    $5 above minimum wage only gets you 50% of the average cost of living and we have open immigration policies during a housing crisis. That's helpful.

    The situation will only get worse and will spread into other parts of Boston, When you allow open air Drug use, you invite other Durg users from other parts of the Country because they know Drugs are readily available and public Drug use is accepted plus there are no consequences and that is what we are seeing. This could lead the end of Wu as Mayor if it is not solved.

    I moved out of Seattle in 2020 because this was spiraling out of control. Never regretted it. You get what you subsidize. Keep enabling this and you get more of it. Untold thousands of drug addled above-the-law elites who can do whatever they want while "normal" people have to obey all the laws and somehow stay safe too.

    Well, the government is spending trillions of tax payer dollars to secure other borders around the world, and fund migrants by the millions with benefits. But as far as America goes, particularly our U. S. Vets, the homeless, the evicted tenants, the black people and other citizens, this here United state of American government couldn’t give a care.

    We need to weave out the trouble with those who really want help, some are a lost cause down there, not to mention the drug dealers on blue bikes and scooters down there not making it any better, soon this we’ll spread out like the plague and be in our neighborhoods and kids park, allowing them to do drugs there without getting punished is crazy to me, soon they will be breaking in your house and car an whatever else they can get into smh 🤦‍♂️

Plenty of police there and I felt safe even at night. If Wu really cared then boots on the ground and interview these homeless people! She may learn something.

    What the fuck is going on in this street? My wife delivered in Boston medical center and we could not even walk to Hampton suites which is just 2 blocks away. Saw live mugging today in broad daylight and car knocked down a drug addict walking aimlessly on the main road yesterday night. This place is so dangerous. For god sake, get rid of them. This is a serious public safety issue and question of humanity does not arise. They knock on windows of cars stopping for the red signal. Should we all carry a gun just in case? Because the police car parked there is only going to come after something bad happens. Its reactionary and its not preventing this crap.

      In Texas, every 42hrs a woman or girl and child is shot, stabbed, choked or beaten to death.
      In 2022, 15,695 elderly Americans were abused by family or caregivers.
      In South Carolina 36,000 domestic violence calls are put out to police.
      Chicago??
      You Americans don't hate each other?
      What news are you watching.

    • @elisha8614
      @elisha8614 9 місяців тому +1

      Apparently you haven't seen this. These are not people who lost their jobs and ended up homeless. These are people who have been suffering from drug abuse for years. This became an issue after the Long Island bridge was closed in 2015. Long Island was home to the primary addiction recovery services available to these people who have since migrated to this area that is now an open air drug market. During the pandemic, "safe consumption sites" were set up and you would see addicts injecting drugs into their necks if you were driving by. You seem to have missed the point.

    • @generalwillwelsh7926
      @generalwillwelsh7926 9 місяців тому +1

      Why dont you go down there and see what these people are doing. I worked on mass ave last night. I saw someone get stabbed, multiple people shooting up, people smoking crack, prostitutes, and much more. And that was a monday night.

    • @bobbylee_
      @bobbylee_ 9 місяців тому

      @@elisha8614 Your constant “these people” say it all. I’m sure it makes you feel better about yourself and simplifies the world for you. You have a highly prejudicial and elementary way of seeing things. The point that you missed is that homelessness doesn’t equate criminality.

    • @bobbylee_
      @bobbylee_ 9 місяців тому

      @@generalwillwelsh7926 Why don’t you stop making such broad and gross generalizations. Homeless doesn’t equate criminality. Criminalizing poverty and homelessness is a reflection of a social unwilling to address the root causes that cause those conditions because society itself and it’s setup are implicated in creating those conditions.
