I enjoy your videos. I watch them shortly before I sleep and often begin to sleep with thoughts about them. I will never have an opportunity to see these things that you share and live vicariously through them. Thank you for sharing what you do.
When my Son and I were going to visit Japan, I wanted to spend 2 days in Hakodate; too bad our plans fell through. There's always next year though. Thanks for sharing 😊
We absolutely love your videos. This is one of the channels we are excited to see post. One thing I noticed, is it seems like the places visit are generally much louder and much more animated than much of the USA. I am not sure if it's as overwhelming as it appears to me.
Hakodate is great, was there last year. Managed to arrive during a festival/parade unintentionally so took ages to get to my accommodation, which was pretty far down the tram line and no trams were running.
I stayed in 2 capsule hotels, one older one with the old style which I got the horizontal type so I didn't have to climb in vertically. If you know what I mean. Capsules turned long ways. Then I stayed in a beautiful one that was trained cabin style which is also style long ways with sliding screen. I'm staying in capsule hotels because I can save money and I'm doing is sleeping. And amenities are great. I capsules had air conditioning and electrical plugs, tv, the whole nine yards. The traditional capsule in Osaka was a community bathroom/shower. And you are train style and Kyoto had private showers but a public hot bath/sauna 140 degrees
Nice video. For some reason, at aroumd 22m 50s, the Western-style buildings reminded me of a 1998 Japanese movie I watched around 2010/2011: "After Life".
So glad I found your video as i plan my first trip to Japan. Question please: Will capsule hotel have room for my carry-on suitcase plus a large backpack?? Look forward to more Travelgeek
I use to be a travel geek myself. I loved cruises I stopped counting after 25 because I was just doing it to see new places. I really enjoy the meals you try and tell us about making atop 20 meals that you like. Because I amvery interest in trying them. But I have bee to alot of countries, how ever when my husband was stationed in Japan I wasn't able to make it.but I would like to try and make some of the dinners you have tried and like.can you please recommend a couple for me.i lived all my life around military and so I know a lot Philippine dishes my habit really crossed over to Japanese cooking, so could you give me some meals that she really enjoyed? If so, thank you so much.I look forward to seeing it
I was in Hakodate last summer. The city is really beautiful. I was up on the mountain during the day in beautiful weather. It also has a beautiful long sandy beach. But I was almost the only one there. Don't Japanese people go to the beach?
It will never not bug me how people in other countries call things that aren't burgers (which, by definition, are ground meat patties) "burgers." Also, if it does require payment, it isn't renting, it's borrowing. 😛
Hakodate is a historic city, and there are a number of interesting places to visit. However, the abundantly cheap seafood in the morning market makes for livelier experience. If you're _particular_ about food, seafood. This city has lots of seafood, so do not worry about not finding food in Hakodate.
does japan (tokyo) have a china town ? LOL .. i was just curious cuz i plan on visiting tokyo soon..im in thailand @ the moment. japan looks quite interesting . also japan looks so clean & orderly.. i like that
Hours ago when i watched the video the title was alright. How come the uploader changed his mind and call the capsule “dog kennel” now. In our culture such name is so despising we only call our own bedroom that way.
@@travelgeekphotography thank you so much for taking the comment seriously!! I never take it for granted but your quick and on-point response is really reallyyyyyy appreciated. ❤️

Yes! New Travelgeek! Every time there is new travel geek, I get beer, and cook, and watch it over dinner.
The hotel misspelled _hair iron_ but got sphygmomanometer right?!
What kinda ouroboros chokes on his own tail?! Even the Demiurge, in all his creative incompetence, doesn't do that.
Ideal for a single person on short stays. Wish they had them in US cities.
Wouldn't it be nice? Sure would make travel more affordable.
@@LostintheTangle Unfortunately most building codes in US cities make them illegal

At least you got the $500k view! 😊
Those places always remind me of a mortuary I'm afraid. You get the feeling they'd tie a tag to your toe and shut the drawer 😢
They remind me of the animal shelter. I feel like we should go there and adopt a Japanese person before they get put to sleep.
It will never not bug me how people in other countries call things that aren't burgers (which, by definition, are ground meat patties) "burgers." Also, if it does require payment, it isn't renting, it's borrowing. 😛
Just a note that you aren't "renting" if the items are free. You are borrowing them.
I like that they have collections of manga. I guess the translator says comic books but they are more than comic books.

Oh, retro!
I'm wondering if capsules that can fit two people exist. Something for couples traveling together and wanting a cheap place to sleep.
good🎉
Does the capsule door “lock” to keep any murderers out? Didn’t see anything…
Ha! Rock!
4:01That whole thing looks straight outta 1978!
I like your watch. What brand?

It's more likely foodgeek xD

Look like the the slot was for CRT TV get replaced by brand new flat screen TV but not really fit at all
BTW 3000 JPY per night really bargain deal
Dude, all those capsule beds look like stacked microwave ovens. And the inside of one feels like a bunk in a nuclear submarine.
Sorry, free whiskey on tap? Well, I might be able to put up with the 1970s plastic pods then ...
How in the hey did you have room for all that food?!
i stay in the hostel before, my personal experience is, if u cant take noise, it will be a disaster night

The thumbnail looks like a bunch of dog kennels.
You get what you pay for
I doubt Russia would ever develop capsule hotels. Too corrupt.
So empty..you never see other people around. Kinda creepy like that 😳.
Not really. Humans are the most dangerous creature out there. It's far creepier being around them than not being around them.
I presume there would be a lot of haunting stories coming from hakodate too
I like your watch. What brand is it?
