I didn’t like how mean Bruce was to Alfred but they brought it home in the end so I’m not too bothered by it in the end

Im actually really starting to like this take on batman it's different but also unique and grounded enough to stand on it's own

What I like most about this show is the portrayal of Gotham City and the corruption in it's system. In previous shows, while Gotham was portrayed as very dark, gothic place, full of criminals and super villains, it's corruption was not properly adressed. Sure we had some corrupt CEOs like Rolland Dagget and Ferris Boyle , but they were usually defeated and arrest in the end and figures like politicians or other cops were never show to be evil (at best they were just incompetent)
In Caped Crusader, it shows how villains like Thorne and Catwoman are able to commit crimes and get way with it, even when they are caught and cops like Bullock and Flass caused incidents like freeing Firebug and are seen as heroes after killing him. It really shows how mess up Gotham truly is and justifies why the city needs a vigilante like Batman to be it's protector.

I mentioned the Hays Code for a reason, because for a long time, you were straight up not allowed to portray cops as incompetent or corrupt in TV or film. BTAS had to really skirt the line with that. I think it says something about our cultural shift since the original TAS where that corruption is not only openly portrayed, but it's a plot-point.

@@SPBurke A change for the better. Batman without commentary on corruption is like X-men without commentary on prejuice and discrimination. It' core part of the character and his main struggle, trying to help people and give them hope in a city that seems beyond salvation.

It's not that they didn't properly convey the corruption in the other series. Its that most of the corruption was cleared by the time we join the story. It's that they almost always pass over the first year of batman. Batman first year is pretty much him and those who would help him clearing out the corrupted officials. Like batman famous eaten well speech is completely passed over in most media.

Show looks dope need to check it out. Bruce calling Alfred pennyworth feels more like a call back to recent dcau with Damien calling Alfred that new uncaring Batman vs his assassin son

Oh yeah, I bet Damien was the inspiration for that.

I kinda hate they killed off Harvey. He had potential to be maybe a regular recurring villain in S2
