Very nice Layout, Josh! Here's my $0.02.... Free standing table and chairs, love seat, keep the oven (even if small), microwave, door holders (come on..... how cheap is Jayco?) Big fan in the bathroom, opening vent in the bedroom (looked fixed to me?) 20 lb tanks would be fine. But like I started with..... very nice layout!
Love my oven in my Alliance. Dislike the convection. Noise level is like that of a microwave but unlike the microwave it isn’t a minute if run time but 30 minutes or more depending on the meal.
The depth of the counters is awesome if you could rig a way to secure your larger appliances like slow cooker, pressure cooker, coffee pot, that would save from having to pack them away during travel.
I hate to disagree with you Josh, but I definitely want the most airflow in the bathroom to get rid of any shower condensation and any leftovers from Taco Tuesday and Fajita Friday😂
@@JoshtheRVNerdSince you have stated how affordable they are on so many occasions, you would think that there would be no excuse to ever see a cheap Dollar Store fart fan in any new RV👍
We picked our Jayco 26FK 2 months ago, and we love it. The counter space is awesome. Storage is awesome. We almost got the Rockwood but did not like the vents in the floor. Love the video you do.

Thank you for chatting with us about it, and at great length.
It’s not often that you see a great floorplan from Jayco that includes standard solar, a ladder, a TV, a porcelain toilet and a true queen bed👍the only disappointments are the tiny elbow banger radius shower and Dollar Store 4” fart fan🙁
Ok, isn't the easy bake oven the traditional RV oven? Rather have a full size. Instead of a microwave rather have the air fryer with the rotisserie. Since I would only use the microwave for🍿 they could throw in a little air popper? 🤔 😂
I like it, a little longer than my sweet spot. Maybe Its just me, but I rather have the closet slide and the bed stay put, that way you know you can use the bed without putting the slide out on those overnight stops.

We saw this model at the Hershey show and was super impressed. We were looking at the Coachmen Apex FK model and although we liked it we were less than impressed by both the exterior and kitchen storage. The Apex appears to have lots but when you really look at it the kitchen is very shallow and almost unusable. Also a big selling point to me is a large pass through. Can’t really put much in the Apex. But this pass through and the deep under counter cabinets are amazing. We also liked the fact that you can put the toaster and coffee maker out of the way but easily in reach on that back shelf. Wish they would have made the bed slide full height for more outside storage. Great review as always Josh.
I don't know if this floor plan has this as an inherent flaw, but my dad has the Rockwood with the exact same floorplan. I've found that due to the large kitchen slide, and the bed slide being on the same side, the trailer tilts slightly to one side, even with the stabilizer jacks down.
@@JoshtheRVNerd This was in a campground, on blacktop. We leveled the trailer, then put down the stabilizer jacks, then deployed the slide-outs. The Rockwood my dad has definitely has a lean with both slide-outs on the same side. It doesn't matter what you do to stabilize the frame system, with that much weight to one side, the leaf springs and suspension start to tilt.
I’m 5’7” and I must have monkey arms because those counters’ depth are not an issue. I’d set up the coffee maker, toaster, paper towel holder, utensil holder, knife block and my small produce baskets there. No problem because then I’d have free and clear counter space!
Don’t need an oven, we try to cook most meals outdoors. Do like a microwave when we have electric available for a quick heat/reheat. Thanks for another great video!
@JoshtheRVNerd replace the dinette with a desk. I've seen that in other rvs. Or have that option for couples who don't need the dinette. It's hard to find an rv with a desk or table (with chairs) big enough for sewing. I have been tempted many times to drive to your Bish's for your help. Right now, I'm in an F450 with an Artic Fox 990 truck Camper.
Countertop--A+, Bedroom--A+, Bath good enough, but needs high-rise faucet with that sink. The r4st handles storage ell. Great little rig. I could live in it. (y)
The window coverage is unbelievable. The second door into the bathroom is a saving grace (the floorplan in the beginning didn't show it). I wish the TV was on a swivel bracket so if you are having movie night, you can put the TV directly facing the theater seats. Question: the bed is on a slide and advice is always not to be in slides when retracted. How does that rule apply here?
I'll say it now, and I've said it before, get rid of the 1950 dinnette, 2 Euro seats would take care of that, & an old fashion idea...... TV tables!!!!
My recommendation for those deep counters would be to buy one or more kitchen counter appliance sliding trays. So you can basically store the stuff you don't use much back towards the wall, but slide it towards you when you need it so you're not doing a bell balance on the counter to use the appliance. You can also super glue a small plastic ring onto the slider if need be and use something like a coat hanger or even a rod to pull on the ring easier.
I’ve spent way, way too much time thinking about microwave / air fryer vs Ovens, but we had the same issue in our RV. We have an ‘air fryer microwave’ and it’s a great microwave, but it’s so bad at being an air fryer we bought a Ninja air fryer. That said, I’ve seen enough people complain about their ovens that I think at this point I’d take the extra storage, give me some burners and I’ll rock a stand alone air fryer on the counter.
