Great videos! Im starting to set up my X7 that came friday. I hooked my 22ma to my network easily today after following your other video. I have attempted to calibrate the tool setter and getting an alarm. macro 137 invalid max . I will make a riser for the tool setter tomorrow and take another look at it. thank you again for your content it has been an invaluable source of information.

Hello Your videos are very helpful. In the comment below you said that the firmware update will be released by Syntec. Is that Syntec USA or the manufacturer - Syntec China?
John, sorry I really have no idea. I’m not affiliated with then in anyway.
@@MaDuceRules China advised me to speak with Syil US. Does not seem to be much customer focus.
@@johnspathonis1078 I’m not sure it really matters where it’s coming from once it’s released? I do believe it’s Syntec USA that’s working on this. I only say that because that’s where this pre-released version came from to make the video. However that’s just a guess.
John, the update is from Syntec USA. But it is possible it could be available to users around the world
what botton did you press to go the the new tool setter screen?
On the right side menu press the "WCS/Tool" button (Third button for the top) then on the bottom menu press the "Tool Setter" button (Third button from the right side).
Great walk thru, were these screens ever released? Did they come from Syil or Syntec?
The tool setter screens have been released and come installed on new machines. Contact Syil for the update.

@@MaDuceRules I got the screens and I can do tool length! Can’t do diameter though. It acts like it thinks the disc is smaller than it is is that size set somewhere? Also it’s a bummer but the tool change screen doesn’t work.
what parameter did you change to disable the door lock? I have to press F4 way too many times, it is getting annoying
I dont have the door lock disabled. I would shurley open the door with the flood coolant on if it was the case. What I have enabled is parameter 3408 which unlocks the door on M30 or end of program.
Hi, my Syil X7 (incl Syntec 22ma) finally arrived, and I am confused about tools. I had though that if the red LED display for spindle showed a number (let's say '2') then the machine consider what's in the spindle to be tool 2. But in your config process you set up tool 96 (which obviously doesn't relate to a 12 position carousel), so is that just a special thing for the config process only? Or is there some screen that maps between carousel spot and tool? What's the difference between 'T' and 'H'? thanks very much
I’m just using that location to store the height of the 3d taster. My touch probe is stored in 94. You need those heights values to set Z. When I probe a Z height the probing routine looks at H94 to calculate the Z zero. Also there is a patch available to assign any tool number to any pocket on the carousel.
I'm confused by the tool setter....does running the tool while calibrating not destroy the setter?
It runs counter clockwise so the cutting edge doesn’t hurt the ceramic disc. Also it’s one of the most accurate way to set tool height because it will include any runout in the tool and holder.
Gday, Mark from Australia here. Who do I contact about getting the screen update?
It has not been released yet by Syntec. My understanding is they are making final tweaks on it. Once it’s ready it will be released to everyone. I have no idea on timing.

2 years later and the update was never released...
The update started shipping on all new X7’s about two weeks after this video was posted.
@@MaDuceRules ok, but it was never released as an update for already sold X7 with the same configuration (I know I had one...)
@@DgtlCnsltng you had to contact Syil and give them your serial number to see if your machine was compatible. If it was they would send you the update. Agreed it was not a great proses.
