I'm doing this right now with 1 Lockadin, 1 Bardlock , Dark Justitiar Shadowheart and Astarion archer wearing the blind immunity ring. It's absurdly strong and makes almost every fight in the game trivial, including some fights where it doesn't make sense like the god of death fight etc. I think they should make a lot more enemies immune to magical darkness especially undead bosses, it just feels ridiculous that they can't do anything at all from 1 level 2 spell. Thanks! To be honest, the title here is a little misleading - this party is only sort of focused on blasting. It's really a party centered around "wet" but unless you know the game mechanic already that's not a useful title (calling it "the wettest party in BG3" might also trigger youtube's content filters :P). I didn't really want to call it a lightning focused party either because I think that's too narrow a description for a very well-rounded group, so after a while thinking about it I gave up and decided it could just have a slightly misleading title.
I know I already left a comment, but I gotta say that this party is fucking powerful if you'll excuse my language. My main char is the lightning lord and she's joined by Karlach, Shadowheart, and Moon druid Wyll. Thanks to you, we killed W'Wargaz whole room before they got a single attack. I'm in Act 2 now
Thanks so much for the support! Yes, paladin strategies are on the way - paladins and monks are the two honor mode classes you most need to build the party around imo, so I definitely plan to give setups for those!
@Cephalopocalypse yay!! Thank you! I've used so many of your builds. The only thing I have trouble with us early game item picking. There are just so many choices.
This sounds like a lot of fun! I'd personally love to see a full mono-class party guide - having to manage several multi-classed characters is a bit overwhelming for me, honestly
Super important thing for Moon druid if you decide to play myridons with weapons. You are not automatically proficient in the weapons they have, reducing your chance to hit. Best solution to start fighter lvl 1, it gives all weapon proficiencies you can need, con save proficiency and heavy armour as a bonus
It's true! Though most of the time for this party if you want to be attacking in myrmidon form you'll go earth myrmidon, which both doesn't have the proficiency issue and works with tavern brawler. The other forms are generally used for utility rather than melee damage
With how versatile Bards are I think an all Bard party would be fun to see. Now that I think about it, a few of the classes you could probably build successful mono-class parties around, so anything like that would be interesting just because it’s not typical combo lots of other videos already cover.
Just as a point of note, you can also rush the rogue 3 for thief and have access to two enraged throws when you get berzerker. It might not be as damage efficient, but it is really nice with the double knock prone every turn :)
Thank you so very much for the guide! It might be against your intention, but I woud certainly like to see some gameplay. I fumble stuff so much and an optimiized play is as important as an optimized build.
This is it! Saving this for my next run. Will be swapping lightning sorc with lightning arrow ranger and make my cleric a half-wizard to suit my taste, but general idea stays.
Interesting setup. I'll probably do a 5 sorc/6 temp-clr/1 wiz on the one-shot lightning, so I have 2 maximized witch bolts per short rest, or if needed 2 maximized CRIT witch bolts per long rest using illlthid auto-crit + auto-crit ring. Opportunity cost of this setup is that 6 sorcery points is the magic number (so you can quicken spells 2 turns in a row OR twin a lvl 6 witch bolt) and portent allowing you to turn misses into hits, but considering you can just sac 1 lvl spell ahead of time to gain that magic sorcery point number and you have luck as a halfling, I'd say the opp cost is low. On the upside, you can zap two high priority targets per short rest with only spell slots used as a resource, and your nova damage went from 460 to 608. Which is just shy of one-shotting a certain daemon in conjunction with elemental adept...
Alternative on the Thrower build, put your last levels into Fighter and get aldrich night with Weapon Bond on the Trident of the waves. Even more water everywhere and it now returns.
I’m playing 4 warlock rogue and they are crazy. Darkness+hide makes them unkillable and i have 8 darknesses to play with each short rest Melting everything with no chance of losing
Thanks for the video! With these full HM party build I might actually try to get the golden dice again. I abandoned the my first and only HM attempt after I failed to save Isobel from Marcus and got everyone at Last Light killed 😅
Definitely the most valuable materials about this game. I have one question. Can I take a bard (College of Swords Bard / Fighter) from your previous guide instead of a druid?
I'm kinda mixed on this one. The druid is the only real melee fighter. The Barbarian _can_ melee, but it's built for range like the other 2. I see a lot of disengaging, or misty steps unless good planning happens. For a future build, a short rest party: Warlock, Monk, Battlemaster Fighter, and Bard.
You definitely won't have a problem with enemies closing to melee - they'll just be dead before that can happen, or so locked down by sleet storm/spike growth etc that they can never reach you. The real issue is that by turn 2 it will be hard for your druid to find anything to attack in most fights.
