@@dark_c_a_t8894 Yeah, if they go too overboard with mutations it could lead to a Beasts of Bermuda situation in which new players won't have a chance at survival and become easy pickings for group-thug dinos with maxed mutation stats. Going to be even worse if elders are applied to it (but thankfully, elders WILL die of old age at some point...)

@@alexs29 since the elder system may give you benefits in your future lives, maybe you could also get some good secret or extra mutations by dying of old age as an elder? so players who can't get a nest (although i imagine it'd be easy to catch a nest if nesting gets popular) can still get that stuff

given that to this day on the servers I rarely see an egg available I tell myself that on Evrima people do not want to nest, already the food goes down too quickly the diet adds an additional difficulty if each baby must be fed as much as possible they want people to never want to nest, with inheritance it was easier to nest, your food didn't go off quickly and you didn't have to worry about diets. I say their food system is good thinking, but it breaks the game. He adds secret mutations so that they are forced to be born in a nest, you will see that there will be very few eggs

Awesome video! No ones really covered the mutations much because I guess dibble has taken the spotlight. Personally more interested in mutations as they add more replayability to the game. Thanks again for doing these I look forward to every one.

As someone who has no friends to nest me in this puts me in a big disadvantage, still I'm really glad nesting has a point now.

@@nvender9062 I'd appreciate if you elaborated on that actually, because now I am curious. I never played DoD myself and all I heard about it was bad things.
@@alunaticwithashotgun9840 There are clans that breed dragons to get the best stats. These clans are very toxic and go around killing people that aren't part of any clans. I'm not too sure how these clans fight each other. But they sure do enjoy swearing talking shit and camping spawn areas and water sources. I don't play the game but a couple friends of mine do and this is what they see from time to time.
@@nvender9062 Oh yea that does sound absolutely horrible, I feel like people should just stop playing that if it is that bad.
Though I don't think you'd have to be in a clan to get the best out of The Isle's nesting, having 2 friends that play the game should be enough it seems.
The min maxing of genetics is going to add a really fun element to the game
I do not agree with you, already if the system forces you to be born in a nest you will not choose your color on top of that the nests are already rare in the game frankly I never see them and it forces you for mutations, unless you nest with your friends but if you're a solo player like me, you'll never find a nest of your kind or you'd have to have a hell of a chance

we won't see more nests, it's good for the babies, but the parents don't get rewarded by it, so the people that are going to nest, were the people that nested before mutations, but that's my guess

Maybe get another mutation when you lay for the first time? Not a great solution, but it is one
@@Nate-bd8fg u can't get a mutation about nesting from nesting, won't work, u can however, get a mutation about groups from nesting, like a 3% plus on every stat if ur in the same group with someone, it would increase 1% each time u nest, or each baby born from ur nest it's 0.5% buff
It would be easier if we could store food in the nests again. I don't care if it's unrealistic this a game.

Pretty cool, I'm glad they made nesting more valuable for kids. Now I only hope they make nesting more valuable for parents too. Maybe it could become the prerequisite to becoming an elder.

this is a nice buff for nests, i wish they'd let you choose whether to take parents colors or your own because i dont like spending a lot of time on something i didnt design myself.. they also need to move the current nest options onto the main screen so people actually see them
Seeing a lotta people talk about food & diet drain. I think an easy fix could be that while the parents have a viable egg/babies in hatchling stage their food drain could be dramatically lessened. I do know they intend to add a Mothers Buff situation too.
i HOPE we see more nests. i always want to nest people in but can never find anyone that actually wants to nest😭

I assumed that those smaller ones on Mutation screen would show Diets, as in they fill in with your Diets and if you can keep them active they allow you to boost them to current value that, if i understood right is going to be max value outside of Horde Test.
My guess was that Mutation slot on lower left was for being born via Nesting.
But no, this makes nesting a lot better and something everyone wants to pick if they can!
This allows some long lived family lines to really have multiple perks, perhaps those perks are weaker but still active and helpful.
i was nested in as a diablo and didn't know i could be blessed with good mutations, i gotta check as soon as i play again
I wonder if you can keep your mutations if the elder system is implemented and you decide to regrow your Dino or something
You should try to make the ultimate dibble 👀 get a mate with the best mutations n pass that off to the babies n then have them get the other good mutations >:D!
Can you stack the swimming speed mutation with the inherited one or does it prevent you from choosing that one a second time? I only ask because increased swimming speed on bepi is pretty powerful. I can breach the water and hit my head on the lower bridges because of it, so I imagine being able to stack them might actually get it to the point where you can jump right onto them.
I tried to choose 2 mutations and the game didn't let me, but I still gotta try with an inherited one + survival one
And the other two slots would most likely be from the elder system!
I wonder if you nest and get the mutations then nest again with the inherited mutations, does it give that third generation offspring mutations from the grand and the current parents. Or are the mutations only inherited from the previous generation. Also do the mutations stack? like more health regen
I tried to nest when I got inherited mutations, the babies didn't got different ones nor did the mutations stack. I think it's because the system is still in early stage ^^
so for now you can only get Max 2 or 3 mutations inherited.
How do you get the mutations features? It doesn't actually appear to be in the game (?)

usually 2 and half hours :)

Someone in isle-discussion said it doesn't stack. I believe them, because it would be crazy, but I've not heard it confirmed by a dev.

Hi Kouga! I nested on hordetest and one of my childe inheridet 3 mutations, so I guess there is a small chance to get more mutations by nesting. Or it was bug XD
it was a bug, Filipe told us that the third mutation is bugged for herbivores and omnivores

This is truly amazing But i think even tho the mutations are set on their highest value they should be lil bit higher. the pototsyntetic tissue for example is only 5%. It should REALLY impact the gameplay

Well, thats cool, that nesting provides benefits for babys, but I dont really think that this will increase amount of nests. Obviously, because thats main problem still is that its dont provide anything for parents, except beeing more vulnerable and a bit of role playing
Knowing the isle community they might just disregard the feature in like a couple of days and go back to fighting things with not a single nest in sight

Yes you can. I try with raptor eat a lot of raptors bodies and on my second mutation (important) slot i can choose canibalistic
I do wonder though: the babies that come forth can have 4 mutations then instead of 2, but what if those babies grew and nested?...do their babies then get 4 inherited mutations plus 2 from growing?
And if so, what is gonna be the limit? When will you stop getting mutations?

What if mutations will be the way to eventually get to the strains?... The more mutations you get, perhaps some mutations caused by humans....
the mutations are still a bit bugged, until now you can only get up to 2 maximum inherited (as Herbies and Omnivores), if you grow and nest with another nested adult, sadly it won't do a thing.

i don't really like this..
it's a straight advantage for group players and a downside for solo ones...
i want nesting to be encouraged...but not by just creating differences like this...
maybe the solution is to just allow to all the same number of mutations, but last 2 only after full grown stage and still keeping it alive...and nested ones just get them faster, but NOT EXTRA
idk...this needs more work imo
frankly I'm disgusted I don't think so, to have another mutation it was necessary to do this nest the devs put too many conditions😑
