- As I travel, I run into some very talented street musicians that also just happen to be homeless. The one I will never forget is meeting Zaq and a group of homeless youth one Thanksgiving in Hollywood. I gave them socks and they sang me a song. • TALENTED Homeless Yout...
Today I was walking around San Diego handing out socks and meeting new homeless friends when I just happened to meet Glen Pops Freeman. Glen was so nice and very talented, and wise.
Glen lived in Seattle for the last 40 years. He originally from San Diego and decided to head south. Glen wanted to see his old home town again and get out of Seattle during the winter.
Glen earns his way as a street musician. He says his music is a combination of reggae, calypso, and Motown. I really am glad Glen decided to sing to us.
"Doing anything is better than nothing" is one of the nuggets of wisdom Glen shared in this interview. It also is not just about homelessness or homeless people. We all need a purpose. We all need a reason to get up in the morning.

About Invisible People:
Since its launch in November 2008, Invisible People has leveraged the power of video and the massive reach of social media to share the compelling, gritty, and unfiltered stories of homeless people from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. The vlog (video blog) gets up close and personal with veterans, mothers, children, layoff victims and others who have been forced onto the streets by a variety of circumstances. Each week, they’re on InvisiblePeople.tv, and high traffic sites such as UA-cam, Twitter and Facebook, proving to a global audience that while they may often be ignored, they are far from invisible.
Invisible People goes beyond the rhetoric, statistics, political debates, and limitations of social services to examine poverty in America via a medium that audiences of all ages can understand, and can’t ignore. The vlog puts into context one of our nation’s most troubling and prevalent issues through personal stories captured by the lens of Mark Horvath - its founder - and brings into focus the pain, hardship and hopelessness that millions face each day. One story at a time, videos posted on InvisiblePeople.tv shatter the stereotypes of America’s homeless, force shifts in perception and deliver a call to action that is being answered by national brands, nonprofit organizations and everyday citizens now committed to opening their eyes and their hearts to those too often forgotten.
Invisible People is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the way we think about people experiencing homelessness.
If angels walk among us I think I may have just seen one.

❤❤❤
I am here,, almsot homeless email me blindam25@yahoo.com SHALOM/ASHE
Someone make a CD for him
👍😁🌴🌞🙏💜 righteous man
A CD? Are you from the 90's? And after that? MySpace...
or make a cassette :P
Seeing this old man homeless breaks my heart 💔😔
@John Donne Show that is so sad 😔
@John Donne Show It's always been a matter of priorities in this country. The Politicians never look out for the homeless because they don't have a voting presence. I have always been a huge fan of spending more taxpayer dollars to house the homeless. A society is ALWAYS judged on how it treats it's homeless population.
@John Donne Show welcome to cali
Princess Tatyanna if he was younger you’d help him so you could try to trap him with a baby
Thank you for being there for some of these homeless people. It’s a shame that people look at them like if they were worthless. And a great shout out to Amanda
The reason why people look at homeless people like they are worthless because they don't believe that they could just as easily end up homeless themselves.
@@PrincessTatyanna Spot on with your comment as always
I feel so good when I see people like him
Glen seems to be a nice older gentleman. God Bless. him. I liked his music. Too bad he does not have a tiny home to live in. And find his daughter
He abandoned his children in Seattle when they were young and needed a father the most. I know. I'm the mother of one of those children.
@@gmainseattle4571 Sorry he abandoned his children. Thanks for reply
IMO the most touching moment of this interview is the pause (5:05) that Glen takes as he ponders his answer to a question. His humanity, in all its authenticity, beams through at that moment... not to even mention the beauty of his response. Play on, Glen! Thank you for your existence.
This guy was a extra in a movie called fat kid rules the word they even had his name in the credits didn't know he was homeless
Doubt it
@@stevenrose8321 here you go. His music at least was, so wouldn't be surprised if he actually performed it in the movie as well.

