Really you find looking behind you not a problem. for me it's basically neck breaking time so stopped using it in FS due to not having settings allowing me to adjust the angles of rotation.
Great bit of kit! I love mine too, helps at Junctions, swinging a cab around when in an Excavator / Forestry Machine feels so natural too and brilliant not having to use sticks / mouse to look around
Thanks for sharing this; I know what I will order next payday! I'll be sure to use the link you provided. 😉 So happy to see you getting partnerships/sponsors like this. Hope it's a sign of more to come!
I'm happy to hear it helps enhance your game play. I agree it does work a lot better with flight sim or even truck sim, hopefully Giants will be updating their approach to integrating eye tracking into FS as it is becoming increasingly popular.
Looks like a nice, non intrusive bit of kit, but £270 is a big ask for a bit of immersion these days. Can I ask? Some of the footage looked a little laggy. The fps was dropping down from 120 to about 90 in some of the clips. Did it still feel smooth?
I also own one, but as some wrote, there was a problem when I was going to reverse, etc. So it has not been used for about a year. But let's hope they get it sorted, because it's really nice not to have the clip for track ir. But it was a good video and good of Tobi to send one 😀👍🏻
Nice video. But why is it not working on my pc in fs22? I have set the eye tracking to 'On' but nothing happens. Untill I saw a video where they use 'open track' Now it works. But should'nt it work without the open track? With open track the Tobii is nothing more then a camera, right? I hope you have a solution for me. Greetings from Holland. Tonny
Scroft, another thought, the Tobii doesn't work with the realistic Cab View Mod that you use so well in the Farmhand Series (Just got to Feb in it). I wonder if you could use your sway to get that remedied somehow?
Thanks for letting me know I haven't tried it with the realistic cab view yet. Maybe we could reach out to the Mod Author and see if it can be integrated?
In other games they are settings that you can adjust for how much it moves when you turn your head. so you can have it set if you turn head 20 degrees it will actually view 180 degrees so you can still see it on monitor... HOWEVER word of warning.. Giants have done a CRAP job implementing this and it currently has no settings in game that allows you to change... So at the moment I wouldn't recommend it for FS as it will break your neck trying to look behind. Other games like ETS/ATS or Elite dangerous it's Great for as they have options in the game.
It is currently only PC but if you have a look online there is some news on making it compatible with consoles, however I'm not sure on how successful that will be
Always been interested I one of these but heard mixed reviews on how they work with people wearing glasses? Anyone on here used this with a pair of glasses?
Yep, it works just fine for me with glasses. but I suspect if you have things like tinted glass or maybe very small frames the frame might get in the way, but I personally have no issues with mine.
@@paulknowles2167 No problem, glad it helped. though if you only play FS22, then you might want to check out some of my comments about how poor giants have implemented it into FS... but other games ETS/Elite Dangerous etc. it's a great piece of kit.
As Harag has said it works with glasses but might run into some issues if they are tinted just because it is obstructing the view of the of your eyes! As for Giants I would expect them to be updating their features to better help integrate eye tracking as it is becoming more popular and other games have a much better integration with their systems.
@@Scroft I am not holding my breath. I have complained about the lack of integration that Giants have provided but it falls on deaf ears. As mentioned for ETS and Elite Dangerous it works great. Also MSFS2020 has implemented it very well. At the very least you should be able to program a button to reset your view and another to turn tracking off or on allowing standard views or head tracking. Tobii provide the API so that game manufacturers can integrate it into their software possibly not the best idea as it is then up to the game developer to decide how good or bad it's implemented. TrackIR and similar setups do it differently and give the user/player access to all the settings. Tobii do something similar in a way. They have a list of supported games, these are the ones that have developers have integrated into their game. For games that have not bothered but still have head tracking such as TrackIR then Tobii gives access to these via a piece of software called Tobii Game Hub. help.tobii.com/hc/en-us/articles/209525589-Getting-started-with-Tobii-Game-Hub If this could be used with FS22 then it would solve a lot of problems I believe. However because Giants have integrated it in a fashion then it's not available going through the Tobii Game Hub. My Tobii5 goes through a switchable USB port and is on for all other games but turned off for FS22.
The actual device is great and worth the money, love using it with euro truck simulator... HOWEVER for FS22 there is a problem and the problem is that FS22 does NOT have settings in the game to allow you to change, to it's very limiting, In FS22 because you can't change the settings you can't actually look behind you for reversing as it simply doesn't move enough. I would highly recommend the device for Euro Truck sim / Elite dangerous, but NOT for FS22 (or FS19). Other issue i find is eye tracking when you glance down at the map in the corner the whole screen moves, it's very distracting on FS. I would turn the eye tracking off and just leave head tracking on, BUT the game does NOT have these sort of settings... very poor implementation by giants. It's a pity Scroft didn't look behind him to reverse... then he would have notice the problem, it's neck breaking in this game
Thanks for your feedback, it will help people a lot. I will be sure to do some more testing with it. Hears hoping Giants implement it much better in the next game to match the standard of other games, that have better settings.

@@shaunbingham3667 You're welcome, I've been wanting to ask this question for quite a while now. But there hasn't been a platform in which to ask, and as Scroft did such a good job in showing how it works, I took the opportunity to ask, and I'm glad I did. I always thought that these things wouldn't work for me.
Giants really needs to update their settings for this. It’s too hard to look behind you which is pretty often in first person. Love mine for ATS/ETS2. Tobii made a pretty incredible device.
100% agree, I use mine for ETS2 and Elite dangerous, but for FS19 & 22, it's neck breaking to look behind you, it just doesn't do it with the built in settings that the user can't even change. So I never use it for FS now. :(
As good as it looks the price made my eyes water, its more expensive than my heavy truck and machinery wheel/pedals and side panel that I feel gives even more immersion, I use a mod that does something similar, when you start to turn the wheel it swings your view to various amounts depending on your settings, select reverse and you automatically look backwards and was free, Had it been the price of a good mouse or even a cheap wheel I might be tempted but for now I think I'll pass on it, sorry.
It is currently only PC but if you have a look online there is some news on making it compatible with consoles, however I'm not sure on how successful that will be.
Absolutely love mine, makes pulling out of junctions easier, as well as spinning round to check on implements whilst working in the field

Glad to hear you're enjoying it Broduerguy!
@@Scroft Maybe a little
Thanks for the review Scroft it is much appreciated. A little out of my price range at the moment but a seriously clever piece of kit!
Nice review but you didn't look behind the tractor, like when hooking up to a trailer or checking your cultivator/plow. Does it do that?

ALMOST got a look at your face there for a few seconds lol! Thanks for the review!
Unlucky 🥲 I will pay for you're eye test as compensation!
I have the Track IR, but I only used it for Truck Sim. Still, this would be better than having to go find a hat to clip the thing to.

Is this only for pc or can you use on Xbox?

I use the TrackIR5 and it looks this one you use is a lot slower reacting,
nice video ofcourse
does it have to be on the bottom of your monitor or can it go on top part of a monitor?
Will this work on ps4 that what i play on and make role-play videos and think it would be ideal
Only thing sucks about tobi tracker is the viewers who get motion sickness
Can you lean or move forward and back and have an impact on the camera? I know that with TrackIR, if you lean left or right the camera follows nicely.
If the game supports 6dof then yes. it depends on the game. unfortunately sf22 does not.
Not on farm SIM yet. But it does on Microsoft flight simulator
