As someone who lives in California I can say you were smart to stay where you did. There is nothing you want less than meeting up with someone in the middle of the night because they are up to no good. Remember, man is the deadliest animal. Back home at least you are packing. Rose I know I’m a bit late but it could be the demon car. It’s said if your in a car it will tale gate you and try and get your to pull over , and if it fails it will simply turn on its lights a disappear seemingly vanishing.
There’s a legend of the phantom car 🚗 that appears and disappears. Lights on and off very similar to this wild they actually caught that on video.

You guys should go to the Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary is located at the Alcatraz Island 1.25 miles off the coast of San Francisco, California!! It’s know to be haunted.. I appreciate everything you guys do 😊 much love ❤️

In San Diego more scary/haunted roads for you: Cara way, Harmony Grove, Elfin Forest, OMG so many more can't think of all the Road names... But I know Cara (Knott) way is super haunted and the highway 67 is many people witness UFO'S and bigfoot sightings, iron mountain is a huge hiking area and many miner's died their, but the # of deaths on highway 67 have to be in 100's the drop down into lakeside/el cajon is so steep and curves people don't slow down and the construction on the road was ongoing for 20 or more years!

I've been on the 67 at night a bunch of times and I've only seen a strange aircraft once. Nothing else of note. Haven't seen anything in the other locations either at night. I have seen sketchy stuff at San Pasqual battlefield and in Mission Trails. Mission Trails and the back end of Tierrasanta definitely have some scary stuff.

I read something online and it said that there have been people that have seen car headlights behind them when they are walking or driving down that same dirt road and when they go towards where they seen the headlights at... there's no car behind the headlights, just pitch black darkness. So i'm thinking that's just what happened to you guys.

2 men with flashlights, wearing hoodies on a dark haunted road in the middle of the night. Yeah, anyone driving through there will be scared. James, Omar and anyone in the car is basically thinking and feeling the same thing. Huge fan, Great vids!
Crazy I live 5 - 10 min away in the neighborhood called Eastlake by this area. Been down that road during daytime def not at night time. About 10 min away there's a lake called otay lakes and all around that lake the road have been numerous deaths expecially the death of 2 little girls by a dam I call the graffiti dam. Anyway cool video!
Edit haven't see whole video but to confirm your suspicion the car with the headlights could have been border patrol or some kids messing with you.

I feel like these guys in the cars may have been organizing some kind of drug deal or swap of some kind, the way they flashed their lights at you is pretty common in those sorts of things, and when you guys didn't flash your lights back or approach them they got spooked and maybe got tf out... just a theory... and ik anyone smart wouldn't organize a deal like that in the middle of nowhere, but who knows, could've just been amateurs or a REALLY big deal