This is a smart, talented, and Beautiful man! Love everything he had to say and loved his music, too!
He is an extraordinary musician! I hope a talent coach spots him here! 😊
Unless you've got many followers online, you won't be thrown a bone by a talent coach
What a beautiful soul he has shining through!!! God's Blessings be upon him!!
I met this guy in San Diego, last weekend :) He told me the exact same words... and sung me the same song. Well, this may be a script of his, but the guy was super nice.
Who ever dislike this need to be a shame of their self
What a beautiful man. So kind and he has such a positive outlook after everything he's been through. Also very talented. God Bless you, Glen 💜
Why isn't this channel getting millions of views
What a wise and talented man. Thank you for sharing
This guy is great! I definitely agree that people should find a way to offer a service or talent, and not just beg. God bless!
Not everyone has a talent. Plus, we talked about this after and wish I had recorded it, homelessness is hard. It eats away your spirit. Many people don’t think clearly when they are in survival mode.
This man is talented. And seems so smart. So very sad. He should not be homeless. 😔 NO ONE should be homeless in America!! Wish I could help all of them.
Then try out volunteer work. When I get older (I'm 14 rn) that's what I'd rather do than get a job.
Totally_ Galaxy4 and what money are you going to live on? 🤔
What a beautiful soul
I really like his positive attitude towards life. Hope he finds his daughter. I'm from Brazil and we have a huge problem with thousands of homeless people. I have a group and we give them food in Christmas time, chocolate in Easter and motivational sentences, but above all we talk to them, so that they can be seen, they can feel they are not invisible. Congratulations in helping make them believe they are not invisible
Look at the incredible soul in his face. What an amazing man.
Thank you for the wishes you left us with💖💞
What an interesting guy . I hope he finds his daughter soon .
Bless this man, and his willingness to share his music, knowledge, and pieces of his soul. May his wishes come true, indeed! 💕🙏💕
what a precious soul. God bless. 🙏
one of my favorite videos so far.... very talented and intelligent gentleman for sure.
Glen Pops Freeman is wise and very talented. Hoping the best for this good man.
Awesome video🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful voice
Had the honor of running into this man the other night in seattle. Watching and hearing him play put a really big smile on my face. I hope to run into him again in the near future.
Can't help but love that guy.
Despite every hardship he still smiles and he is able to be positive and motivating others. Truly inspiring..
“As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.” Psalms 109:17 I see this fulfilled in his life.
What a beautiful soul.
The wisdom and humanity shines in this mans heart Peace and Joy to him!
what a talent!!
God bless this talented man and I pray he gets into permanent housing
We also hope he finds his daughter too. Maybe she'll see this.
He also writes poetry too! I live in downtown San Diego and know Pops personally. He’s an incredibly talented and genuine person and it always makes my day whenever I get blessed to bump into him and chat for a minute. A truly interesting individual and overall great man.
Best wishes to this man, Amazing stuff
Amazing talent and an amazing man! Grateful to know him!
I just met him yesterday! Back in San Diego. He told me he’s been writing music everyday non-stop for 3 years!
Talent goodluck mate
He is a homeless but with home in his soul
It is good to watch and support Invisible People. As a fellow singer he has great talent and tone quality. - Bill Higgins. People should stop and enjoy rather than just walk by..
Beautiful talented man. ♥️ someone sign him!
Praying that his daughter shows up in his life very soon. What an amazing person!
God bless
What a great Person... Such a beautiful Kind soul
5:40 "Love is not given softly".... i like that
This is the noblest human being I've ever seen. Sometimes I think what has become of Jules in Pulp Fiction after his revelation. Looking at this man, I think I found the answer.
great singer!
Really nice voice. Pleasant countenance.
Truly enjoyed this man's talent! I'd pay for more songs like this! May God provide for you in Jesus name 💖 really enjoyable musician! Is there anything we can do to help him
We need to advocate for more affordable housing for all homeless people. Although Glen seems to be doing just fine, homelessness is nothing nice.
@@InvisiblePeople thank you for your reply. I'll keep praying and researching so that I could help
Thanks for that beautiful music to
I just think it's a shame the wealthy black don't reach-out and put this elderly brotha in some kind of place.
Richard Duncan We are all one, why the elderly black?
I hope we see him when we're down town!!
My heart 💔
I really trained this man to be a dishwasher at my old job after saying he wants to get his life back together. It was really eye opening
What an amazing man! His word are a true inspiration for all of us!
It's amazing what just a little kindness from the interviewer brings out such joy in the three people that I saw him interview tonight. Thanks for do this Mr. IP and making people more aware that people are people and this fate can happen to anyone.
He would be a good actor.
Cool guy! I hope he gets a home soon. Love his music.
What an amazing brotha with a great soul. I pray that God guides him and his daughters paths to one day unite here and if not may they have a unforgettable eternity of unity in Heaven.
What a beautiful soul ❤️
What a gifted man.
Yeah brother! Love from Texas ❤️ everyone needs to love love love ❤️
This man is one of our gems in Seattle! I hope he comes back for the summer, we miss him! ❤️ Love you pops!
This man should be gigging full time...hes good.
What a wonderful man. He's surely got talent.
I always find myself re-watching your videos here on Invisible People and how I can relate to things that some have to say and always say that could be any of us someday.. sure enough I knew it would be happening to me. If I don't come up with all my rent (I fell behind due to hard times) plus more I will be getting evicted on the 1st. I have no family or friends around, I'm alone and scared of what's to come. I thought at 20 years old my life would amount to much more than it is.. but I thought wrong. Everything has been a living hell for me for the past 3 years. I really need some positive vibes.. please and thank you. Take care.
💝
I really like the things this man said. Speaking such wisdom. Wonder how we could help to find his daughter?
Yes hope you and someone else could sing to make the right song together what you could need for music kind !
What a guy he's has a good hart I have been homeless for all most a year believe it or not I'm a school bus driver not all of us are bad people please don't sterio type the homeless thank you
A civilization is ranked by the way it treats children and the elderlies...
A beautiful soul xx
If I ever struck it rich somehow, I'd start an honest, generous record label to help people like him share THEIR music without corporate influence, and help them get off the streets
Wish I met him while I was there for vacation last month
Dang this guy is full of knowledge
Great content.
wisdom that he have .... amazing
God Bless him please❤️🌷❤️
WOW so wise words, I loved this man!
Better than a lot of chart "musicians" nowadays.
This guy has a right to be giddy..what does he have left to lose? Never understand how anyone can be so chipper in desperate situations like this..but if it makes him get through the day a bit better who can say anything
Thanks Glen! You made my day 🤗
Amen. Amazing man.
love this guy !
He can sing!!!! Stay strong bro.🌟☺🎶🎼🎺🐦🙏
He’s so talented!
Homeless is hard.
Just saw pops in belltown today! Guess he took the train back from SD and is sticking around for a couple of weeks!
Great music. That's an interesting camera you're using. It created what looks like tonal effects and his face in the shade of his hat looked like a painting.
The light was just bad. I tried to find someplace with shade but there was nothing close by.
@@InvisiblePeople It looked pretty cool actually.
Great work by the way with everything.
To believe... ✋❤✊🏠
Blessings😁😪😁😪😁😪💝😊😊😊😊🎇🎇🎇
Bright gentleman. I love his last name.
Классный мужик
I just saw him in Hillcrest
are you sure because someone in the comments just said they saw him in Washington again. -_-
This was about three months ago I’m sure it was him. At least it looked much like him. He looked like he was doing bad tho
I really like him
