Literally I hate the forest but I’d rather watch him play it while being happy. This dudes been crying about this game for more than a year now 9 years later he’ll probly still will be. How entitled can one be.
Loving the well idea! I wish they had a water purification craft item - or even the ability to empty clean water into the rain collectors. I could boil a bunch, dump them into multiple collectors so I wouldn’t have to travel to a stream or pond
Or they could add a craftable barrel. Maybe it requires a couple logs, 2 rope and some printed parts? Or let us dig a hole in the ground and line it with one of my many Mylar blankets. Instant immovable bucket. Point is, there should be more options. I can rig up some solar panels but I can’t pour water into a hole I dug?

To be fair, i felt the same way about traps and mele in The Forest. Once i had my gauntlet set up, i never really fought besides in caves
but you had the option, traps weren't necessarily the best, in my opinion at least. I would rarely set up traps because I hated the aesthetic of it on my pretty bases, so I chose to fight off all enemies, either with melee or ranged weapons. and it was never frustrating, I enjoyed it

I would say Endnight have only quarter delivered on what they promised with the trailers and snippets they’ve given us.. Id give em half but out of all the content they’ve given us only 5 things that DONT need polish or a ground up redesign… Love the game, love your content mate and I can understand the complaints especially with life getting a strangler on ya the past few months. Fish trap spam is great, especially on that one lake that a bunch of rivers connect to
I ran into the problem with spamming fish traps and getting too many rabbits with traps, if you put down like 15+ food racks and fill them all of your food glitches out.
So if you farm too much you get nothing basically.
I wish you could store pots and stuff but I really like the 3d printing pipes and plumbing idea that’s pretty neat
Pots store on the crafted shelves, and they keep there cooked ingredients if you made stews etc 🙂
I love the building system. I create amazing builds. And as for the plank on the slope, builders think of that, cause to get different outcomes you have to do different things. Otherwise it will try to lift the log up to level it out. And also to fill in that side gap you have on the slope. You place a 3Q log down flat first. Then the sloped angle then plank it, then fill up the sides again by stacking 3Q logs on that first 3Q log.
To the placing feature, In TF you placed stones into the holder, but in SoTF you place those rocks on the floor and the holder is made in a way that only supports flat floors.
Your videos are now all centered around one word: “frustrating ". Your job as a content creator is to turn frustrating into fun. I hope things are fine in your real life 💗

@@kereal2591 as you can read, I disagree. I have 3500+ hours in The Forest and a meager 350+ in SotF. I feel that grants me some say into wether or not SotF is any good.

You aren't alone, I had a group that played The Forest and we use to go ham building.
We were really excited for Sons of, but we haven't really played much and probably wont ever.
The building system is half baked.
Why did they even add electrical components when all you get at the end of the day is lights?
There's a ton that's just stupid with the building system and combat in this game.
Keep the content coming, every video gets me closer to starting a new save and picking the game up again with your ideas! Cheers.

I can tell your not even close to as happy or enthusiastic about this game than the first one, I feel the pain everytime I watch, or when I play the game myself, I wish they'd make the game like they made the first one but look as good as this second one..

This game is so beautiful and I wish I had more time to just fuck around and build like you do. I think the game is fine for basic building/surviving. Your ideas are too advanced for the game and I don't think that many players are trying what you're doing lol

Been building a lot in this game. In a lot of respects, I think the developers made intentionally flat areas around small ponds with the idea that these areas would be prime building locations. By extension, they were not expecting you to build in other areas. I think some of your frustrations have to do with you going against the grain of what they intended. I am not saying that you are wrong for building where you are, but I would say that there are definitely easier areas to build. I built a lodge on a lake island, which was comparatively flat and long, and I had very little in the way of issues getting the foundation set up. In other areas, yeah, I had a lot of difficulties setting things up as I wanted, but that had more to do with my ambitions exceeding my understanding of the game's mechanics.
If this man was a payday2 to payday3 player…. The amount of rage this man would have! :) love your content!
Fish traps work on ponds, even those without fish inside!
Hey Farket Agree some things need added some changed Imo. I Love the game just needs bit of tweakin maybe EN will surprise us all who knows? Keep them rolling
Think you hit the nail on the head when you said the original forest style building is what you miss. You were a master of building mechanics fudgery and physics manipulation. SOTF doesnt allow that as its much more robust and those bugs have been ironed out. That seemed to give you more enjoyment when you could teach your audience some great new tricks and never seen before building techniques.
Just do a forest playthrough man 👍👍
See now you're negative in a positive way. This I can get behind. Might I suggest running the forest alongside sons of the forest? If you have time to do both it may lessen the frustration. I know I'd watch both.