I love the concept of this video: a whole party working together to take advantage of a single mechanic. I'm looking forward to future iterations on this idea! In keeping with that theme, the moon druid feels a little out of place. The myrmidon forms are fantastic, but come very late and cut your total number of wildshapes per long rest in half. The summons are also great, but are also available to Land and Spores druids who are more able to utilize syergistic spells like Call Lightning. I think the class would fit a lot better if it had some way to stay on-theme even in the very early levels, and even when you don't want to spend 2 wildshapes on a single encounter. What if you started with a one level dip in White Dragon Sorcerer? You'd lose out on reaching 20 WIS (or the Alert feat) and some HP on your wildshape forms, but in exchange you'd gain access to Armor of Agathys, allowing you to do consistent, action-economy free damage of a relevant type from level 1. You'd also get the additional benefits of proficiency in Con saves and access to useful spells like Shield (for when you aren't wildshaped). You could even do a 2 level dip for metamagic (for a Careful Entangle, maybe?) without sacrificing any of your wildshape forms, but having access to Wall of Thorns is probably better. What do you think?
honestly, assassin/fighter/tempest cleric makes sense for a wet and wild build. I.E shovel surprise round, conjure water outside of combat into combat, action surge + haste pot, get call lightning off 3 times in a row and all should be autocrits from assassin alacrity/initiate. And double damage from wet.
Just lost my first honor mode run trying to climb the brain stem it was bugged and wouldn’t let me climb up. 60+ hours down the drain gonna try this party setup
My take on the Tempest build: 8 STR 8 DEX 16 CON 17 INT 15 WIS 8 CHA + 1 Sorcerer (1) + 1 Cleric (2) + 1 Wizard (3) + 1 Cleric (4) + 2 Sorcerer (6) + 6 Cleric (12) Sorc 3 / Cleric 8 / Wizard 1 By focusing on Cleric you get 1 extra charge of max damage per short rest Like to have a Bard on the party for the extra short rest With an item from act 3 that gives another charge, you can do max damage 9 times per long rest Also get to be an decent healer for the party by focusing Cleric Will have less sorcery points as the only negative I really dislike having to long rest a lot (usually Warlock is the only caster I use because of that), so this works better for me
I don't think it's essential - there's a lot of options that could work here. A bard for more short rests will let your lightning character do the combo more times per day, or a warlock to give you a darkness bubble to play out of are some options that come to mind - a monk for locking down any enemies you haven't blasted with lightning could also work!
Am I doing something wrong? or when you upcast a witchbolt with quickned spell from sorc, the reaplication it's back to a level 1 withbolt instead of an upcasted one
Yup, it's bugged. Luckily by then most things should be dead - we use witch bolt just for the initial damage here most of the time, not the channel. I should definitely have mentioned that though!
@@Cephalopocalypse Oh, no worries at all. I play one party almost identical to the one in this video, that came to light just by playing/wacthing your previous content. Though, faced this issue beforehand. Wierd that it works perfectly with Call Lightning. But twin casting the Withbolt is a good call to circumvent this, true.
If Gale isn't my main as lightning lord, do I still need the skill proficiencies in Deception and Intimidation and the dialogue charisma stats? My main is gloom stalker, party is cleric and barbarian. Chromatic Orb doesn't show up in list of spell options at Level 3 for Wizard.
btw, little note on throwing any spears that return to the owner's hands: they will NOT return to you if the spear lands in a chasm. Learned this the hard way in the sewers with Nyrulna. ;.;
On your cleric you want Inflict Wounds as a spell to be cast without disadvantage, when you are in melee. Guiding bolt for distance, Inflict wounds for melee. Also, guiding bolt is radiant damage which along with items like Luminous Armour and Luminous Gloves, is powerful and a good way to use up low level spell slots. This ties in well with wearing the Holy Lance helm. One alternative 'thrower' build is having some levels of Eldritch Knight, which allows you to make any weapon into a bound weapon (which means if you throw it, it returns to hand).
Inflict Wounds is an okay choice for this character, but this party never really has to operate in melee so unless you're finding that happening frequently you usually won't need it. Remember you also have thunderwave as a tempest cleric for a melee spell option
I'm planning on using 2 Moon Druids, not as permanent party members, just to swap in to save spell slots on my other casters. They dont really even require equipment. Need to give Halsin and Jaheira some time to shine!
