actually, chaeyoung is a pretty strong rapper! i feel like she has a lot more talent than what she can display on twice and is more than a "designated" type of rapper. that's part of why i loved likey so much
its too sassy for Twice though which is why she gets less lines. thats why she gets lines in the end of songs to strength the sound even though shes a more main vocalist like Naeyeon

Despite being upset that DubChaeng didnt get to shine in HS like in Likey, music wise the interjection of rap was really amazing and it fits well with the lyrics like you have the slow verse "the time is now, our eyes are meeting but Idk what to do" and then an excited DubChaeng going like "go for it! Love is timing!" Its like the mirroring of the outfits with white vs colourful. Chaeyoung is more of a rapper because she writes her own lyrics and is quite talented imo but there's definitely no space for any other rap in a song like Heartshaker and that's totally fine! I also agreed that behind the happy cheerful chorus, there was a kind of really emotional sadness, especially doing the last chorus with Jihyo doing adlibs at the end. I LOVE THIS SONG! I mean yes you're right that it is not as well produced than the Likey MV but what I like about this is that the song has a very fresh/innocent feel to it and that it has a story as well. likey's highlight part is "Likey" this short melody include unlimit positive and bright feeling and apealing saddness a little bit at the same time. heart shaker's highlight is "shaker" vocal sound has appealing trembling. so it also has bright side and vague a little bit at the same time.

Have you checked out the album? When you mentioned "yearing, angst, etc." I immediately thought of Love Line. It's the standard love song but imo it's their most mature song to date. Also a bonus, it was written by Jeongyeon.

as a ONCE i feel slightly offended by the fact that you said Chaeyoung and Dahyun are obligatory rappers of the group and while Dahyun's rapping is obviously not as good as Chaeyoung's, but Chaeyoung is literally the next Yubin and she's so good???? She writes AMAZING lyrics and her flow is amazing. I'd suggest you check out TWICE's sidetracks such as Precious Love where she is actually given time to spit fire but still I won't deny that Heartshaker isn't that kind of song where a rap breakdown would fit in
