinding in all the moving parts. Is the date correct on your title?
@@timothystravels8492 I think Tony is maybe referring to the '2024' in the title. Appreciated how the two of you braved the bitter cold (and did some 'bay hopping') to produce a valuable update. You have a knack for picking out features - cliff and beach - of particular interest, at least to this TT follower.
@brianwilliams9920 I have now corrected the date...thank you for pointing that out. We point out things of interest and you tell us what they are 😊 Teamwork!! 😁

And it was lovely to meet you too. 😁
Loving these comparison videos. Great to see your channel growing so well deserved. Great work!
Thank you so much, it has been a wonderful journey so far 😊

Brilliant loved the early morning stroll with you from the comfort of my home, thanks x
Delighted you enjoyed it...I've about thawed out now 😅
Early nosy for you and Timothy. Interesting chalk layer in the strata. Nice to see the sun. Well done on braving the cold.
It was an early one...and super cold 🥶
We always feel accomplished when we get home.
Thank you Sheila 😊

You're welcome, the beach did look rather tidy 🤔
Very gnarly those cliffs up close 😬

Love your commitment Davy. Looks really cold. Looking forward to warmer weather.
Cheers Mooster, us too. 🥵🥶

It was strange walking where a road was just a few years earlier. 🙄
Oh and The Concrete Block were on the Cliff Top then.
Crikey!! A lot has happened in a short space in time 😬
Is the clubhouuse and pool still there ?I used to rent a caravan about 18years ago.😢
Yes....just 😬

Is the date correct on your title?
2nd January is the date....and yes, hand launching and catching are vital with sand around. I imagine it wouldn't take many grains to mess things up.
