cool trip. thanks for letting us join y'all. Palo Duro is on my bucket list, but even from DFW, it's not exactly close. There are some cool cabins(?) in the state park, will amazing views. Bucket list stuff. (well, not Bucket List exactly).
Josh, Josh, Josh I thoroughly enjoyed this video. When I saw 1 hour 22 minutes I thought oh no I’m not going to watch all at once. When I started watching it drew me in and I continued until the end. The scenery was beautiful ! Rocky Mountain Park, wow. What type of camera did you use for filming? I did not know there was a Land Cruiser museum. That vehicle really has a history. Thank you for sharing.
Haha!! Thank you for joining us on the whole trip!! I figured it would be something folks might break up over a few days. Regarding the camera, honestly just my iPhone and a GoPro! Nothing special. :)
Land Cruiser museum was outstanding. That yellow Prado that was used to service patrons of public roads appeared to have 4 Runner engine. Wonder what the proprietors of the museum think about the 2025 version of the Land Cruiser?
Yes! The 1GR-FE V6 has been used in both full size 200-series Land Cruisers and the Prado 150-series around the world. It’s actually still an option in the 300-series Land Cruiser in certain markets, and the Lexus GX even had a “GX400” version in China that used the 1GR-FE instead of the 1UR-FE V8 we got in the 460!
Thanks so much! I watched while I did laundry in Los Angeles! The landscapes were gorgeous, loved the museum! You had me laughing when you saw the new 550, “Yuck, I can feel all the hard plastic from here!”😂😂😂 BTW, the sunglasses are the bomb. All your videos are great! We bought a 2023 GX likes yours only in Lexus Silver a few months ago. Your videos helped me convince the hubby! Thx❤ for that!!! Keep up the great work! Jen
Hi Jennifer! Ahhh you live in my hometown! And congratulations on the new GX! Time to take a nice road trip!! Up the California coast, perhaps? 🤔 (one of my all time favorite drives). Cheers and thanks for coming along!!! ❤️
Yes!!! We enjoyed that too. I’m not sure if I’d want to be there when it’s PACKED with people. Park City hosts the Sundance film festival and is just a madhouse during that period in January too.
Had my popcorn and ice cream for this one.Amazing🎉.I saw motormouth!!😊.They mentioned you once in their channel 2.Amazing car reviewers. What a dream fulfilled if u had a collab.Thanku for making us part of the company ❤
A collab with Motormouth would be so much fun! I talk with Andrea from time to time on instagram but I don’t think she/they know I also make videos. They’re actual professionals who do this “for work”. I’m just here for fun.
Bay bay...The way John was fighting with that French toast to cut it. The scenery was amazing...And the museum, my mouth is watering . Wonder why they created the museum in UT and not TX ...Since Toyota factory is in TX.
Hahaha at the French Toast! And YES! The Land Cruiser heritage museum is actually privately owned by a very very very wealthy guy who loves Land Cruisers. So it’s not at all affiliated with Toyota! Just a very, very, very wealthy enthusiast. 😂
Absolutely loving this series as I take my GX on road trips across the country. I always average 20MPG as I find the faster you go in this car (75+ and preferably 80+) the actual better gas mileage you get for some reason. In NYC idling MPG can go down to 4mpg. After this road trip you’d most likely need an oil change, what’s the interval you’re following for your GX/Toyotas?
Yes that is definitely true on MPG being better on the highway! It’s the same way in town here where if I’m downtown my mpg just drops like a rock. That said, when I’m doing long haul road tripping especially in Texas and the central states where our speed limits are 80-85, I usually do about 90-95 on the wide open road and around the 90 mark my MPG drops from 20 back down to about 17. 😅 As for oil changes, yes! It’s going in again next week (and I also changed my oil back in June). Normally, my rule is every 6 months or 5,000 miles. For us, 6 months always comes first, though. So there can be times when I’ll change my oil every 6 months but in that time I may have only driven 2,000 miles.
I wanted to see the japanese restaurant! oh well. I have a well used 100 series. Bought a 2008 (200 series) and sold it about 6 mos later. Not the same as my 100. I'd go for an 06,07. Earlier models were a little down on power, and had a horrible MFD (screen) that shorted out, and all the ac controls go through the head unit, so when the unit shorts out, so do your ac controls. Early Priusesis (? Priui, Priuses, whatever) had the same screen, and the same problem. 1 tiny crappy solder joint, deep in the motherboard (?) screws up the entire screen/control unit.
@@joshjamescars we felt the same way.. ut we sat int he LX600 at our dealer and boy it is plush.. materials are premium. I love the 570 but no apple car play makes it hard to convince.
AGREED at CarPlay. And the materials are nice, the V6 is nice to drive too, but I don’t know, it still doesn’t do it for me. 😂 That and the way an LX600 with what I want comes to like $115 or so which is way beyond my means.
I watched this entire Part 2 Roadtrip video in one sitting. You both are so butch . Definitely not the gym bunnies at my gym and the show ponies who workout only to attract pretentious Adonis'. You and John are tried and true work horses. Anyway, I wonder if you both were in Denver when I was there. I had a work trip on 8/14th. I've been to SLC. That outdoor mall you both were at is City Creek Mall. I like that Japanese Chicken Teriyaki place in that Food Court. I've also been to Cherry Creek in Denver. Its a very posh area. Anyway, I can't wait for Part 3. What did you get at Tumi? You need to do an unboxing video when you get home. Safe travels. The Maui Jim sunglasses looks good on you, as too, the Aviators you wore out.. I also have issues finding the right frames. Question? How far away was the Toyota Land Cruiser museum from Downtown SLC? Was there a fee to get in? I guess I could google all this info. EDIT: Whaaaaaat!?!? Home already...LOL. I thought there was a Part 3. I'm sad
Hahaha!! I loved every bit of this comment. Glad you enjoyed, and yes, sadly our amazing trip has come to an end but thank you so much for joining in on the journey!!! Back to regularly scheduled programming now. And no, unfortunately we were in Denver back in mid-July. I didn’t start editing these videos until we got home, so they went out about a month after we actually were on the road!
this was such a fulfilling watch
I’m so glad you enjoyed, thank you for watching!!
All the cute Mormons in the pool😂 would love some merch..your trip was stunning guys😊
Haha! Thank you for coming along! Glad you enjoyed! 😂❤️

John calves tho.... im jealous .
Denver was amazing, nothing wrong staying in bed at 9 pm...I can relate.
The glasses look good on you.
Haha thank you!!

I've stayed in Vail and Beaver Creek both in the summer and winter love both. I love how quiet it is in the summertime. Wow! Park City is beautiful!

Definitely do mire of these! Looks like it was an awesome vacation!
I will! It was so much fun doing a video not primarily about cars. Will definitely bring you all along on future adventures!
Absolutely speechless! So many things to comment about! 🤯Thanks for taking us along! 😎

It was about 2 and a half calendar weeks. Not sure how many days, exactly. 😅 And I’m so glad you enjoyed!!!!

The engines are inside or they take them out?

I was in Kyoto and went to the Toyota Museum there and it was spectacular!
I have heard that!!! Next time I get to Japan I have to go to Toyota City and bring y’all along.
👍
Time for the LX600 for the next road trip?
Haha! I like the LX but since we’re just two people I don’t need the size, and I love my V8 so if I were to get an LX it would have to be the 570! ;)

Yes not cheap. Thank you for your video on the replacement parts for the GX. We ordered them. Big enhancement. Still awaiting the gear shifter.
ummm....all those Land cruiser model trucks is fucking incredible!
