I used to operate the 3000 and 4000 komatsu excavators for yrs. I do miss it sometimes
There are 4 of these diggers on a coal site near me in s Wales uk. They been on site over 10 years now,and still going strong.
Those dump trucks are awesome, so huge. The excavator is beyond awesome, I have always wanted to learn to operate one ever since I was a kid using the sandbox lever buckets.
nice excavator
I love Big machines, I work in construction and appreciate the immense power needed to do this.
this shovel got an easy life smooth and efficient operator gj!
That operator is smoother than a fresh jar of Skippey!
I love the way that dust kicks up everywhere.
Komatsu Monster...respect...great video mate!!
Such a great job! Can’t wait to be doing this after high school
Sehr schönes Video, toller Maschinensound, danke!
that is some big bucket! 4 scoops for a load. great close up video.
So Komatsu began shrouding those rams... good idea! Good God that thing is a beast.
Yes and those guards have saved those cylinders a couple times already! Thanks
+PAmining the tracks look tiny compared to the size of the machine ,I thought they would be a lot thicker ?really smart ,good video Cheer's
Katy STEVEN CLARK this machine has rock tracks, excavator and mining shovels track chains aren't designed to twist while traveling over the uneven terrain of rocks. you don't have to worry about the machine sinking here so they run these very skinny tracks to minimize the undercarriage damage
First time I saw a mining shovel (Cat 5130 in Carlsbad, CA) and those narrow tracks I was like "that one skipped leg day..."
I've only ever ran mini excavators. I'd love to be able to try one of these big boys.
What a well done video...thanks.
There are 4 of these diggers on a coal mine in S Wales uk, they must be 12 yrs old now, just keep going for ever.
Brilliant video Justin, loved the blast.
Liked.
Thanks, figured people would like that

Great Video. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! Lots of Komatsu equipment.
That was another good one. I liked the drill 'squad' and watching the shot 'walk'. The 3k is a fine machine and has a fine operator. That knothead at the local boulder hole could take some lessons from him. Smooth is good, bang/flop is not!
Thanks; glad you enjoyed it! These guys usually always do a pretty good job with their blasting.
PAmining True enough. The shooting was always good enough but some of the loading got really rough. I'm sure if I'd done it to him like he did it to us he would not have been happy.
Looks like a new mine...boy how I wish they'd leave us alone and let us mine here in eastern ky....we just lost one of the cooling towers to the coal fired plant in Ashland ky..demo for natural gas upgrade. If someone don't make some big changes around here things are gonna get far worse...someone's getting robbed every min cause peoples gotta have money and they'll get it one way or another...btw one of your best all around vids...thanks justin.. hope pa is a little better
Actually this mine started operation in 2000. $20 million was spent to completely upgrade the fleet between 2014-2015. P.S. better hope Trump gets in! And thanks, glad you enjoyed it! This was a fun video to shoot.
Can't they just ask for government assistance? 1st world countries typically have a social security system so you don't have to rob your neighbors to survive. Now I understand that the South isn't part of that and that Kenntucky has the living standard and human development index of Romania but I'm sure more successful states like California would help you out. Better asking for help and trying to develop new industries than smoking meth and living of roadkill.
Another fine video! Thanks for sharing. All best.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
It is a good heavy machine. They are cool. I enjoyed the video.
Very cool!
1:51 What are the three slightly remote explosions in the rear for?
Good question. Those were big boulders that were too large to load that were then re-drilled and loaded with explosives and tied into the main blast to break them up.
Ah, that makes sense of course! Thank you!
I kind of miss the dinosaur sized Big Muskie and the other unique, made for purpose machines. These are still awesome if a bit generic and mass produced.
Indonesia present
Amazing, just wow Komatsu PC3000
Kinda makes Fred's Brontosaurus a little obsolete ;)
3:42 it’s funny they got protectors that protect the Rams but they do not have covers protection for the hydraulic motors and hoses on the bottom of the Machine
good designing and komatsu doesn't go together
Amazing, just wow
Like a giant dynasaur stalking its prey!!!
Amazing
Cooool Blasting segment !!!!!!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Nice content 🤝👍
Good video
Einfach nur geil :-) super Video !
Thank you! Greetings from Pennsylvania!
nice machine and good operator
Love the smell of Shot Rock in the morning.
Agreed, and the smell after a blast!
I've operated big diggers also and the first thing they teach you is not to dig over your track motors
Well what they didn't teach ya is that when you double bench you're going to dig over the drives no matter which way they are faced. -PA
Awesome vid as usual
Thanks!
dang that pit looks deep. How do you guys get the coal vs how they do it in say eastern kentucky with 100 foot wide pits? looks like a bit more involved here.
The coal here lies in a syncline so there's constant coal extraction while mining down to the basin (bottom of coal) which is over 400ft deep. Think of this mine as operating within the shape of the letter "U". The rock face you see behind the PC3000 is called the bottom rock- that's the south wall of the syncline and what the main coal seam lies up against. A switchback road network is developed to allow access for the big equipment to reach the bottom coal.
Here in a wales, pit near me just keeps going deeper and deeper, 16 different coal seams,I've heard.
Super
the tracks look so narrow for such a large machine
Those are actually the standard size track shoes for the PC3000. Wider pads are also available at the customers request.
@@PAmining thats what i thought. Our 2000s have that. Not bad when they are in rock but we have alot of junkier material and its like walking on egg shells sometimes
OMG rock every where
What is the average time between blasting and first load being driven out?
About 15 minutes. A full blast delay usually takes a half hour.
I'm from southwestern Pennsylvania what part of the state is this? if it's anthracite I'm assuming eastern part
Yes, this is east Pennsylvania
He is swinging long ways may just have to due to what he trying accomplish good operator tho very smooth
What are those two vehicles at the start called and what were they doing?
That would be the blasters.
Large scale!
👍👍👍
klasse machine...
Is that PC3000 a 300 tonne machine? Nice vid of it working.
That's just the model number, these weigh about 250 tons, this is one of the smaller models, they do 4000,5000,7000,and 8000, now that is massive take a look.
nice shot . I saw no fly rock . what is the pattern and how much are they stemming to collar ? decent enough muck depending on how hard it is .
That was a 200 hole square pattern drilled 17x16. 10 foot minimum stemming. The strata is grey rock and sandstone. Thanks
Love videos
wow
que que e isso minha gente que mostro e esse da vontade de morar dentro kkk
The tracks seem very slim for such a large piece of equipment!
Big monster
monster
nice video,,,, all good looking komatsu's ,,, more posts!
Is that overburden? How deep is the coal normally?
Yes, the 3000 loads all overburden while smaller excavators extract the coal which lies at a maximum depth of 460 feet at this mine. The coal lies in a syncline so there is continuous coal extraction as the pit progresses down
if I had a job operating heavy equipment I wouldn't give it up for anything.
What are they mining?
Anthracite coal
Is that the anthracite coal they are loading or is that overburden? And how much reserves of coal is left at that site? Amazing video by the way.
That is all overburden. Reserves on this site are 2 million tons
Komatsu mining
Boooomm......😊😊😊
Liebherr is the best👍👍..
I would hate to blow a track...
wow...how green is your digger operator!! breaking quite a few sop's of the machine. other then that a good video.
Like what? Lol
