Quick tip. You don’t need to scale and gut fish if you plan to fillet and de-skin it.
If you don’t bring a bucket there is a hefty fine only in boats tho

I’ve caught a fair amount of flatties and never gutted one. I just cut the tails off.
I have also found that Willy Weather is not accurate at all for wind, I find the ‘windy’ app more useful. Enjoying watching your videos!

@@lukefalzon We moved to St Albans Park 5 years ago from batemans bay(nsw),fished for 50 years up there ,just recently bought a little tinny,and struggling to catch fish,(very different in port phillip)so looked you up on youtube to get some tips.
hi luke if you do get a sounder and looking to get a snapper or 2 look between the 6-18 metre mark {thats what i find to work anyway} and look for red archers hope this helps

Luke Falzon I’m from Melbourne but when restrictions are over we fish a lot out of st lenards Barwon river and we do this on our 3.8 metre tinny
It’s never to early for snapper, winter snapper are good fun, just remember early season the d snapper like the smaller and softer bait such as squid rings, lots of burly and your on

Looks like you were fishing the top of the tide which I believe is good when you are near the edge of the channel there (as it drops). I usually just leave a soft plastic lure bobbing up and down just on the bottom, the gentle movement of the boat will keep it active. Try tying a burly pot to your anchor rope, to keep the fish under your boat. It takes too long for your chum to hit the bottom and by the time it does the dropping tide will carry it far away.
