Please do not be demotivated, use this opportunity to educate people. The moment people hear the word subscribe they automatically assume there is some form of monthly contribution attached to it. Take the issue of ads for instance, most of us used to skip them until you educated us and made us understand how they contribute to your income. Keep up the excellent work❤

I totally agree! Also, her content caters for a market that’s somewhat family oriented which makes me think that most people who watch her channel are much older. And just based of the older people in my life, they associate subscriptions with paying so I suspect that could be one of the problems. Maybe explaining that subscribing doesn’t mean paying will get some more viewers to turn into subbies.

I think creators should watch how they speak to their audience. Watching your content is a big effort and a sign of support, people are using their time and data on you. It’s not fair to say they just take and take. You should talk to us about the benefits of subscribing and engaging so we can support you best. I used to skip ads until creators explained why they’d like us to watch.
Khanya is putting together content not a big effort? Do we as creators not spend data to upload? Do we not spend days vlogging, we hours editing? Pay subscription for copyright music? Buy microphones buy camera, lighting etc is that not “big effort?” Should that effort not be reciprocated by an audience that enjoys my big effort????
Honestly I would much rather prefer you don’t watch my videos rather coming back week in and week out for months or years but you don’t subscribe. Being at the mercy of your audience just because they are watching is lethal to us creators as well what’s the use of you watching me with your data and time without subscribing when it means I will not grow? I don't know of any youtuber that's more perfect than you Gugu- consistency, effort, transparency, vulnerability. You literally pour your heart and soul in your vlogs and you probably are the only youtuber in the whole of SA that makes her subscribers feel like the real VIPs because we know you dont half-do things when it comes to us and dont upload just for the sake of uploading and give us dull content.
This is to say if you quit youtube because of the ones that do not appreciate and see these things about you, then you may probably be leaving a hole that may never be filled in the hearts of us who have appreciated and loved you since day 1.
