Came here from your smoke alarm malfunction short. Try an ionizing type alarm. VOCs from your paints/adhesives may create film residue and build up, and possibly foul your detector. Do a white glove test on the inside of your windows to see the levels of buildup inside your house. This simple test could confirm my theory.

Great suggestion, we actually have a few air doctors in the house to help with VOCs and even our mattress is VOC free, but i guess that could easily be the culprit!

Really looking forward to seeing the different parts come together! I'm actually really interested in how the ceiling attachments will work out since I was considering something similar in the future if I did a tiny house.

It so beautiful❤ if you dont mind if I ask what software did you use to 3D model it and how much did all the supplies cost. The prices in our area even in the bad part of town are getting almost to half mil and at these crazy prices me and wife would just like to buy land and build a tiny house for our family

Thank you! The software was just the trial version of google sketchup, and i just taught myself how to use it. The whole tiny home upon completion will be $70,000 CAD or $50,000 US. Here in this part of canada you cant find a livable home for less than half a million so i hear ya! You should do it!

Great idea 💡. Love the skylight's as well. The bedroom need's one 😊. I would love one. Too old to build. Can't wait to see the final 🙌

Thanks so much! We agree, it could use a skylight but it’s already sooo bright in there with the windows! Excited to share the final when we’re closer

I love it, particularly the beautifully separate bedrooms. That is something missing from my immobile tiny home construction.

I have had the same issue. Turns out it was baby cockroaches or spiders or spider web or ants.
Around spring there would be more bugs making babys and things like baby cockroaches would get in and trigger the photosensitive sensor.
I used gap filler wherever i could in the ceiling and sprey surface bug sprey around the smoke detectors and it stopped it.
Just need to freshen up the bug sprey every 3-6 months.

Have you every thought of doing like they do on the big RV 's that have the side panels they go out sideways, you could instead go up and down. Lift it up or down by machine instead of lifting off. Also what do you do with the sections you remove? Do you put them in a container to transport? How do you do to protect the inside?

Could be bugs getting in and triggering it. Try surface bug sprey around it. Or double sided tape around it.

I'd do a lift off, but instead of two different segments I'd do the whole roof so that I had one consistent roof line throughout (like an open gable or a box gable style)

That's a cool design? Would you have to have a crane to lift off the top sections? I'm half way through building a tiny house in northern Ontario. It's not mobile though, it's build and bolted right to a rise of bedrock on the land.

Thanks! Yes we would have to hire one to lift it off but it would be a one time thing as we don’t plan on moving the building much, if ever. Congrats on your build! Were also in ontario - where are you at?

I knowest you have a new dog. What ever happened to Bella? I just came across your videos today and have been watching most of them. So I probably missed it. Love your new dog, but I was wondering about the other one. Hopefully, she is doing well.

Unfortunetly Bella passed last year, she was in her old age and went peacefully, she enjoyed all the adventures we went on and was there long enough to teach Sadie everything she knows! Thanks so much for asking!

Is there any air flow to that area that could possibly send type of soot like particles.

Yeah it’s weird there isnt a wood stove installed yet and the stove/oven wasnt even in at that time. Plus the gas line wasnt connected to the house, it’s very odd
