And exactly how does AOC DO that---by trying to save the Planet? You DO realize that July 2019 (per NOAA) was the 415th Consecutive month that the Average Global Temperature was above the 20th Century Average? That 415 months does not seem to represent a "natural cycle" to me. BUT THAT'S JUST ME, I GUESS!
To put that "Streak" into perspective: As o July 2019, Ms. AOC had been ALIVE for 357 months, or only 86% of that 415-month Streak.

If you look at "usdebtclock.org", you'll see (in upper central part of the page)--TOTAL WORKER COMPENSATION = $11,495,431 MILLIONS divided by 157.4 MILLION (TOTAL U.S. WORK FORCE) = average income of 72,805 a year (rounded)
The MEAN income is about $50,000, since 50% of workers make more than that and 50% less than $50,000.

Also, she mentioned regenerative agriculture (ra). That is a must. ra actually means to regenerate the biological life in the soil -turn dirt into top soil. Good, deep top soil does many good things: 1.absorbs more rain, which adds groundwater to our depleted aquifers, reduces the need to irrigate, and reduces topsoil loss in the runoff, 2. increases the availability of minerals and nutrients to the plants/crops 3. takes carbon from the air, where it causes global warming, and stores in the ground, where much of it came from (think plowing). I had to watch this to hear these ideas straight from her mouth. My dad was explaining it to me from his staunchly Republican perspective (aka, the ridiculousness that is FAUX NEWS) that sounded as silly as the opposing views presented in the beginning of this interview. It sounded absolutely BONKERS the way he told it. I'm understanding the logic behind it after hearing an actual explanation... idk if it's a possible reality but I do think the ideas are rooted in making the world better!
Well it's not. The claim that we only have 12 years is not sound science and with the current state of the U.S. economy heading for a recession bigger than the one in 2008, plans to add taxes (which will end up taxing the poor and middle class more than the rich. Trust me the definition of rich will become very achievable since the value of the dollar will fall and you'll see that your purchasing power is the same but classified as rich) like health care for all (which will jack up the prices of health care because of the moral hazard subsidies have) will accelerate the downfall so fast that it might start world war 3.

The first step to recovery is to acknowledge the problem and not be in denial. Hopefully this is an example of more solutions to come to help heal our divided world on topics of less carbon emissions and social justice for ALL!!
I agree, dialogue is very important. The only thing I don't like is how we only blame ourselves when we only create 15% emissions when India and China combined are over 43% and this is considered taboo for some reason. America has technology that creates 0% emissions using natural gas. We could improve this tech and market it to other countries to actually make an impact instead of punishing ourselves. Very few people deny climate change on the left, right or center. Solar/wind farms are just a feel good solutions that do nothing to help our climate and would only punish ourselves.

Besides, the US are still the top emitter per capita, more than double China. You have a *long* way to go before actually punishing yourselves. Finally, the "everybody else does it" argument is what got the planet into this mess in the first place. Those who suffer are not the ones responsible and, I'm sorry to say, we (as we in the Western world) are to blame.

The vision is also something I agree with. We should transform our energy system while also stressing that everyone has a guaranteed access to quality of life. You know life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Side note, guaranteed income has worked just about everywhere it’s been tried. Back to the point. What sources do you have that would suggest a movement or resolution to transform our energy system would be a move to clean out the treasury?

Trump rallies show one angle front and center, right near the stage - even 3 or 4 separate angles is an improvement on that, let alone a big wide angle shot which is common at sports events.

I just love this young woman, we could have gone green back in the 1980s, my x husband and I talked about going solar for our home, we had plans on how to store pur heat and how to heat our floors. Unfortunately the marriage failed and we seperated. Still I would go that rout even today, and I talked my mother's neighbor into going solar, and for a retired lady she has saved alot of money. My mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 1997 wanted to stay independent, so she got a reverse mortgage. She didn't realize she sold her home, and she paid the loan back, but she was to far gone to even get the extra money she had paid into the company. I couldn't get it back because they would not help me. In order for me to keep our home I would have had to take a mortgage of onehundred thirty three thousand. I could not afford the payments more could I afford the taxes, or the cost of ok let alone electric food or phone. So I moved after she was gone but I would have loved to have kept it. I would have put solar in, built a deck in the back and planted square foot gardens in the back yard. There were other things I wanted to do too. But I was 75 could hardly walk and exhausted from careing for my Mom.
The green new deal is a great start. Please don’t discount animal agriculture. The methane gas, animal waste, ocean dead zones, etc... can’t be ignored. It is one of the main causes of climate change. America may not be ready to hear it, but the conversation needs to happen soon.

Unemployed here. I trained for the future, combating climate change, developing growing food using principles in ecology . BS in environmental policy, minor environmental economics, Masters in Environmental Studies. Went back to community college to learn winemaking, it's the industry in my area. A jobs deal would be great. I'm taking an online course learning the mechanics of solar energy, measuring efficacy, calculating potential energy production, manufacturing. What else can I do to prepare? In the mean time I'll take any job and work wholeheartedly. hunger sucks. So heck yes, I'm for the for the green new deal.