I just had my honor mode run fail because the lift in the gauntlet of Shar started moving, and my characters didn't until they fell to their deaths, so thining of trying this one. I'm not sure about how to really use druids though, would a 10 Bard/2 Fighter work as well, or would I be missing the added wet from the myrmidons?
Is race/sub race relevant to anything here or your other honor guide? You recommended gith and few others for the TAV in your prior but I don’t think I caught any here. Dope video
Generally what race and background you pick won't have a ton of impact on your build, but overall the strongest are usually wood elf/half wood elf, duergar, halfling, gnome, and githyanki. For this party build I don't think there's anything extremely relevant you need though, so you can just play whatever you want for flavor!
Dang. Why didn't you post this a tad earlier... sigh. Missed these amazing gloves of dexterity since I went to the vendor's spot on my way back after all Gyth wanted me dead. For the ones who don't want to miss these: they are sold by A'jak'nir Jeera in the Southeastern rocks part of the Crèche Y'llek and are NOT among the loot if you (have to) kill her. So make sure you buy these right at the beginning while you're still in "good" standing with the Gyth, before you work on the quests. Edit: great build, btw. Will definitely stick with it in my next/Honor run.
I would like to try this setup but without the throwing barb because I’ve used that already on another run. Can you think of another build that would fit the theme?
I love the general concept behind this guide, but wouldn't having all these low carry capacity Strength 8 characters over a long playthrough be very annoying quality-of-life wise? Other than the throwing barbarian, wouldn't you have to sink inordinate time in inventory management b/c everyone else will constantly be getting encumbered? I get it from a min/max perspective, but playing an entire ~100 hour campaign with a party that barely carry any more gear than what they presently equip has got to be a pain!
@@KirDmA that's what I mean - over the course of a long game, that's incredibly annoying to keep having to do that. Definitely a problem for me, but to each his own!
I have a very important question: where are you going to get all the water bottles for throwing? Won't you run out if you're throwing like 4 bottles a fight?
You usually won't need more than 0-1 water bottle per fight - that's just one way to apply wet, but you can use create water, melted ice surfaces, and in the later game the water elemental/myrmidon abilities. You can also if you start running out sometimes buy them from merchants, though finding them in the world should give you way more than enough
Just curious as to how this party actually fits into the game mechanic. The character you use for your Druid, isn't available right away. Unless you play the Druid yourself, you can't really get one until you get Withers so your comments on a level one and two Druid with spider shape and the early level use of a torch don't seem to apply. I have been looking for the perfect group to use with an abjuration wizard, but that one takes a while to get to the point where its gimmick comes online.
I clicked on this mainly for seeing how your supposed to fight with this wet based team. But I can't find it. It's too bad the video is long too that I don't want to watch it fully. Inside of the fight, how would you apply wet (can you do it without using an action?)?
Love your videos! I never see any life clerics as mono class builds on YT. Is there a reason why? I feel like their channel divinity plus those extra heal items is sooo OP. Bless and blade ward for a short rest replenishable channel divinity. It is item dependent but I feel it makes healers viable in bg3 but I’ve never seen a build for it. No healer love on YT :(
I think it would be interesting to see a reverse role team. Like your abjuration tank wizard but with other classes maybe like full caster monk or ranged only fighter full healer Druid? Idk 🤷♂️
I was thinking about a LotR themed party. Either Legolas, Gimly, Aragorn and Gandalf, or the 4 Hob.., uhum, halflings. I really want to do the halfling one, but I'm unsure about how I would build anyone but Frodo
I love Karlach as a TB thrower, but I found that BG3 would not return the weapon (yes, including Nyrulna, Returning Pike, and any 'lock-bound weapon) about one out of six fights making it unreliable--for me--for an Honor Run. I can't suddenly have one of my heaviest hitters be without her main weapon. (And, yes, I know I can just throw bombs a javelin or something else in my inventory.)
If you throw the weapon to initiate combat it doesn’t return. You have to already be in combat before you start throwing. Once I realized that, it worked 100%
You're not supposed to be able to, but they messed up the patch and you can still twin it if you upcast it. If that feels bad to you, you can twin chromatic orb instead, it's more damage with level 1-3 spell slots and nearly as much with higher level. (Similarly, they nerfed twinned chain lightning, but not if you cast it from markoheshkir which is how you'll be using it most of the time).
@@KirDmA Is it a new change that the stones disappear, or specific to Honour Mode? I haven't playedd much since new year's, but I remember for certain that the stones do not disappear if the wizard isn't in the party.
