Hello, @Reuben Mosselmans 😃. I've seen your Comment before but haven't had time to try smaller cutters before. Last night I tried to see how it goes with the smaller cutters and I had no problems. I think it is only important that the blade does not protrude much so that the cutter is always stable inside and it should sit right in the tool. I hope I could help you at least a little with my answer. ✋
I have this plane also and the smaller cutters use a different holder (cutter hold down screw I believe it's called). It's threaded and goes through the same hole as the bolt of the sliding piece but it has a big flat head on it that tightens up against the side of the smaller cutters. I think it's needed for 1/8 inch and smaller.
With small cutters (1/8 and 3/16), don’t use the sliding section, just the small cutter retaining screw. Directions for the plane can be found online if your plane did not come with them.
The shaving deflector is supposed to sit on top of the blade in the middle of the main stock and sliding section. Not on the side as shown in the video.
Lucky stiff!! That plane's in like new condition! Enjoy!
Thx dude 😉 I’m just so happy to have this plane in this state ...
they were made and coated in nickel plating!!! so it protects it from rust as long as the nickel plating is intact!
Grazie della dimostrazione 👍👋
Thanks! Needed your vid to assemble mine.
A helpful hint start your cut forward of where you wish to cut, and work back taking small tracks till you are full length stroke, more control.
Are you able to get the smaller cutters to work? I have the same tool and the smaller cutters seem to not be able to sit right in the tool.

you start from the front and don´t grab it by the extensions !

and in the 50 only when using the tongue cutter. Otherwise use the depth stop.
Thumbs down to deaf-mutes.