I’m guessing you’re not in MICH!! 😆 short sleeves sunshine and shiny (sweaty??) for head?? 🤣 you had me for a second..I’m in Love with the Astoria 2913FK. Keep hoping I’ll find something in another brand..this one is close!
I was looking at a used rv fifth wheel with the stove up against the wall. I saw burn marks on the wall. The year of the rv was a 2017 river rock big fire hazard. The stove should have a good space around the stove like a brinkley 3100 .
Honestly the extra counter space is almost useless. More like an area for decorations while keeping your counters clear. I also wish someone made this floorplan but with a 3 seater recliner couch and a built in desk instead of a dinette. A lot more manufacturers are getting rid of the dinette (which I like because it would only be my pets and I) but they need to do it with more floorplans to have more options.
Josh I have a 2021 F150 max tow with everything set up for the highest tow rating , My payload max of 1785 . Its just my wife and I camping so not a ton of stuff . I feel i should be ok ideally I understand the bigger truck would be better but its not in the cards right now . I'm not in the rocky mountains mostly PA/NJ
I like the extra counter space--room for a tea/coffee mess and some plants. Nice! One thing, though...full-length mirrors are really nice and I'd like to see them on the bathroom door. Putting mirrors facing the bed makes for a super creepy time in the middle of the night. These guys aren't the only ones, but it's a thought every time I see that. I start coming up with ways to cover the mirrors. ... maybe I've seen too many scary movies. Anyway, keep rockin' it, Josh! You're my favorite RV educator.
I love the White Hawk series. I just found out they changed up the 27RK in a couple key areas for 2024 and am REALLY excited to see your tour of it! Thanks for all the work on all the videos you put out for us!
No skylight in kitchen, 2 big vent fans, love the kitchen counter. A nice fresh herb area behind the sink. The cabinet over the toilet should be to the ceiling. Enclose over door. One entry from hall enough. No oven. Cargo capacity is more important.
Love Jayco but this model has 2 things that I do not love. The seating being inline not conducive for conversation and the radius shower😔. Again I still love Jayco just not this one. Thanks Uncle Josh.
Josh have you ever seen a trailer with one 30 lb and one 20 lb propane tank setup? I would like that. Cuz two 30’s sounds great for total volume, and two 20’s seems almost light for boondockers BUT one of each balances volume and ease of gas station swapping
Thoughts on towing is I down sized to an F-150 with eco boost from an F-350 DRW. First thing I did with the 150 was to install a Timbren rear suspension enhancement system. I would think between that and the weight distribution hitch I have I should be able to safety handle it. Thoughts??
Apologies I'm not familiar with how a modified vehicle whose capacities I don't know would work here. I suspect it'll likely depend on where you tow it Towing recommendations for things like wind zones or elevation changes are different than flat landing naturally
Great content Josh. Always appreciate you going RV looking instead of us, well we only have to click the button. Squirrel! Wish they would have kept the smart tail lights. Air fryer defiantly for me. It's four season, did they rate it for fulltime living? If not why is the Eagle rated so and Whitehawk not? Wonder if you're appreciating the warmer temps now?
"full time living" is not a thing warranted in RVs. It's a fine line that matters greatly. here's a video clarifying ua-cam.com/video/rCwg6QfTy-E/v-deo.html
I like it to Josh. I like the color palette, can never go wrong with too much counter space, must always choose max solar for when you have to bug out and off the grid for when SHTF, max propane as well since you never how long you’ll be out - can you put 40’s on? I never exchange my 20’s. I have 5 of them and always refill at the end of season so I always have to cook on the grill in case of a power outage. Not being an RV’er (yet) myself, I’m not sure how hard it is to find a refill spot instead of exchanging at a convenience store, refilling should be cheaper I’d imagine. I can see me owning this, but I’m cheap and would want to lay less. I’d want a big fan on the bathroom for the megawatt farts 💨 that those dollar fart fans just can’t handle after a bean night. All in all a great unit. The manufacturers must be listening to you and taking your advice as your ideas seem to be appearing in more and more videos. I hope that you can put on your schedule to appear at the QCCA RV & Camping show Feb. 23-25, 2024 for a meet and greet and hand out stickers and nerd merch. Here is a link for you and everyone else. Have a great week. Until the next video….. Thanks Nerd! 😂
Between this one and The Rockwood 2608BS which is better ? Do you have any 2024 Rockwood 2608BS and how much are they. Is the Jayco about same price as the Rockwood. Which one is better that has more options?
