I gotta say Lovebites is superb in its own right of examplifying what heavy metal really is in a whole. I've turned down requests from friends and family to check other groups out that out of my bluntness and passion of inspiration for music I know I would just make people get hell bent against me. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. This song was specifically written by Midori (blond guitarist) during 2020 to encourage humanity (the guy in the video) to lift ourselves out of the depression through "learning to love yourself, the greatest love of all" and "the reason to be me!" Lyrics by vocalist Asami on Midori's theme, and friend-of-band Mao contributed to the music.

This band leaves everyone speechless or blown away or both. They are phenomenally talented and unlike any other band out there. They have two of the best guitarists, an amazing singer, a strong bass player, and a relentless and amazing drummer. This isn't even their fastest song. They are among the best bands ever. Hi, Thank you for listening to LOVEBITES. First, the origin of their band name. The band name "LOVEBITES" is derived from the song "Love Bites (So Do Eye)" of the American hard rock band "Halestorm". Among their fans, it is also known as the "wolfpack". By the way, although they are Japanese, There are no songs that use Japanese.
How the band was formed. On July 18, 2015, when DESTROSE went into hiatus, miho (Ba), who was in charge of the bass at DESTROSE, invited haruna (Dr), She left DESTROSE before and she started forming a new band. The two listened to the song of asami (Vo) sung on the demo tape of a professional composer, contacted them, and asami joined as the third member. On June 15, 2016, the name of the new band of miho and haruna was announced as "LOVEBITES" and the official website was opened. Miho, the leader and bassist of this band Announced withdrawal from the band on 08.17.2021. Currently the band is temporarily suspended. Her withdrawal is said to be a fatal injury to the band's dissolution, Most expectation is that if they can welcome a new bassist Their activities are expected to resume.

"Wow." That about sums it up. Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
This is one of their more recent releases. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."

Wow! Yes, welcomed to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. These women are extremely talented, skillful and exceptional musicians. Some people say that they are redefining metal or that they are from another planet. They are breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Several of their songs are uplifting, with a powerful and motivational message. They really shine in their live performances, so you will be asked to react to their live videos. They play (mostly) power metal but as real musicians they don’t have any limits. Their main influences are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Angra, Helloween, Judas Priest, Dragonforce, and even Gary Moore, but they have been developing their unique style; their power ballads are amazing.
