    For me the easiest answer is one of each. I've got a 430 race edition and a 300 race edition. Couldn't be happier.

      @@mmaaddict78 I've been doing hard enduro terrain on my 22 kx250x. The stock suspension is phenomenal. It gets hot so you have to keep moving and I have a fan. I may stay with 4 strokes. Its making me a better rider.

    To add to the tire balls incident I've seen two mousse rear tire failures in our local XC series. It's crazy when they fail tire and mousse all up in the swingarm.

    I’m with you all on the kicker. Got to have one. It seems the battery starts acting up when you’re in the middle of nowhere and without a kicker you’re screwed. On the vibes, my 4T is much smoother than the older 300 2Ts I had. Those were older KTMs and vibes riding those were like riding a chain saw. I’d really like to try a new counter balanced 2T.

      The kicker doesn't even work on a dead battery on newer fuel injected bikes. Gotta have 12v to run the fuel pump and injectors. It looks cool though, but it adds a lot of weight for little to no real benefit

    The fuel consumption thing is a big deal. My TPI 300xc gets double the MPG of my carb'd 250sx, same trails and pace...and no, the 250 is not running rich. That's a big deal for long trail rides, hare scrambles, etc.I hope Beta is developing their own version of TBI...i'd love to pick up a Beta 2 stroke but i will not go back to carbs.

    As beta 4strokes can run for hundred hours, my calculation could be be wrong but at the end, I found it would be rather same rebuild compared to 2strokes strokes more often changed pistons, cylinders, and some bearings . I don't speak about fast and furious use. People are afraid of 4s because of the valve /engine timing distribution , but it's easy to do and all top / middle engine can be fast rebuilt or checked . Rather same oil cost comparing two stroke oil with 4strokes flush for same use. Maybe the real decision is about the sound( well let's talk about music ;) ) each makes... ;)

    • @OtisFlint
      @OtisFlint Рік тому +2

      300 2 strokes in the woods can go 120ish hours on a piston comfortably. 4 Strokes have their advantages, but maintenance cost is not one of them

    • @babar69110
      @babar69110 9 місяців тому +1

      depends on bikes. beta 4s goes for hundreds and hundreds hours and if you rebuild it yourself, it is peanuts compared to all fuel cost spent. Miscalculation all times, guys need to put real costs in a excel sheet. they would be surprise ;) But IMHO the real difference is gravity center.... 4S (and beta especially) have high gravity center, this, with gyro effect and engine inertia, is the real pain in the ass on technical parts. Never mentionned, until you have to lift it a 117 kg 390rr which feels like a 160 kg bike...

      @marekonbike9291 4 місяці тому

      @@babar69110agree with that, just compared mine 390rr to friends 300rr and his feels like mountain bike. Also tried leaning (static) compared to crf300l and even though the Honda is 160kg... beta (390rr) was more top heavy, boomer

    A little off topic, but I just got a 390 RE after 10 years on a Ktm 300XC. Mainly race A class enduros and some hare scrambles. Loving the motor, fun change, my question is what are you guys doing for suspension tuning? I’m very familiar with WP and know where to go for help, not so much Sachs. Are you guys using beta suspension shop or have you found other options you like?

      Good Morning, thanks for checking out our videos and welcome to the Beta bikes! Other than servicing the forks and changing springs for the customers weight I recommend sending the suspension to the Beta USA suspension department. They have a really awesome in house program! Check it out on their website. Enjoy the ride, Jared

    Would a beta 200 be to small for a trail rider that weighs 300lbs? Decent experience level rider.

      Good Morning, my recommendation would be to head to the next Beta demo day and try each model! You might be surprised! My suggestion would most likely be a 300 as they have so much bottom end torque that it would be very enjoyable on the trails! Enjoy the ride, Jared

    Is it hard to learn to ride over rocks and logs etc.?

    • @dalepellerin
      @dalepellerin 11 місяців тому +1

      I had never even sat on any motorcycle as of February 23rd of this year and it's now August 2nd and I just rode some really gnarly rocky 4x4 trails at TinCup Pass, offroad trails near Hagerman Pass and up at Seep Springs, all in Colorado. I haven't really tried logs yet but I've really taken to rocks and technical sections (and I'm an idiot 50+ year old who never had been on a bike other than a mountain bike). Thus, if I can get somewhat good at it, anyone can.

    How often do ya do em on the 2 strokes these days ?

    • @3SeasRecreation

      It is up to the rider, a 4 stroke can go well over 100 hours and I would probably do a 2 stroke that is raced around 50 hours. Enjoy the ride, Jared
