Just watched this veido, and l am quite new following you folks. In Maine when you are waiting for the bus, traffic will slow down, getting ready for you to cross the road. I learned to turn my back to traffic, and keep my eye out for the city bus. IT IS THE CITY BUS THAT WON'T STOP FOR YOU. GO FIGURE! LOVE YOU THREE, MR. & MRS. AND KITTY MAKES THREE!
Have a blessed time! The courtesy exercised there at anticipating you might cross is an awesome thing! I grew up in the the East Coast and though it is in fact law that I may use a crosswalk freely, I did so with some trepidation & caution as sometimes there were slight delays in drivers response time when I entered the crosswalk. Here in Western PA pedestrians expect and receive that anticipated courtesy you speak of in CA. And drivers are respectful of pedestrians crossing or on the sides readying to cross. A pleasant surprise on our move here.
We have a boarding kennel here. The people are AWESOME!! They treat fur babies like two legged babies 😊 I'm sure he'll make some fur friends. It's WAY better than being alone and someone dropping in for just a while. We actually have a doggie daycare here. It's so cute! They do fun stuff with the furs all day. Dressing them up, etc...😁

We in the UK have to pay for our bags from every supermarket now. It wasn't always like that. We still forget our bags though now and again more now than again. xxx
To bad to had to make a comment about pedestrians and BAG RECYCLING!. As a CDL driver, as you may be I see (IN CALIFORNIA) pedestrians dodging traffic all the time! I have Dash Cam that recorded it! And NO the police are't interested until someone gets hurt. As for recycling in California. I was a leader in Boy Scouts when my son was a member. We worked on the ADOPT--A-HIGHWAY program to help keep our roads and Highways clean. Once a month we went out on our assigned road to clean the up the trash from the road. We found tires, needles, (the most scary part) even stoves, refrigerators, mattresses, electronic gear, ect. And they are worried about BAGS! Anyway, hope enjoy your trip. And I love your videos!

Yay! Leo is on vacation too! Whenever we would have to leave our kitty we would take her to the her vet where she was considered a "rock star"! Oh, how they loved her, she has the feline version of cerebal palsy, she is very content and happy and fat and sassy! In Wa. State many counties are charging a nickle a bag. Before they started charging I always took my own bags anyway! I highly resent the government charging me to be responsible! You two are so cute, hope you're really enjoying yourselves.

Yes, regarding the plastic bags not being given out free in CA anymore - that was the reason, people threw them everywhere, or they would get loose and blow away with a strongs wings that always come up. I was living there when they made them illegal in Los Angeles, County, CA - I was very happy that they did that, and because of Trader Joe's, I had been bringing my own bags to shop for about 2 years before. I love doing that - I live now in VA, and I do that regularly (I have had to explain why I do this - and gladly tell people why I BYOB's). I get a few bags from time to time to have for trash can liners. Traders still has the contest when you BYOB(ag) you can fill out a ticket to win $25 in grocerys from the store. I haven't won yet , but you never know - soon!!! G-d bless y'all!

Lol, the pedestrian comments made me laugh! I live in the Midwest and we do the same thing with pedestrians. It's not like we're going to run them down, but we're not going to stop until we're sure they're going to walk. I got what you were saying. :o) Thanks for letting us know about Leo. I've left for a week or so and left my cats home alone, but there are three of them (so they keep each other company). If they have enough food, water, and litter, they do fine. I'm not sure a single cat would do that well by itself, though. Glad he's being watched.

Here in Oregon at a smaller employee owned chain, you may have heard of it, called Winco, they actually pay you 6 cents for every bag you bring, now that's service, LOL. Back in the day at Winco, you would go in and grab one of many black pens that were more like wax at the tip, pretty thick, and you would actually mark your own prices on items, directed by the store of course, because it was and is a warehouse type environment. You do have to bag your own groceries though and no store employee takes them out for you, but that's fine with me. No more pens now though, lol. Thanks for video.
I live in Northern California and we have to buy bags too. Yes I get why, but it's still a pain! Especially when I forget to bring bags and the store is OUT of bags! Has happened to us several times. Not fun! lol

I came out of Burger King today and a man in a car came flying around the building. he wasnt seeable in the parking lot. he just about he me, he slammed on his breaks as I was almost to my car. around here people are rude will try & hit it,jump out infront of you. They wait until the car is at the corner and then they step out. It happened to me a few days ago. I didn't hit them cuz I'm always watching for them. People tag team in 2 separate cars and set people up to hit one of the cars. It's all BIG money in California. They especially look for seniors. Just be careful.

I very rarely cross it an intersection, even with a crosswalk. Way too dangerous. Too many cars coming from too many different directions. J walking is much safer!
In the country or very rural area where you may live, but in a busy suburb, or city it is not safe to "J" walk at all. What really upsets me is to see a mother with two tiny toddlers or small children (and I see that a lot here in our towns) "J" walk when there is a crosswalk at a light just a few feet up from where she is trying to cross! What is she teaching her children! We were not allowed to do that when we were kids. We crossed at all crosswalks at lighted intersections. On a residential street we had to look carefully both ways. WOW, I am surprised at the people here and what they do it is very dangerous.