There’s a direct “this one is better” answer If there was we wouldn’t carry them both if that makes sense They each have advantages over the other Our website shows what we have on hand with pricing. Our team at 800-256-5196 has both brands at the same store and would be well equipped to assist you
I don't think I mentioned it actually. Let me take a look... Looking at the 10:25 -ish mark.. I think you can. Those little side wings would need to be removed (which isn't hard) and it could be done
You know what.. you're right. I was just operating on some old autopilot at the end of a long day with folks cruising thru the display. Didn't even think about it TY for this
Some companies have a giant temp chamber They pull it in. Change the temp to whatever and leave probes in the rv in various areas Means they’re able to maintain living or non-freezing temps in those areas under those conditions indefinitely
Apologies - I cannot answer towing questions based only on engine size. Trucks simply vary too much Most likely the truck payload rating vs. this one's hitch rating is the biggest limiting factor. Not trying to be difficult but I don't like to cut corner when it comes to towing safety
Lot of folks feel similarly. Cougar has a few left in their lineup but stopped building new models with them years ago and are now slowly re-working old models to get rid of them
Dinette is good, Barbie oven has to go, mini micro has to go. Couples like to eat in often, bedroom stoRAGE is a huge improvement for Jayco, no outdoor kitchen, hard pass on this
They the manufacturing company’s need to design couples and single individuals, making more room, dinettes take up to much space! Counter space I thing all manufactures need to accommodate for the divorced, etc for full time living. Property taxes have doubled we’re i live! Modular homes are more than sight built specs were 2 to 5 years ago! We all as homeowners are struggling! I’ve been looking for the right well built one! I’m soon after out and selling, house and don’t want to spend every penny I have, going to likely pay cash when I find a perfectRIG, SADLY I HAVE FOUND VERY FEW I LOOK DAILEY!
Okay Uncle Josh, I absolutely like this Jayco Front Kitchen, Rear Bedroom Travel Trailer, BUT, I see 3 things WRONG here! #1. The bedroom does not have the breeze through side windows. #2. The kitchen doors up by the ceiling does not have struts to help hold open the door. #3. It's not a table and chairs set up.
Did you hear the San Diego city council is making new laws to combat public urination and defecation? It's their #1 and #2 priorities. Sorry, your door joke made me think of that.
I like everything about this trailer...except that damn theater seat. Why. Do rv builders insist on defaulting to those. I know im not the only one who feels this way.
You’re not the only one at all. But they have become the more popular option Though it can vary a bit regionally. Salt lake area is a hot spot for sleeper sofas

Larger tanks could be applied by an owner may also need a longer regulator hose & rod to hold them in place
When is the White Hawk 32RL review coming?
Haven’t been able to get my hands on one yet
Between this one and The Rockwood 2608BS which is better ? Do you have any 2024 Rockwood 2608BS and how much are they. Is the Jayco about same price as the Rockwood. Which one is better that has more options?
There’s a direct “this one is better” answer
If there was we wouldn’t carry them both if that makes sense
They each have advantages over the other
Our website shows what we have on hand with pricing. Our team at 800-256-5196 has both brands at the same store and would be well equipped to assist you
You may have said it already, but could you put an Olympic queen in this camper?
I don't think I mentioned it actually. Let me take a look... Looking at the 10:25 -ish mark.. I think you can. Those little side wings would need to be removed (which isn't hard) and it could be done
I hate the table leg. I can not tare down the table by myself to heavy. Why can't Jayco just put the fold down legs on. Any suggestions?
Yeah try something like these instead a.co/d/hqtfTmQ
@@JoshtheRVNerd thanks. I'll check into it.
Oven. Oven oven oven. It's a deal breaker
Good to know. TY
You said access the bed in road mode. You can’t use that bed with the slide in, can you?
You know what.. you're right. I was just operating on some old autopilot at the end of a long day with folks cruising thru the display. Didn't even think about it
TY for this
I watch these a lot. Am I in the nerd herd? lol
Without question
I've asked before and never gotten an answer. What specifically does 0-100 degree rated actually mean?
Some companies have a giant temp chamber
They pull it in. Change the temp to whatever and leave probes in the rv in various areas
Means they’re able to maintain living or non-freezing temps in those areas under those conditions indefinitely
Could take out table booth never used our stove .
Can I tow this with 3.0 duramax with max tow package?
Apologies - I cannot answer towing questions based only on engine size. Trucks simply vary too much
Most likely the truck payload rating vs. this one's hitch rating is the biggest limiting factor.
Not trying to be difficult but I don't like to cut corner when it comes to towing safety
Radius showers should be banned forever.
Half ton towable safely
I am currently looking, I watched your video posted today. I’m in Abilene area WILL NEVER PLAY SALESMAS, BS RHETORIC!
1.) Fair
2.) Agree
3.) Available as an option! :)
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thank you Uncle Josh, I will let my husband know, thanks again Uncle Josh! 🤗
Did you hear the San Diego city council is making new laws to combat public urination and defecation?
It's their #1 and #2 priorities.
Sorry, your door joke made me think of that.
I love this joke
I like everything about this trailer...except that damn theater seat. Why. Do rv builders insist on defaulting to those. I know im not the only one who feels this way.
You’re not the only one at all. But they have become the more popular option
Though it can vary a bit regionally. Salt lake area is a hot spot for sleeper sofas
You are the only one....
I really like the space and floorplan the only downside, the radius shower.
cougar has a version coming i'm SUPER excite to showcase. No Radius shower :)
Another great kitchen, and nice layout.
Thank you very much!