That's not quite true - that was the intention, but they did the patch poorly. You can twin witch bolt if you upcast it to any level but 1, and you can twin chain lightning if you cast it from markoheshkir. If that feels bad to you, you can just twin chromatic orb like I suggest in the video

I'm in Act 2 now
Wanted to say thanks for all of the guides you put out! You make some creative builds for inspiration.
This is awesome! Is there any chance you could make a party for hm based around a paladin mc? I like paladins, but I am so bad at synergy.
I just came for the True Strike meme and I'm glad we're sticking with the bit
This sounds like a lot of fun! I'd personally love to see a full mono-class party guide - having to manage several multi-classed characters is a bit overwhelming for me, honestly
cant wait for the next honor mode party build bro, ur amazing.
You are the reason I could finally finish Honour mode! Thank you thank you
I just did the lightning lord one. So much fun!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks!
Thanks so much for the support! I really appreciate it :D
That's awesome! Great video! Thanks for your work! Godly as usual!
I really love these, thank you for doing another one
Thanks very much - glad you like them!
I didn’t even read the title. Saw the artwork on the thumbnail and clicked that fast
I love the videos and the breakdowns keep up the great work
I love your vids. Your insights are usefull and your presentation is superb
Darkness+hide makes them unkillable and i have 8 darknesses to play with each short rest
Melting everything with no chance of losing
Thanks for the video! With these full HM party build I might actually try to get the golden dice again. I abandoned the my first and only HM attempt after I failed to save Isobel from Marcus and got everyone at Last Light killed 😅
Stories like this is what keeps players alert
Great guide! Thank you!
Definitely the most valuable materials about this game. I have one question. Can I take a bard (College of Swords Bard / Fighter) from your previous guide instead of a druid?
Yesssss I'm so here, lost my ball python last night and this is the first thing that made me really excited since ❤
*pat pat* sorry about your noodle!
@@katsamajoto ty 🥺
Ah no, I'm really sorry to hear that! That's always really hard. I'm glad you enjoyed the video though!
We algo boostin with this one
I had to look up that “Warped Headband of Intellect”. I’ve never fought OR summoned that guy. What a game.
honestly, assassin/fighter/tempest cleric makes sense for a wet and wild build. I.E shovel surprise round, conjure water outside of combat into combat, action surge + haste pot, get call lightning off 3 times in a row and all should be autocrits from assassin alacrity/initiate. And double damage from wet.
Call lightning cannon crit - it is a save based aoe spell. For crits use witch bolt.
Just lost my first honor mode run trying to climb the brain stem it was bugged and wouldn’t let me climb up. 60+ hours down the drain gonna try this party setup
Divine Strike is not just for melee it’s for ranged attacks as well
Omg I hit for 320 with a witch bolt on a wet gortash. I upped it to level 6 with the tempest cleric boost, regardless that is an impressive one shot.
My take on the Tempest build:
8 STR
8 DEX
16 CON
17 INT
15 WIS
8 CHA
+ 1 Sorcerer (1)
+ 1 Cleric (2)
+ 1 Wizard (3)
+ 1 Cleric (4)
+ 2 Sorcerer (6)
+ 6 Cleric (12)
Sorc 3 / Cleric 8 / Wizard 1
By focusing on Cleric you get 1 extra charge of max damage per short rest
Like to have a Bard on the party for the extra short rest
With an item from act 3 that gives another charge, you can do max damage 9 times per long rest
Also get to be an decent healer for the party by focusing Cleric
Will have less sorcery points as the only negative
I really dislike having to long rest a lot (usually Warlock is the only caster I use because of that), so this works better for me
Absolutely love the video. Is there any build you might recommend other than the Druid or is that an essential part of the squad?
I don't think it's essential - there's a lot of options that could work here. A bard for more short rests will let your lightning character do the combo more times per day, or a warlock to give you a darkness bubble to play out of are some options that come to mind - a monk for locking down any enemies you haven't blasted with lightning could also work!
can you do a party around your face of fear build? :D

Chromatic Orb doesn't show up in list of spell options at Level 3 for Wizard.
btw, little note on throwing any spears that return to the owner's hands: they will NOT return to you if the spear lands in a chasm. Learned this the hard way in the sewers with Nyrulna. ;.;
Is this party good in patch7?
6:08 😂 me at work
I was definitely drawing on my office experience for that one :P
Which stats would you suggest if you don't have the Gloves of Dexterity? I have them in other files, but sadly not in the lightning themed party one
Sorry if this is a silly question. How would I start a party with Jaheira as suggested here?
Any plans to make an Illithid power tier list? Would really like to get your take on those!
