The real quote that Marcus Aurelius order to remember to him is: "Memento mori" That literally translate in "Remember that you will die", but yes the meaning is that, you can be the most successful man in the world but in the end you will die, no matter what, because you're a man, you're imperfect, you're mortal, so don't bite off more than you can chew and remember that you can lose everything in a blink of an eye.
