I don’t like collecting books. But I like the feeling of bringing home new books. So I go to the library, pick up books that I’m excited about, might be interested in, or books that just have beautiful covers and I want to look at them more. I get as many as I can carry. I come home stack them all up and admire them. I might read the first few pages of them and see if I really want to read them. And when the novelty wears off I just take them back and get more! It fulfills the need and I don’t have to spend any money. Win win!
That's SO SMART!!!! Little library hauls and return them once the novelty wears off is Genius because a lot of books are just popularized because of social media nowadays so it's hard to tell if I actually want to read a book or if I just heard a lot about it!!
Great job! Unhauling books is such an addictive feeling. Just let it all go, sis. For video suggestions, I'd love to see something like a project TBR challenge. Not saying you need to have 0 be your goal, but I get the vibe that you want to read more of the books you own. I'm the same & struggling with still fighting the urge to buy more books, but I have so many great unread books on my shelves I want to read. I might just need to be hard on myself and go on a book buying ban and make a dent in the TBR. I'd love to see you count your current TBR & then for a set time read only from your TBR and reduce it to a goal amount.
Thank you! I feel like both book buying and I hauling can be addictive!! Thank you so much for the video recommendations!!! I've thought about do that but I never knew how to tackle it in videos besides the 30 books in 30 days 🤣 But I completely feel you. That need to be more disciplined is hard!
I'd love to see some TBR challenges as I'm also struggling to make a dent in mine. What's been helping me is doing little challenges like reading 5 thrillers I own or reading 5 books with a certain word in the title or a particular image on the cover. 😄
@@JessicaNicoleDickerson the UA-camr drinking by my shelf has a series called balancing the books It's essentially a monthly wrap up where she tries to get more books off her tbr than she is putting on to it. I think that would be a fun challenge for you since it's something that is gradual rather than immediate I also watch a German UA-camr that does a series called die Rache des SUB (Revenge of the tbr) where she watches back an old haul video and all the unread books she had to read within a set amount of time (3 months I believe) or she has to unhaul them I think challenges like this would be great since they are more long term and will most likely inspire you to be more aware of your consumerism
🍄 It always feels so good to unhaul. I've been doing that with everything in my house lately. I have been feeling so overwhelmed by all the stuff in my house & it just feels so good to clear it out! In my mid-year freak out tag, I talk a bit about consumerism & how finding/joining booktube has changed my reading habits.
I feel like a lot of book creators are learning about what they like and less about what’s popular. It’s really important to stay true to yourself good luck with your physical TBR 🍄
Good job unhaul but you got rid of some of my favorites but you did amd motivated me to do the same were do a book drive at work so I'm going to be getting rid of some also
I have come to the conclusion that I will have a lot of books. I mean I unhaul books every now and then to see if my local used bookstore can get credit or cash. But I love my books and want to keep most.
Same. My grandma would say books are treasure, so I do collect them. But lately I have stopped myself from buying more without finishing my physical tbr. Now when I buy it’s either books I have loved when read on my phone, ooor books that I know I’ll read immediately.
You ain't missing a thing with A Song Below Water. And it's not even a mermaid urban fantasy. It's a siren magical realism with heavy discussion of misogynoir. It didn't do what the blurb promised.

🍄 Plus you can get books from the library and if there is a book that you love and will re-read, then you can buy a copy of it.

Maybe like a project TBR challenge? Not necessarily to zero but like trying to read a certain amount in a month? Also great job! 🍄
Same, I'm not excited by alot of new releases and that fine just more excited what's on my shelf.

Hey, new follower here from Puerto Rico. I hope you're well, and that you have a good day.
God bless, take care + happy reading :)
I LOVE tbr challenge video's. Maybe that can help with your goal to get rid of more things?
Thank you for sharing your journey! I started using Pangobooks because of your rec. I have been buying more than selling though... oops
Alot of book I have learn that alot of my library have the book I'm looking for on audiobook. Shadowshaper for sure
Damn you got rid of so many! I need to get on the unhaul train like this!
Love to see updated book shelf tour, reading vlog or reading a trilogy or video base of movies idk
I don't think anyone will yell at you over Beast of Prey. I DNF'd myself because it just wasn't gripping me.
Really!? Omg I've only heard raving reviews and I just haven't been drawn to reading it - that makes me feel better!
@@JessicaNicoleDickerson I know so many people who started it and lost interest
unrelated but your hair looks really good!
I may have to do an unhaul myself, you inspired me 😅 (also 🍄!)
I love your unhauls and I need to be inspired by this. I still have books on my shelves that I gave 2 stars "just in case" ??????
How do you get arcs? I really want to sign up!

Oh interesting! Yeah I think I was grabbing a bunch of books that were talked highly about on social media - but I'll honestly never read then🙃 hehe
@@JessicaNicoleDickerson Yeah sometimes you think you want a new release so badly and then the hype dies down.
I bought one but now I'm feeling kind of guilty because you're selling them so cheap. I feel like I'm stealing. LOL
Ugh Normal People. I wanted to like it. I really wanted to like it.