If you’ve explained I’m sorry I’m tired but I’m confused on the place of the moon Druid is it the “tank” and could you also play out of shape shifter
Always amusing lighting builds don’t rely or need any of the lightning charge gear
I Love These Buildcomps
Would it be possibble To-Do a Comp with my Favourite Tav...the 2-10 Bardadin?
so anyway we started blasting
does the water myrmidon heal apply whispered promise bless if the druid is wearing it?
I love the general concept behind this guide, but wouldn't having all these low carry capacity Strength 8 characters over a long playthrough be very annoying quality-of-life wise? Other than the throwing barbarian, wouldn't you have to sink inordinate time in inventory management b/c everyone else will constantly be getting encumbered? I get it from a min/max perspective, but playing an entire ~100 hour campaign with a party that barely carry any more gear than what they presently equip has got to be a pain!
Simple - send anything you don't use/need to camp. Before you even pick items. And for trading go to camp, pick all junk, and sell. No problem at all.
@@KirDmA that's what I mean - over the course of a long game, that's incredibly annoying to keep having to do that. Definitely a problem for me, but to each his own!
so how do i do the channel divinity and one of the crit things in the same turn??? they both require a reaction
so, if you get Antie Ethel's hair, which do you go with with this party?
I have a very important question: where are you going to get all the water bottles for throwing? Won't you run out if you're throwing like 4 bottles a fight?
You usually won't need more than 0-1 water bottle per fight - that's just one way to apply wet, but you can use create water, melted ice surfaces, and in the later game the water elemental/myrmidon abilities. You can also if you start running out sometimes buy them from merchants, though finding them in the world should give you way more than enough
Will you make a guide about a party that's built around Death Ward? I think a lot of people deserve an OP party comp once in a while.
You can easily find it on UA-cam. Some xx time attack per round (86?, i don't remember) build.
For an abjuration wizard centered build, check out my previous party guide "the best party in bg3" :D
@@Cephalopocalypse Thanks.
Mature, sensible and informative comment about making Auntie Ethel wet
Just did the first party build and cleared honor. The game bugged and didn't give me credit so I guess I have to try this one!
Could you try making a team around using the bard’s song of rest ability?
I clicked on this mainly for seeing how your supposed to fight with this wet based team. But I can't find it. It's too bad the video is long too that I don't want to watch it fully. Inside of the fight, how would you apply wet (can you do it without using an action?)?
Quicken spell create water or barbarian throws a bottle of water which consumes not entire their action but one attack
No healer love on YT :(
It is simple - you don't really need a guide to build mono class life cleric. It is really simple, even more than battle master.
@@KirDmA good point, still love to see some healer recognition in the team builds though at least. They’ve completely changed some bad fights for me
It's not a monoclass life cleric but check out my build "the best healer in bg3"

The moon druid perhaps. The water/ice summons druid brings are awesome to apply and utilise the wet effect but you can most likely like without them
I think it would be interesting to see a reverse role team.
They are all is throwing barbarians
Could you make a full melee beast Owlbear Druid build? One that could own in HM
It's one of his first builds he created
, the flying owlbear. Check it out
I love Karlach as a TB thrower, but I found that BG3 would not return the weapon (yes, including Nyrulna, Returning Pike, and any 'lock-bound weapon) about one out of six fights making it unreliable--for me--for an Honor Run.
I thought I read somewhere that you can't twin witchbolt anymore
You're not supposed to be able to, but they messed up the patch and you can still twin it if you upcast it. If that feels bad to you, you can twin chromatic orb instead, it's more damage with level 1-3 spell slots and nearly as much with higher level. (Similarly, they nerfed twinned chain lightning, but not if you cast it from markoheshkir which is how you'll be using it most of the time).
For the first build, if you plan on using the concentration stone, would you still take level 1 as sorcerer?
Please tell me how you can use transmutation stone - if wizard is not in the active party stone will disappear.
@@KirDmA Is it a new change that the stones disappear, or specific to Honour Mode?
I haven't playedd much since new year's, but I remember for certain that the stones do not disappear if the wizard isn't in the party.
@@noamto I think that is patch 6? feature. In any difficulty. You can go to bg3 wiki and see transmuter stone page for yourself.
Why would oyu want the barbarian to wear light armor? Don't they want no armor because of unarmored defense?
As of patch 6 you cant Twin Witch bolt or chain lightning.
That's not quite true - that was the intention, but they did the patch poorly. You can twin witch bolt if you upcast it to any level but 1, and you can twin chain lightning if you cast it from markoheshkir. If that feels bad to you, you can just twin chromatic orb like I suggest in the video
@@Cephalopocalypse Well things I learned!