I tried to play this game recently and... Frustration was my most common gripe with it.
I had no idea this game had some of these various issues you're finding. I ended up stopping and waiting for updates because of the enemies, hope the devs can turn it around. That said, though, I'm loving this series.

the building system is more or less Lincoln Logs Simulator. I have a love hate relationship with the building system. compaird to other games. On a scale of 1-10 scale compaird to other building games and building systems. ..it rates a 4.
The comments complaining about Farkets complaining are more annoying than his complaining.
Love the in-house well. I feel inspired.
I wish there were more building options with bones. Like bone fences were great. Improved spikes would be awesome. Break a bone in half stick it in the ground or wall, thats gotta do more damage than a stick.

Just too much complaining in general. What's the point, if you hate it that much or it brings you nothing but misery then find another game. There's thousands out there, and most of them are better.

I think Farket has had some genuine critiques of SOTF, but it seems like he's turned into a sourpuss and nit-picking everything because the devs didn't address all of his specific critiques. It's seriously getting to be a bit cringe. None of the current critiques break the game or make it completely unplayable. If something doesn't work, quit going back to it! If I wanted to hear nonstop complaining, I can turn on cable news. Props to Farket for introducing me to The Forest years ago, but I can't stick around if the content coming out now makes me feel more anxious, less entertained, and less informed.

The building system is frustrating in this game, I don’t understand why they can’t just add the old system in as an option. The lighting at night is also bad. You can have your entire base lit up at night and you won’t even see it until you’re about 20 or 30 feet by it.
I have no issues watching your frustration with this game. I feel bad for you and madd vladd. Both of you have said multiple times...why didnt alot of the things that made the first game so good transfer into the sequel?" You dont really need a base in either game but we can all agree that building system was more accessible and user friendly to say the least.
Enemies drop skin packs which is a decent incentive to kill them espeically on the harder difficulty

I haven't played this or The Forrest, but from watching I get the sense that The Forrest was more about building bases and fighting the enemies and the story was mostly an afterthought. It seems to me that the story line is what the devs want to emphasize in The Sons. They devised a unique building method, but it's really unnecessary to complete the story. The bugs are only really abundant for those who would rather build than pursue the story.
Farket at 2:30 when u hadto place the plank i think you just enlightened me on one of my builds that i stopped working on because of how shit somme of the building is with that. building/fighting on hard has me fuming

Yea this game lost its luster for me. It looked gorgeous the first 4 hours. I think I have a memory leak, cause the graphics got worse the longer the game ran. Fsr3 didn't help

The reward for killing enemies is that you survive, it's a Survival Game you know....
Well.. Farket.. you do get more then bones from enemies.. you get small bags and you can get limbs for greg stew.. You don't get that cause you playing with an mod that removes it. You are making it so you yourself don't get the same amount as everyone else. so the idea of ''giving players more reason to kill enemy'' idea.. no I don't agree with you on that. because you already do get a lot of things, but you have just restrict yourself because of YT.
I also think you might have put yourself in an mentality where you are more focused on the bad in the game compared to the good, which is why you always get annoyed or frustrated.
I know that feeling, cause I do that myself in Sea of thieves.
We need more updates games still lacking content.
No offence but turning up the brightness so you can see in the caves/at night kinda ruins the horror vibe and how the game was ment to be. So expect things to not look as they should (building guide)

Mate with respect, you keep posting vids about how your trying not to produce negative videos etc. but you keep coming back to this game which its obvious you dont enjoy playing. I wanted Sons of the Forest to be better than it is but unfortunately it isnt, time to put this one to bed brother! We appreciate the honesty around the game definitely, but over time and so many vids it does kinda become miserable to watch you do something you arent passionate about. Honest feedback for ya mate, hope you find better options out there for content.
You should go back to The Forest because you dont seem to enjoy this game at all. Remember in the og when you cracked the mechanics on building? You did things I'd seen literally no one else doing. And in SOTF you've mostly been unhappy :(
The thing is that The Forest building system was too harsh and boring but idk maby it is just me and one of my first games being minecraft.
It’s insane, I use to watch all of farmers videos and now I can’t stand him anymore, dude does actually nothing but complain, like he will miss a bow shot by shaking his mouse really miss and just straight up miss and he will say “the devs didn’t make this bow shot straight” it was fun for the time but I’m unsubscribing I can’t take the comparing every waking moment

Dear Mr. Farket. Why on earth are you still playing this game if it annoys you SO much? I literally watch EVERY single video you post since I got hooked on the forest years ago. But man, you only complain! Complain here, complain there... and I get it, I just finished my 5th playthrough of sons of the forest and yes, some things annoy me, too. But if you are SO frustrated, why don't you just play a different game? Try Enshrouded and enjoy. It is AWESOME. And the building system is SO much better, too.
And ....YES.... THE FOREST is still the best game I have probably ever played. I love this so much. If there would be a "remaster" with Unreal Engine 5.... O.M.G. would I play this.
